Eric - thanks for the very fun games! I have learned alot from playing you and appreciate your patience with my frequent errors! A couple of your strategies really took me by surprise. My only regret is not getting to use the forced discard card I have in my hand again this turn which I would play at the end of this round.... :) Would you be able to report results? I am going to be offline most of the rest of the weekend. Thanks again, Kelly |

Hello! Yes, I believe I can confidently declare Eric as the winner! I had some great ideas about strategies going forward, but it would be an uphill battle. We do have a question about a particular rule for the moderator. I will email it separately, but let me post it here as well: Union general + 6sp attack a CSA fort with a general and 2sp. Battle results in defender CSA winning battle, but losing all sp. Union retreats, does not take fort. Does CSA general go to the turn track or stay in the fort with 0sp? Thanks to both of you for this enjoyable game. Kelly |

Sorry it has taken me a bit of time. It has been my experience that a general in a fort is not removed if the fort is not removed. I think of it as the force not being eliminated since there is still the garrison (0 SP) remaining. The below link supports this understanding of reconciling Rule 5.34 and 7.35, but I am happy if you want to refer it to the tournement judges. BBG Post - Can a defending general survive combat alone in a fort? (5.34 / 7.35 interaction) | BoardGameGeek Please let me know your thoughts. |

Eric - you are correct about the 2nd interception opportunity; McKenzie by Armstrong. You should have had the option to intercept. Please let me know if I can do anything to make this right, or if you want to reattempt it - I can keep my attack roll or reroll if you want. On Price, I do think he has to go to the turn track. Researching, a lone general can be left in a fort with 0sp (5.34), however, that ability doesn't override 7.35, "When an Army or Corps is eliminated in battle, all generals... are placed on the Game Turn Record Track"; it doesn't seem there is any exception when you are the winner if the force is eliminated. The outcome of this attack is a little uncommon so let me know what you think. |

Two things on that attack. I think I had a chance to intercept from McKenzie. Just to note it. Also I think Price stays in Columbus with the fort. Although his two SPs were eliminated there is still 0SP in the Fort. Please let me know if you have a different view. |
