I don't like to play Speer, SsPZ6, (Pz5), Production surge, and the associated offensive event. It weighs too many ops in my opinion that can be better spent on replacements and regular ops. Those are all high up cards that will be likrly be twice a game. |

yes...totally agree with you....i made mistakes and you made me pay this game is amazing how different it can be each time.. not getting Guderian is bad...but you had worse woes early on... i am still not a fan of Speer event....especially when the germans are ahead....losing the 5 OP cards not always worth it... you played masterly...congrats... would like another try....need a few days off to recover.... I've decided playing the Canadians as an event isn't necessarily good taking a 5 OP card out of play for 3 RPs worth of units. It is better as replacements than as an event. I would play it as an event if I needed it to take North Africa if I had it instead of a US reinforcement army. You made Round Up very uninviting with an army in Bergen and Calais heavily defended. Calais is a risky invasion site as the Allied can be eliminated with a retreat 2 result if they get off the beach head. I like Shingle at Beach U. It forced the Axis to burn a number of OPs to respond to it and it is treated as Yellow before Overlord! Nice as a multi threat event. |

Interesting strategy using SR to brings a large number of GEc to Africa. A US army was necessary to win Africa with that course. All those GEc that were eventually eliminated create a shorted of GEc that you might shift to the RB if needed or to cover terrain. If I hadn't drawn a US Reinforcement right away, that could have caused trouble, so I wouldn't necessarily discredit that strategy. My first turn I drew three 2 OP cards and the 4 front reinf. Almost an ideal draw, except Industrial Evacuation the same time would have been nice. I also discarded Siberians because I couldn't afford to try to keep it two turns that early in the game. Then on turn two, I drew 3 more 2 OP cards and had only one other 4 OP card besides the reinforcements - I was really worried at that point that the game might end early. I though maybe you'd have Guderian and I'd never be able to contain you. The Slovakia PZ2 move is a nice setup for Guderian, but it can also be a bluff that you have it. Somehow, I survived the first summer and autumn... My Soviet Tank Armies arrived very late, but BR8 was more important since I already had Lend-Lease played, Mech fronts would eventually arrive. Even with a late Overlord worked OK, since the first draw was too early as I was able to take four VPs in France and hold three of them. An early Overlord isn't necessary in my opinion because the West Wall is too difficult to break. Yalta is the only card that can force a retreat. There was the 4 VP SF violation action that was big, maybe you could have only moved some of the units. Leaving two behind might have made the collapse bigger, so you may have needed to move at least three of them anyway. It was an interesting game. Lots of units went to the EB on both sides with heavy attrition. |

No, the US3 did not become full for free: 14.54 Voluntary Elimination: During the End of Turn Phase the Allied player may choose to eliminate any British, French or U.S. LCU in Full Supply. These are treated as if they were eliminated OOS and placed on the turn record track three turns later (so if they were removed during the Spring 43 End of Turn Phase they would be placed on the Winter 44 turn). At the start of that turn place them in the Eliminated Units Box—they are now eligible to be returned via replacements. They return when replacements are expended like any other eliminated unit. |

i missed this before...but I think US3 comes back in full strength... he goes to the turn track as thought he died OOS when units die OOS..they normally go to EB...and are brought back to play in full strength I think you can flip US9 in Genoa for extra US RP |
