Will go ahead with the battle to keep the game active.

Battle of Nacogdoches (Medium 6 vs 4 SPs). DRM:

USA. 1 Buell 2 CSA OOS for 3
CSA. 1 Price 2 intercept for 3

441 1/28/2017 2:06:00 PM Summer 1864 Union Message I decided it might be important and fair for you to think over if Price leaves someone in the fort. I will sign off for now and check later.
440 1/28/2017 1:14:00 PM Summer 1864 Union Message Good to hear from you, but sorry about the computer. Can only imagine.

I may come back in a little while to do the battle, but...I will have to assume that Price took both SPs with the intercept. If you want to keep one in the fort, please let me know. I will keep the site up for now.
439 1/28/2017 12:08:00 PM Summer 1864 Confederate Message Price successfully intercepts ... not playing a battle card (would have had to play interrupt card before attempting intercept).

Once again, my apologies for not being very present here. In addition to all the other fun stuff going on, we got a virus of some kind on our old computer (which needed replacing anyway) so I had to get a new computer set up in the interim.

Leaving tomorrow (Sunday) am for a 3 day trip -- I am flying Sun-Tue throughout February as well.

423 12/13/2016 7:07:00 PM Summer 1864 Union Message CORRECTION: When AoC arrived in Vernon it became 14-1. I did NOT reflect that on the AoC SP total.
FOR LAST MOVE: to make it simple, put 1 USA SP in Vernon, so AoC made the move with 13 as described and is now 15-1 attacking AoNV.

Union may make a naval more with up to three SPs plus one general. Move may pass one ungarrisoned fort without “running the guns” to conduct an amphibious assault (may not pass an ironclad). Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.

419 12/5/2016 4:43:00 PM Summer 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #102: 3 / First Manassas
Confederate Player may move 2 SPs using Strategic Movement from the same space using rail connections only (5 space maximum) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. OR play this card as an automatic 2 space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during the intercept.

382 9/14/2016 7:02:00 AM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #130: 3 / Union Siege Guns
Union plays card at beginning of a battle (or Amphibious Assault) that has a Confederate fort present and cancels Confederate fort die roll modifier in the battle. Remove from deck if event is played. Draw a strategy card.

Message from Union:
Activate Buell and 6 in Sabine City. Attacking 2 CSA divisions in Nacogdoches. Intercept attempt with Price? Battle card? I will not be playing one (as I am using it for operations).

Note: I had really wanted to use this as a bc for its own value and that it is one that allows for drawing another strategy card. Problem was not having GOs with strategy ratings of 2 or less in positions where attacking a fort made sense. I had only 1 other three card, but needed that for play elsewhere. I will check back from time to time.

USA: +2 (AoW OOS)
369 9/11/2016 8:04:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #31: 2 / Contraband of War
Confederate removes two SPs (Union chooses), no more than one SP per space. Void after Emancipation Proclamation has taken effect. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
AoW (11-1) > Grafton > Weston > Lewisburg to attack the Union SPs therein. From your previous post, I will surmise no card to play.
368 9/11/2016 2:32:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #6: 1 / Ambush
Target any enemy cavalry general not located with an army and make a casualty die roll. On a die roll of 1-3 the cavalry general is killed, on a die roll of 4-6 there is no effect.

Message from Union:
Activate Sherman and 4 in Parkersburg. Charleston; Lewisburg pu Burnside d1 n3, w/2 in Lewisburg; Wytheville; Lynchburg d Burnside; Charlottesville d 1 n2 w/2 in space; Staunton d2 n0; Strasburg and end in Manassas with AoP.

Note: To help any battles with USA SPs in VA, I will not be playing a battle card and do not think I can or would even want to intercept with Burnside. However, if a CSA force makes it to Strasburg I would want to know for a possible intercept by AoP.

Will send map file and check in later today.
367 9/11/2016 9:49:00 AM Spring 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #120: 1 / Horace Greeley Editorial
If played by the Union increase Union SW by 1. If played by the Confederate decrease Union SW by 1.

366 9/9/2016 9:32:00 AM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #41: 2 / Gov. Isham Harris, Tennessee Confederate
Confederate immediately places two SPs in any friendly controlled space in Tennessee with a LOC (both SPs are placed in the same space). SPs may not be placed in Pro-Union spaces or one occupied by Union SPs or a fort.

