77 8/25/2026 11:55:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Meaning you still can play that card with troops that can
reach Ft. Gadsen or put the card back in you deck and do something else. You still have a move to make with that card or with another.
76 8/21/2026 11:09:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message No, MAC CAN'T make it to Ft Gadsen, so no losses. You'd have to find something in WDC to go attack Ft Gadson. You have to have access to the sea to make the attack.
75 8/20/2026 11:31:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message SO I end turn with McClellan an 2sp in Columbus, KY in the fort.
74 8/20/2026 10:50:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message That was confusing. McClellan CAN'T reach the sea.
73 8/20/2026 10:49:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Weeell, McClellan is in Cairo. He can reach the sea. CSA Forts in the way. Second, while the Fort and Foote +2 did cancel out, you had a 3-1 on the fort which is a +2, but rolled a 2 for a 4 total. Both sides lost one, and there was no * on your roll, so the fort won, though would be without a garrison. You have to use troops and leader who have access to the sea, right now on the west coast. IF there were no CSA forts in Columbus and Ft Jackson, then Lil'Mac would have a free route to attack Fort Gadson. AND, if you aren't running the guns, then winning the fight would leave the Union occupying the fort.
72 8/20/2026 10:03:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message attacker loses 1sp =2n Cairowith McClellan,
defender loses 0sp =1sp+fort in Columbus.

Hope that was OK.

Union may make a naval move with up to three SPs plus one general. If an amphibious assault occurs, you receive an additional +2 DRM. Add +2DRM to any Running the Guns die roll.

Message from Union:
McClellan and 3sp use Adm Foote with +2 DRM to move to Columbus attacking 1sp +2DRM for the fort.
68 8/10/2026 10:40:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Banks ends in Bloomington and Burnsides ends in Cinci.
67 8/10/2026 4:53:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message #55: 2nd move is Gen. Banks from Indianapolis to Bloomington 1n

So, both Banks and Burnsides are in Indy w/1SP?
66 8/10/2026 4:51:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Sorry. Burnsides is in Bloomington with 4SPs. Correct?
65 8/10/2026 4:50:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Okay, I see the problem in finding Burnsides. In several places you and I have typed Burnside_, without the 's'.

So, Burnside is in Cinny.
64 8/10/2026 4:45:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Burnsides

63 8/10/2026 1:16:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message In #55, Does Burnside move with Banks to Bloomington? When does Burnside move?
62 8/10/2026 1:02:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Jim, I don't know when he was moved. You don't mention him with your Campaign moves. If you moved him somewhere, where there are a fort or SPs, then just let me know where. If not, then place him with SPs or in a fort.
61 8/9/2026 10:21:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Bill, see action#57 for where Burnsides is. Let me know if you want me to have him in Bloomington or bring him on in turn #3.
60 8/8/2026 6:20:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Just FYI: ALL actions that aren't card play are written in Send Messages to Players including strategic moves and such.

I don't know where Burnsides is.
59 8/8/2026 6:17:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #54: 1 / CSS Virginia
Confederate may place one Ironclad in a controlled port or coastal fort space.

Message from Confederate:
The Ironclad goes to Ft Jackson.
58 8/4/2026 2:44:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message In strategic movement, you can move SPs, but not generals and generals can't be alone in a space except a fort. That is a problem because it anchors SPs sometimes.
57 8/4/2026 2:08:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message WDC 9n
Yes, Burnside was alone in Indi, but moved to Bloomington unless you want me to bring him in next turn.
56 8/3/2026 5:55:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message I have to clarify somethings:
How many SPs in WDC?
Is Burnside all alone in Indy? If so, he can't be unless he is in a fort.
55 8/3/2026 4:11:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #87: 3 / Minor Campaign
Conduct up to two moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Your process was right. Randomly pick one of those generals and then find out their actual fate.

44 7/23/2026 11:28:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Event #4: 1 / Costly Mistake
Pick an enemy army with two or more subordinate generals (includes Cavalry Generals) and randomly determine a target general. On a die roll of 1-3 the chosen general is killed and removed from play. On a die roll of 4-6 the general is wounded and removed from play, but re-enters during the reinforcement phase of the next game turn.

The routine at the start of the season is:

Reinforcements:  Union first, CSA second,
Strategic Moves: Union first, CSA second ,
Leader placement randomized IF more than one officer with infantry OR with cavalry:  Union first, CSA second.
Draw Cards.
28 7/3/2026 11:30:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message ...AND the third thing. You draw the cards for the next season AFTER the reinforcements, Strategic Moves and General placement.
So, after I place my reinforcements, you do your strategic moves, then I do, then you do your generals, then me. THEN we do cards.
27 7/3/2026 11:27:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Well, two things. 1. I do my reinforcements before you do your generals. 2. The generals come on randomly. The way you do it is by die rolls using 99 sided dice. State that the first three high rolls go to X, the lowest two go to Y and the rest to Z. You can have generals go wherever you want, just who goes where is random. Unless you have them all go to one place.
