109 3/23/2024 2:43:00 AM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Yep, rule 10.21 has the details:

10.21 PROCEDURE: After all reinforcements are on the map,
each player may move in-supply infantry SPs (even those already
in play) from their location through friendly controlled spaces
connected by railroads up to their Strategic Movement limit
(10.22). Neutral spaces may not be used for this movement.

An individual infantry SP cannot combine naval and overland
Strategic movement during the same Strategic movement unless
it is moving to an Army. Generals and Cavalry Brigades are not
eligible for strategic movement.

As a special case an Army can receive a SP if it is in supply and
has an LOC of friendly or neutral spaces directly to the location
of the SP (neutral RR connections are eligible in this situation).
108 3/22/2024 9:57:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message I believe you must travel only by rail for SM unless you are going into an Army (or port to port). So I don't think you can mass a force into Franklin as there isn't any rail connection

Union may make a naval more with up to three SPs plus one general. Move may pass one ungarrisoned fort without “running the guns” to conduct an amphibious assault (may not pass an ironclad). Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.

I sheepishly return to ACTS tonight to somehow attempt to mend the crap I have caused. Life took a bizarre turn the past few weeks and I was unable to play then became totally embarrassed by this fact. Things have normalized so I am able to return to playing but I understand if you have no interest. Time is also running short. Please lmk how you would like to proceed if at all.

81 2/5/2024 9:08:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Heya! A couple of clarifications here.

a) Even though the card is an Event, you don't have to play it as one. There is no need to target your own army with the card, just play it as an Ops card (place a fort, move an SP, etc etc)

b) If you did want to play it as an event, then you are allowed to target my army since it does have Stuart and Beauregard.

c) Here is a ruling from the game designer stating that the intent is that only subordinate generals are allowed to be targeted - https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1332510/costly-mistake
80 2/5/2024 7:56:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Subs might actually only be the targets. Can you confirm this please?

78 2/5/2024 7:55:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Event #4: 1 / Costly Mistake
Pick an enemy army with two or more subordinate generals (includes Cavalry Generals) and randomly determine a target general. On a die roll of 1-3 the chosen general is killed and removed from play. On a die roll of 4-6 the general is wounded and removed from play, but re-enters during the reinforcement phase of the next game turn.

62 1/26/2024 12:07:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Checking in to see your status. I hope all is ok with you.
61 1/20/2024 12:13:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message (sharing what I shared via our Discord chat)

OK, thanks for sharing your map. I can see what you have done wrong.
When I intercepted into Frederick, I had to leave behind Smith and 1. This is because Corps can only have 6 troops max (and 2 generals max). So Smith and 1 stayed behind in Manassas

You can see this when I note this in move 46.

So your Pope move just doesn't work. You don't have a path through Manassas to DC that isn't blocked. If you go through Manassas, you need to fight Smith and if you don't, you don't have a path into DC
So on your move, I rolled because to me, it looked like you were moving through Smith.

Thoughts?
60 1/20/2024 11:33:00 AM Summer 1861 Moderator Message Thank you to increase the pace, please.
59 1/13/2024 4:20:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message If you can share your map, that would help me see if we are on the same page.

I think there were other ways to get to DC than through Manassas, so with me failing the intercept, I'm good with you ending up with 5 troops there.

I just want to make sure our understanding of the map is good.
58 1/10/2024 10:03:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message Hi Mike,
I message 49 I indicated that I wanted Pope to end in Washington if he could run the gauntlet through Manssas.
I will make it clearer next time in ACTS and the Vassal log.
So I think ultimately with the failed intercept Pope ends up with Buell and 5 in Washington.

57 1/8/2024 3:57:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message I sent you some notes in Discord clarifying. Let me know if you have questions, thoughts

56 1/6/2024 3:10:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Smith and 1 were in Manassas I believe. I had to leave them behind because I had 7 troops in Manassas and 3 generals total.

55 1/6/2024 2:56:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Hi Mike,
