As I already said in the log, you rolled a 6 for the AbnDiv, but you have a -1 malus for being ISR, which means a 5 and it goes to Europe. The important point is the one I put in bold characters, which underlines an exception to the general rule. If your CVs are engaged in Battle A, and Jolo becomes a BH, if I defend Jolo with only distant units (air or Cv), your own CVs will not swithc to the battle in Jolo. |

Its the same scenario as described in the rules examples - the rule you highlight says the same thing: "If the newly created battle hex contains an air or carrier unit that was declared to take part in another battle within range and the enemy reacts into the hex then these air/carrier units will switch and resolve combat in the battle hex they occupy." If the battle hex is created, they will switch to the new battle hex... just like in the rule you state above. What am i missing? |

Hey Wade, sorry to be picky, but you have to decide before the SR roll if the CV(s) cover(s) the landing or attack Tarakan. Note that you can mix. So far they are not if Jolo becomes a BH and is defended BY AIR ONLY. See 7.27 that amends and details 7.24 : "Any air and carrier units assigned to cover the landing where the new battle hex was created take part in that battle. If the newly created battle hex contains an air or carrier unit that was declared to take part in another battle within range and the enemy reacts into the hex then these air/carrier units will switch and resolve combat in the battle hex they occupy. REACTION UNITS THAT ATTACK THIS HEX AT RANGE DO NOT CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN, THERE MUST BE A REACTION UNIT PHYSICALLY IN THE NEWLY CREATED BATTLE HEX." |