Message from Union:
Activate Burnside in Frederick. DC pu2, DC n2; Manassas; Wilderness pu2 n4; Gordonsville; Charlottesville d1 n3; Lynchburg d1 n2; Wytheville d1 n1 and end in Lewisburg.

357 9/6/2016 9:52:00 AM Fall 1863 Union End Turn
356 9/6/2016 9:51:00 AM Fall 1863 Union Message I started with 108+ and now 100-, so some effect.

Almost done with EOT looking very correct so far.

355 9/6/2016 9:39:00 AM Fall 1863 Confederate Message End of Turn

USA PCs: McKenzie, Dover, and Clarksville TN (USA controls 6 of 23 spaces in TN)

CSA PCs: Columbus, Zanesville, and Coshocton OH (CSA converts OH); Johnstown PA (CSA converts PA)

USA takes control of Kentucky. CSA loses -10 SW and USA gains +10 SW.

USA 118(+) / CSA 43(-)

CSA now controls PA and OH, so CSA gains +10 SW (and +2 more for CoF) and USA loses -10 SW (and -3 more for CoF).

USA 105(-) / CSA 55(+)

USA loses -5 SW for war weariness and CSA loses -5 SW for war guilt and -3 more for CoF.

USA 100(-) / 47(-)

USA attrition: AoC (5-1); AoP (5-1); Sabine City (5); Harper’s Ferry (4)
CSA attrition: AoNV (3-1); Nacogdoches TX (2) [A lot easier to not lose SPs to attrition when you don’t have very many of them!]

USA SPs = 54
CSA SPs = 31

Next turn, USA gets 17 more and CSA gets 10-13 more, so the differential increases by 4 more there.

CSA started end of turn with 43(-). With the taking of two Union states and loss of Kentucky, CSA remains on the (-) side and only goes up to 47. Disappointing … basically just stayed kinda’ even.

354 9/6/2016 9:02:00 AM Fall 1863 Confederate Message In a stunning shift of luck of the dice for the CSA, no generals were killed in the battle. Reynolds goes to the turn track.

AoW (3-1) d1 and Van Dorn in Coshocton (2-1) > Zanesville (d1, 2-1) > Columbus OH and stop (1-1).

End result was what I was trying to accomplish, but Reynolds made it very expensive and almost stopped it. Losing the extra SP when Forrest was killed really sucked.

End of turn coming up.
353 9/6/2016 8:55:00 AM Fall 1863 Union Message Just to let you know I am here and watching. May be some bad luck, but you are doing the worst case scenario I imagined...but at a cost.

Message from Confederate:
Of course it is a max effort outcome for you. CSA wins 3*-2. Reynolds is killed on a "1" and AoW loses another general on a "1-3". Reynolds' corps is destroyed.

CSA first and USA second for casualty DR.

350 9/6/2016 8:49:00 AM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #73: 1 / Ball's Bluff
The Union removes one SP (Confederate chooses) within two spaces (including a river connection) of a Confederate SP due to poor leadership. A Union SP can be removed from a Coastal fort.

Message from Confederate:
This turn would have ended much better if I'd had better cards, but the best I could do was end up with two "1's" and a "3", with the 3 being played to prevent the loss of the Mississippi River. Now, the loss of a cav general and resulting loss of 1 more SP means I cannot drop an SP in Johnstown and then attack Reynolds with a 3-1 ratio. Just multiple instances of bad luck hitting my side all at the same time. Bummer.

Activate AoW (6-1), convert Pittsburgh, and d1 (5-1) > Johnstown (d1, n4-1) > Pittsburgh (pu1, n5-1) > attack Reynolds on Coshocton. You already stated no avoid battle, so battle is next.
349 9/6/2016 8:24:00 AM Fall 1863 Confederate Message Was there even any doubt that Forrest would be the one killed? Of course not.

Pegram to the turn track for turn 12, and 1 SP to the track for next turn. AoW is now 6-1.

Message from Confederate:
CSA wins 3*-2, but it was the worst possible outcome for Lee (win was guaranteed). Reynolds + 2 retreat to Coshocton OH and he is killed on a "1". AoW (7-2) must remain in Pittsburgh and loses a general on 1-3.

Rolling for GO losses, CSA first and USA second.
