3 11/14/2024 6:30:00 PM Spring 1861 Confederate Message OK, CSA will not open with a campaign, so you're up first.

Common opening move (if you can with your opening hand) is to activate AOP, leaving SPs behind and picking up some on the way to try to smash JJ in the valley, then turn back after a win (assuming he doesn't retreat before battle) to smash Beauregard.

Sometimes Union players also go early for Texas, Fort PJ (LA), etc.

If you have a hand full of 1s, options are your OPs queue (I forgot to mention we are playing with ALL optional rules except the RR logistics section) or (usually) to fort up in the east. CSA strategy is usually to build up and launch raids (or better yet, try and get DC) before Grant arrives on Turn 7. Long games (13 turns) of FTP are VERY rare, yet fun when they happen.

Nice to be playing with you again after so many years!

Here is our game of FtP. I'll do my best to "teach" but let me know if you have ANY questions along the way. I'll gladly answer anything in this learning game. Then maybe we can take the cuffs off for a rematch.

We start by drawing 4 cards each on Turn 1, then I as CSA announce if I'll open with a campaign. I'll draw now.
