Actually seeing the board again reveals a forgotten spent unit. I will have to ask your indulgence in switching the 54 depot to 37 in order to refit the flak unit there and leave the 709/739 spent in 54. The last turn went about as well as I could have hoped for a game in which the dice have been mostly neutral, albeit with wide swings. In your shoes I too would have considered a reroll to prolong the day, but I think you made the wise choice to save the Advantage given the board position. It is hard to see how the Germans can hold on for three more days. |

By your standards that is a poor start, judging by your average landings vs me. In my experience it's about average. The Allies can afford one disrupted beach if they are threatening elsewhere and you seem to have both flanks on their heels. Dennis and I go way back. Give him my commiserations on the Aaron Judge injury. As for the latest map scan, it looks ok to me except the 20/29 bridge should be down - not that it is likely to be much of a factor. |

So, on my newly started Ladder game I am playing Dennis Nicholson - It stared out SOOO WELL. I bid 7 for the Allies Merville CA was destroyed, Sword and Juno and Gold CA were all spent, Air took out CA in 19 and 52. Even the single 4th on landing captured the Utah beach and the British at sword killed both defenders. THEN.... on Omaha 3 interdictions and a lost battle has all US forces D1. The single unit on Gold failed (negative odds attack) but then the 2nd wave tied so the armor is D1 but Fort is destroyed. Finally the stack of Canadians drove the CA defender to D2 but still contests the beach. I have Sword, Utah as clear, Gold and Utah as contested (and still have armor in Juno yet to engage and Omaha has all D1 guys and Germans on that beach are all fresh. Mixed bag indeed. |
