I read over the BGG post. I don't entirely agree with how it works as the rules are written, but I think I understand them. You, and the community, state that if AUS Air is in supply (which makes sense to me to determine if it is in supply), that would make the port Supply Eligible over sea from S Pac (not ANZAC, which is what sticks in my craw here), and that permits the overland supply from ANZAC and because the port, Townsville, is Supply Eligible (and the units are within 4MP of the port), the units are in supply. It is painful to me, but I get it. I would have thought that the supply eligibility would have needed to come from the supplying HQ, but the rules are not written that way. I'll definitely have to burn this one in for future adjudications. ;) As this is a friendly game, I'm fine with not continuing to hold up the game waiting on Mark to weigh in. Townsville is in supply, along with all of the units in it. |

I did run it past Chris Crane, because I too wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding supply rules. They are a nightmare at times. He did agree with me, but it is quite possible that we are wrong here. Post it on BGG or CSW and see if you get any other opinions. To me, the problem is not unlike Rangoon. You can trace a path overland from SEAC to Rangoon, but once the sea lane just south of the port is blocked by un-neutralized AZOI, the Rangoon hex is OOS. That's because when you trace supply overland the length is only 4MP until you reach another port. You can't reach Dacca in that case. |

Ok... breaking things down. Supply Eligible Port: A friendly HQ whether it is in or out of supply that can trace a legal Part I: overland supply path (6.21) up to 4 movement points in length Townsville is not within 4MP of an HQ. (I took out SW Pac HQ in Cairns). Part II: OR by sea of any length to a friendly controlled port makes that port supply eligible. You cannot trace a path *by sea* from ANZAC to Townsville. Even if you turn on the AZOI for AUS Air, I still block the sea pathway. This means that the AUS units are OOS and thus no AZOI and BB Miss cannot be in supply in that port either. If you had put the 5AF in Townsville, THAT would have put the US units in supply from Halsey. But Halsey can't activate Commonwealth Units, so AUS Air is OOS. If you put [5AF] in Port Moresby (or Cape York), I would say that because AUS Air is evaluated as if it was in supply to determine supply, it would bridge the AZOI gap and put it in supply (along with everything else). I am more than happy to let you redo your PBM (as long as I can redo mine)... there are likely different configurations that will hurt your supply lines... or open you up to other attacks to break things worse. Back to you. P.S. I took a look at Rally the Troops. I VERY MUCH agree that Empire of the Sun would be awesome in there. I think if I had more time, I would dig into the Rally the Troops tools to see how they create them. I may still reach out... but someone (hopefully) will create a module long before I could get to it. |

So if we go by the rule that a unit is in supply if by being in supply it is in supply…..then, clearly, it is in supply.
