And I think arty should, as suggested, keep formation change 3 MP, but not be allowed to limber and unlimber in same phase. Makes more sense than penalizing limbering formation change by 1 MP. Let's stick with that. I think that's everything... |

So following the new convention : Arty coming from 45.61, limbering = 3 MP, move to 45.62 = 2 MP (raining) then one road hex back to its stack in . |

"Some time back (when we were discussing a hilltop arty position for Stonewall Jackson, I believe) I'm pretty sure we changed the arty rule to: 3 MP to change formation, as normal, BUT only one formation change allowed in a given movement phase. Certainly that should be the case starting next turn. It preserves artillery's correct mobility in the game system but avoids the "artillery panzer" effect." Nope, not correct we just mad limbering equal to 7 MP, hence one cannot limber, move and unlimber for wantof MPs. But if you want to change it and do it this way, fine as well. But lets stick to one way. |

"Please note that on my map all arty in 119.70, 119.71 and 119.73 is limbered Arty in 86.53 cnnot get to 83.56. It is still raining. So 4 MP to limber and alredy 5 MP to get to 86.56. No way it can spend another 3 MP to unlimber, that would be 12 in total. I have pleced them limbered in 87.56 Same story with Arty in 46.61, it comes from 45.61 and was unlimbered. So limbering = 4 MP and than into a forest when raining = 8 MP, unlimbering in that hex = 3 MP, so total 15 MP. I have placed the unit unlimbered in 45.62" Some time back (when we were discussing a hilltop arty position for Stonewall Jackson, I believe) I'm pretty sure we changed the arty rule to: 3 MP to change formation, as normal, BUT only one formation change allowed in a given movement phase. Certainly that should be the case starting next turn. It preserves artillery's correct mobility in the game system but avoids the "artillery panzer" effect. Correct that the three arty units mentioned at top are limbered. In the case of 46.61, I didn't realize it was at the bottom of that stack and just dragged it along. However, it may remaon with that stack, but limbered. It limbers, goes to 45.62 then one road hex back to its stack. I also don't know how I accidentally dragged the 3 Corps artillery piece. It should stay in 86.53, facing west. |
