831 3/10/2017 8:45:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message It is worth noting that the last couple turns can unbalance everything (something I have never experienced). Maybe next time we will see that. You play well enough to not likely get booted early, so it could be long game or bust.
830 3/10/2017 8:44:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message Regarding another game - now that you're hooked lol - we can pick the same sides. I want to show you what I can (maybe) do if I commit myself to focus. Maybe throw in the optional cards for kicks (something new for both of us). Then again, maybe not quite the time for that yet...
829 3/10/2017 8:42:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message Regarding how you like it - yep, I know you well enough. Recall I said with 100% certainty that you would love it. I don't say that lightly :-)

The real fun comes in playing this face to face. No other way of playing comes close. If we both know the game it can be played in a long day. You should consider coming to my house for that at some point.
828 3/10/2017 8:41:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message I know you want to play to the end - but the writing is "mostly" on the wall. I have some tricks I can play in the Near East, but that's about it. There is a game in the Balkans that I critically under-played, due to mismanagement, so that front is quiet. You probably didn't realize that the Serbs can't leave Serbia and stay in supply once Belgrade falls. That includes taking Sofia from the Bulgarians. You were weak there, but I didn't have the balls to push anything, and the cards I needed I pooped away stupidly.

I let my foot off the gas at the wrong time, took zero advantage of the Italian situation early, etc., etc...

So much to think about in this game. Your history with chess pays off indeed.
827 3/10/2017 8:40:00 PM Summer 1917 Central Powers Message Right on. I appreciate the compliments, and I'm certainly down to play again. I want to try out the good guys for a change.

As I said, I'm going out pretty shortly, but from tomorrow on, feel free to start up a new game.

On a note of grander scale, I would say this game is probably the best of the tabletop war games i've played. It feels more streamlined and faster paced than TCW, without feeling rushed at all. It's a well designed game, and I can see the potential for a lot of depth.

So, you know, you were right about how I would like it lol
826 3/10/2017 8:35:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message I am going to concede here. I know the game well enough to know that, barring just the right set of circumstances, I cannot come out of this. If I didn't have Sedan and Brussels, it would be over already.

I didn't want to say earlier as it might take away from your play, but I made a couple of strategic blunders on my end that permitted you to build up to where you are. Alas, still learning the nuances...

You played very well and picked up the game incredibly well - better than most people do who are learning it. As I said, I gave a bunch of pointers, but you generally figured out the flow yourself.
825 3/10/2017 8:32:00 PM Summer 1917 Central Powers Message Well you do actually get migraines sometimes, so I took it literally.:)
824 3/10/2017 8:31:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message Funny. The "head hurting" statement is from me focusing so hard on a way out of this mess.
823 3/10/2017 8:30:00 PM Summer 1917 Central Powers Message I'm going out pretty shortly, so feel free to wait until you're feeling better to proceed.
822 3/10/2017 8:28:00 PM Summer 1917 Central Powers Play Strategy card as Operations #54: 5 / H-L Take Command

Tarnopol: AH4A to Zherinka
Czarnowitz: GEc and AH5A to Vinnitsa
Mannheim: GE14A to Strasbourg
821 3/10/2017 8:22:00 PM Summer 1917 Central Powers Message Thanks. That is all really good stuff to have clarified.
820 3/10/2017 8:21:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message NE answers:

Only armies that can operate in NE are BR NE army, RU CAU army and the 2 Turkish armies; no others.

You can only SR one non-TU corps per turn. I believe you can "walk in" as many corps as you like.

Dot means no RPs, and thus permanently eliminated when it dies. The SN is a corps.

819 3/10/2017 8:16:00 PM Summer 1917 Allies Message Dubno armies go to Umman, take back K-P along the way

Vinnitsa army goes to Odessa.

816 3/10/2017 8:06:00 PM Summer 1917 Central Powers Message NE clarification questions.

So for SR, I can only move one Corps into there per turn that isn't TUc, and I presume no armies may SR there, right?
What about walking in through Constantinople or Caucasus? Can any army operate there if they take the long way?
And lastly, the dot on the YLD, NEA, Cau, AoI, SN, and MEF are permanently eliminated when beaten, but they can still be flipped by RP if only wounded right? For that matter, is the SN a corps or an army? I expect corps.
