1748 9/5/2011 10:28:00 AM Turn 38 G.B. McClellan Message Yeah, I think "amp confusion" means just that - everyone halts in plce while the head of the column tries to figure things out.

1746 8/18/2011 10:12:00 AM Turn 38 R.E. Lee Message W-L obviously
1745 8/18/2011 10:12:00 AM Turn 38 R.E. Lee Message The Random Event :

"Map problems - one division currently in column along a road must halt"

K-L halted : Would you find it normal the tail would catch up or not. I left it out there, extremely exposed so close to the enemy lines but still, just a question
1744 8/18/2011 8:54:00 AM Turn 38 R.E. Lee Message Movement and Close Combat Phase :
- Straggler Recovery Marker placement : See file
- Movement and Close Combat : file on its way shortly
- Ammo Resupply : See file
1743 8/16/2011 10:00:00 AM Turn 38 R.E. Lee Message Placed the arty in 50.64
1742 8/16/2011 10:00:00 AM Turn 38 R.E. Lee Message Sorry, K-L is 3/1

Your fire was in journal entries 1716 and 1617 for a total of 2 kills and at the end of last turn (your overview) K-L was 1/0 (journal entry 1603)
1741 8/16/2011 1:07:00 AM Turn 38 G.B. McClellan Message And I think arty should, as suggested, keep formation change 3 MP, but not be allowed to limber and unlimber in same phase. Makes more sense than penalizing limbering formation change by 1 MP. Let's stick with that.

I think that's everything...
1740 8/16/2011 1:06:00 AM Turn 38 G.B. McClellan Message Both fail. Arty moves to 47.63 then 47.64."

Find this a little illogical. I would follow the road away from the enemy here and it needs to be 6 hexes away from my units (please chack C-DH ext in 47.59). Please reconsider. (50.63, 50.64 makes much more sense)
------------------------

OK here
1739 8/16/2011 1:05:00 AM Turn 38 G.B. McClellan Message C-DH: 1/0 I have 2/1
F-L: 4/0 I have 5/0
K-L: 2/0 I have 3/1

3-1-5: 2/3 I have 2/4

-----------------------

Above correct except K-L should be 4/1. Was 2/0 at end of last turn, took 1/1 in my DF phase and 1/0 in my OF Phase.
1738 8/15/2011 12:11:00 PM Turn 38 R.E. Lee Message Before I continue, could you comments on my comments ?

1726 8/15/2011 11:34:00 AM Turn 37 R.E. Lee Message In journal entry your ammo was down to 253, you now spend one and the stock goes up ?
1725 8/15/2011 11:31:00 AM Turn 37 R.E. Lee Message "Both fail. Arty moves to 47.63 then 47.64."

Find this a little illogical. I would follow the road away from the enemy here and it needs to be 6 hexes away from my units (please chack C-DH ext in 47.59). Please reconsider. (50.63, 50.64 makes much more sense)
1724 8/15/2011 11:15:00 AM Turn 37 R.E. Lee Message So following the new convention :

Arty coming from 45.61, limbering = 3 MP, move to 45.62 = 2 MP (raining) then one road hex back to its stack in .

1723 8/15/2011 11:12:00 AM Turn 37 R.E. Lee Message "Some time back (when we were discussing a hilltop arty position for Stonewall Jackson, I believe) I'm pretty sure we changed the arty rule to: 3 MP to change formation, as normal, BUT only one formation change allowed in a given movement phase. Certainly that should be the case starting next turn. It preserves artillery's correct mobility in the game system but avoids the "artillery panzer" effect."

Nope, not correct we just mad limbering equal to 7 MP, hence one cannot limber, move and unlimber for wantof MPs. But if you want to change it and do it this way, fine as well. But lets stick to one way.

Arty in 86.53 cnnot get to 83.56. It is still raining. So 4 MP to limber and alredy 5 MP to get to 86.56. No way it can spend another 3 MP to unlimber, that would be 12 in total. I have pleced them limbered in 87.56

Same story with Arty in 46.61, it comes from 45.61 and was unlimbered. So limbering = 4 MP and than into a forest when raining = 8 MP, unlimbering in that hex = 3 MP, so total 15 MP. I have placed the unit unlimbered in 45.62"

Some time back (when we were discussing a hilltop arty position for Stonewall Jackson, I believe) I'm pretty sure we changed the arty rule to: 3 MP to change formation, as normal, BUT only one formation change allowed in a given movement phase. Certainly that should be the case starting next turn. It preserves artillery's correct mobility in the game system but avoids the "artillery panzer" effect.

Correct that the three arty units mentioned at top are limbered.

In the case of 46.61, I didn't realize it was at the bottom of that stack and just dragged it along. However, it may remaon with that stack, but limbered. It limbers, goes to 45.62 then one road hex back to its stack.

I also don't know how I accidentally dragged the 3 Corps artillery piece. It should stay in 86.53, facing west.
