There is a new Italian HQ unit that is NOT in my order of battle -- but it is in the VASSAL order of battle and enters on 2 Nov. It is the Bado 4 6 6 HQ unit. I brought it on with the infantry. We can discuss whether we leave it in play or not. I also complied with the rules and DID NOT bring in the 18/Metauro unit. |

Battle #5 is the counter attack of your Engaged result. HQ Grz, air support, 4-8 R DP, and 9-7-27 all attack for a total of 5+6+4+9 = 24 to 3(your unit is still Disrupted). 8-1 L1 for Italians attacking from Jungle, L1 for mountains R1 for air support nets a 7-1 surrounded. DBack = Elim. AA2 = 4-8 and 9-7 to hex 3225 AA3 = 4-8 and 9-7 to hex 3224 AA4 = 4-8 and 9-7 to hex 3223 |

Battle #4 is a 8-1 vs hex 3923. 2 9-7s in 4024 + 9-7 and 6-10 in hex 3925 + air support + 2 arty support = 47-5 = 9-1 reduced to 8-1 l1 for mountain right one for air is an 8-1. D Back is up to you. AAdv 9-7 2 and 9-7 30 into 3923. No other advance is possible. Please roll an 8-1 for this battle. |
| 87 | 11/2/2026 3:46:00 PM | Turn 1 | Scott | Message |
Battle #3 is a 1-3 soak off: 3-8 1E attacks hex 4023. 3-5 is a 1-2, but Right 1 for mountains makes it a 1-3. Please roll one 1-3 soak off attack. AB1 = 4124. AB2 = 4224. AB3 = 4324. No advance will be possible as I have other units attacking a different location from that same hex. |

Battle #2 will be an 8-1 vs your Blue leader in hex 3624. 88 2A is the attacker. 8-1, no shifts, no sourround, so D Back is up to you. Advance 2A one hex for all results. |

There are 5 attacks requiring 5 die rolls. My first attack will be: 4-10 RF, 4-10 EL, HQ A in support, and aircraft III 27 B for a total of 18 factors vs hex 3423 (4 factors) yields an 18-4 which rounds to a 16-4 which is a 4-1 Right one for air support nets a 5-1. Please roll a 5-1 attack. D Back is up to you. Adv 4-10 EL for all advances. Exch -- remove 4-10 EL and no advance in this case. |

I have to make one attack: 8 def vs r/DP at hex 3125; the It unit is on amba but that is negated because he also is in the jungle; the 8 tef is DIs, so it is halved to 3; so it is 3-4 (1-2); however the jungle requires one column to the right, so it is a 1-1. File coming and you can roll that if you agree |

Don't forget we each have reinforcements arriving with our next moves -- Nov 1 for you Nov 2 for me. ALSO, you have two units that I believe will begin your next move Disrupted: 8 Tef in 3226 and 9 Mar in 2618. I have already pulled a Dis counter onto the board in hex 2518. I have taken no action for 8 Tef. |

Last battle (#5)(Die Roll #7) is a 6-1 and the advance possibilities are LONG. Your defense factor is a 3 due to disruption. I have 27 factors attacking so I have to round that down to 24 an start with an 8-1. 2L for Amba, 1 L for river, 1R for air rounds down to a 6-1 in hex 4923. If D Elim, adv 9-7 and 8-8 to 4923 If Exch, remove 9-7 and advance 8-8 to 4923 If Dback -- follow the road -- 4921, 4920, 4919. If AA1 advance 9-7 and 8-8 to 4923 If AA2 advance 8-8 to 4823 and 9-7 to 4922 If AA3 advance 8-8 to 4822 and 9-7 to 4921 If AA4 advance 8-8 to 4822 and 9-7 to 4920 |

Battle #4, Die Roll #6. 8-1 vs hex 4227. 2 adjacent units plus 1 air and 2 HQ firing in support. 18+6+8 =32. 32-4 is an 8-1. L1 for mountain but R1 for air yields a straight 8-1. If D Back, follow the road. I am only going to be able to advance 1 no matter the result, so advance JUST 9-7 24 1 hex. |

