Going back further, this means that I only had 1 CA interdiction vs Sword so your 3/9 was NOT interdicted by the "2" roll and you assaulted with 12 - not 10 - resulting in 6 - not 4 - CPs. So, the end result is my Sword CA is D2, and the 726 is also as it retreats to Caen. Quite a difference you made on that saving throw Air bombardment vs Sword. I'd feel bad but you missed it before I did apparently. Anyway, now consider it fixed. |

Now I have a question for you. What did you expect to gain by assaulting Sword with a single unit? I understand why attacking Gold at 5:6 is effective - primarily it is to free the armor from the OVR prohibition to first landing units. At Gold there are vulnerable targets to assault after an OVR - or better yet a cleared beach, but that generally does not exist at Sword unless both areas 7 & 8 have been reduced. Certainly not when both are fresh. I don't see what you gain by delaying landing in force at Sword. You just increase the possibility of having one less unit to make the assault that gets past the fortifications. |

The Armor was successfully interdicted in a mandatory assault. If no assault takes place because all landing units are spent (or D1), the assault fails, and ALL landing units are D1. To avoid becoming D1, other units must land in the same impulse and make a successful assault (or a stalemate). |

I feel I should KNOW the answer to this but I read (and re-read) the rules but got only more confused with things that were not 'said straight out'. Against 2 guns my tank attempted to land on Gold - I rolled a 2 normally that would make him spent - However, rules state that entering an area (beach) with a fort still in play is a Mandatory Assault but I can NOT assault if I am spent. I only see that the initial landing unit(s) flip to D1 if they lose an assault or are interdicted to spent. I did NOT see where this carries over to subsequent 'assault attempts' but I'm sure I missed something here. SO, if I 'stop' my move now does the fort go away before my next play, or does the tank flip to D1 and ONLY if I land at least one more guy and successfully and AND win the attack on beach can I keep the tank from flipping....??? |

Teaching / learning mode..... Very not sure which is better move(s) Land tank on Juno and assault Gold after attempting to grab bridge. Landing tank on Juno and going for 16 also after attempting the bridge grab. Landing units (not sure which combo) on to Gold and IF able, assault the CA and then depending on that result trying some bridge grabs. landing fewer units on Gold (no tank), attempt to kill the CA then on NEXT move land tank and attempt to go to 19 or into 16. Again, TOO MANY CHOICES for my little brain... I really not sure which one is BEST - I know which one(s) are LESS LIKELY but also offer BIGGER reward....
