Your reaction has issues:

Eniwetok is the battle hex, no non-air/non-carrier units can leave it.

Reaction range is 10 spaces, my op card was a 2, so Okinawa unit can't reach the battle hex. Couldn't reach even if it were 15.

The space my carriers are in at A is not a battle hex so you can't react there.

The only effect reacting to this offensive can have is assuring you won't be surprised.

Being in a battle hex freezes surface units. Air and carriers can leave the hex but must still participate in the battle there.

You could theoretically reinforce B but I see no units that can reach there in 10 spaces.

There was only one battle hex. Carriers have range so don't need to enter BH.

On your reaction air was correct, within range but not in BH. Reacting air can't enter BH.

Your BBs enter the battle hex and there's one battle only.

I did 62 (in hex units and the carriers)

You did half of 36 (24 from BBs and 12 from air with card bonus) = 16

A key part of combat in EotS is that all units must be flipped before any can be eliminated. Sometimes if you have the right multiples you can avoid damage.

In this case 62 exactly flips all your units with none elim. I didn't plan that, just dumb luck.

Had I done 60, one unit would remain unflipped and none of the flipped units would take the hit.

You did 16 to me. You can flip any single unit or both the 8 defense cruisers. Not sure what's better but in the file I flipped the two units. Change if you like.

Reacting player PBMs first. But I went ahead as it usually doesn't matter much who does it first.

If you can intercept you could move 4 ships (incl. your battleships in Kure) to Kwajalein and there'd be a battleship shootout prior to the ground combat. It's four because I played a 3 Ops, and your HQ is a 1.

If after the naval battle I don't have greater strength in hex I can't invade.

But looking at it now it seems suicidal. Still the sea invasion needs to be resolved if you're not moving units.