Die Rolls #4 and #5. Battle #2 (Die Roll #4) is an 8-1 surrounded vs hex 3725. No column shifts for either side. All rolls result in a D Elim. If AA1, no advance please. If AA3 or AA4, then move the 4-10 to 3625. Not sure where to put the 6-10, so I guess he sits still. Battle #3, (Die Roll #5): is an 8-1, not surrounded and no shifts, so a straight 8-1. D Back up to you. For all Advances, just please move the 9-7 one hex to hex 3426. |
| 56 | 10/30/2026 3:23:00 PM | Turn 1 | Scott | Message |
Typo in that last battle. It is an 8-1, not a *-1. |

First 3 Die Rolls: Die Roll #1 is for a single air unit (L F) attacking hex 2414 in open terrain. Die Roll #2 is for a single air unit (15 B) attacking a stack of 3 of your units in hex 3823 in open terrain. Die Roll #3 is for an 8-1 ground attack in hex 3025 against Wahib Pasha. The air support off sets the mountains so it is a net *-1 surrounded. Do Not advance any of my units if an AA1. If an AA3 or AA4, then adv the armor car to hex 3123 and the 4-8 to hex 3125. |

I Started O and P in their proper locations, but then moved them; logfile should show this, but I suspect something else may be wrong. I knew about the entrenchment thing, but I was willing to sacrifice the unit because there is so much good defense terrain and I probably will be pulling back almost every turn. If OK, go ahead with your 1 Nov. |

You have two reinforcements in incorrect locations: O Mikael MUST be in Hex 3013, you have him in Hex 2915. P Damtew MUST be in Hex 4007, you have him in Hex 3810. I easily can go ahead and make these two changes at the start of my move. I don't think either one adversely affects the game. Is that OK with you? |

One thing I do on Vassal if there are a lot of units to move: I will set up two boards for the same move (a LOT easier to do virtually). One board is my experimental board where I might try out different moves until I get what I hope is the "right" move. I will then transfer that to my "real" board which I will send to my opponent and delete that "trying it on for size" board. |

This game is kicking my butt. I spent over 4 hours again trying to make a move and by the time I tried to record it, wound up making dozens of stupid mistakes. The more I tried to fix things, the worse I made the situation. I'm not getting the hang of this whole Vassal way of doing things. Too tired to care anymore about this move today -- will send what I have momentarily. You make this look so easy and I can't even spell my name. |

Die Roll #5 is my third and final 8-1 and my last Die Roll for this turn. Its an 8-1 against hex 3925. The Ethiopian unit is halved due to disrupt. 25 attack factors vs 3 defense factors is an 8-1. DBack up to you. Advance the armor car 1 hex |

Mark: I see only one issue with your entire move: Ras Seyoum (purple leader counter #5) began his turn on hex 4523 and Aberra (purple 6-10 combat unit) began his turn on hex 4224. I believe that puts Aberra out of Command Control and that would mean Aberra is Disrupted. You still have enough movement points for Aberra to reach the hex you specified (3925). But that will weaken your defense from a 6 to a 3 and become a more attractive attack for me. What would you like to do? |

Die Roll #4 is Battle #2, an 8-1 surrounded vs hex 4528. This unit is also surrounded at the moment of combat and so has a defense of 1 making this an 8-1 surrounded. If D Elim, adv HQ only. If DB4 that is an elim as well. On AA3, 2A goes to 4427, HQ goes to 4527. On AA4, 2A goes to 4426 and HQ to 4527. |

Die Roll #3 is for Battle #1. This is an attack on hex 2224 which is halved for being out of supply at the moment of combat. HQ is providing support and I am using my last aircraft factor on this battle as well so the air offsets the mountain terrain and this winds up as an 8-1 straight. D Back will be elim. If AA1, NO ADVANCE! If AA3 or AA4, both ground units advance to 2024 and no further. |

If Battle #4 is a 1-4, then just advance the three big units in 4928 into the vacated hex. If Battle #4 is a 5 = AA4, then those three big units fan out and surround 4926. This is way too complicated -- and i didn't give you advance and exchange info for 1923 either. How about rolling this far and contact me for instructions??? |
