293 4/11/2017 10:58:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Message That one hurt though. I really thought I had something going in taking LA and blocking Texas. Had the Frederick punch not worked, my plan was to take Mobile and shut down the EGBZ.

289 4/11/2017 12:34:00 AM Fall 1862 Union Message I didn't even see it coming. I thought I was trying to avoid going below 0 with the loss of DC again. Well, eventually I'll do credibly at this by discovering every possible way to lose!
288 4/10/2017 11:34:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #16: 2 / Grierson's Raid
Union may place two Union PC markers in any spaces within four spaces (includes river connections) of a single Union cavalry brigade. The four space range cannot be traced through Northeast Alabama and may not contain a Confederate SP or Fort, but may contain an Ironclad or Torpedoes.

Message from Confederate:
Don't see why Kentucky is a sure thing ...

3) Decatur, pick up 1 (n2)

That leaves me with 3 spaces in Kentucky (Columbus, Bowling Green, and Lebanon), and denies you the state.

so with CSA SW at 86+, it's a Confederate victory.
287 4/10/2017 9:25:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #130: 3 / Union Siege Guns
Union plays card at beginning of a battle (or Amphibious Assault) that has a Confederate fort present and cancels Confederate fort die roll modifier in the battle. Remove from deck if event is played. Draw a strategy card.

Message from Union:
So wanted to use this, but still risky w/o a decent general. Now wish I'd fortified Capital. Given the choice, I'll take the sure KY over the less likely chance of your visit to DC.

269 4/4/2017 11:46:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Message True, but 2 can never be odd, so the odd/even part of the equation could only apply to the numbers, not the letters. Though Q is odd, never trust Q.
The high/low part must then refer to the lettes, no?
268 4/4/2017 11:36:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Message In a vertical list of numbers, '1' is higher than '2', is it not? That's where my cognitive dissonance arises!
267 4/4/2017 11:26:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Message But 1 is odd and 2 is not. Sorry, I thought it was elegant and clear. I was wrong.
Don't worry, my logic on the move will no doubt fail when Lil'Mac can't roll a 1-4 to intercept!
266 4/4/2017 11:21:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Message By that logic, "1" is higher than "2". Obviously, you meant what you meant, but please be less ambiguous next time.
265 4/4/2017 11:16:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Message P is higher in a vertical arrangement of letters than W. I was trying to use 1d6 to select from two different options. The card said randomly, but specified actual numbers for the latter action.
So 1,3,5 would've been Price and 2,4,6 was Wheeler. The second 1d6 was per card 1-3 death, 4-6 injury.

264 4/4/2017 11:04:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Message I'm having trouble following your first roll.
"Alpha-numeric, odd high", so even low, roll of 4 => Price, not Wheeler. What am I not understanding?

261 4/4/2017 10:31:00 PM Fall 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #4: 1 / Costly Mistake
Pick an enemy army with two or more subordinate generals (includes Cavalry Generals) and randomly determine a target general. On a die roll of 1-3 the chosen general is killed and removed from play. On a die roll of 4-6 the general is wounded and removed from play, but re-enters during the reinforcement phase of the next game turn.

208 3/31/2017 1:09:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message None possible! Overrun.

Yeah, the hope was to retreat to Manassas, fight the battle at 15-4 +6/+6, pull off the victory, and run. Probably would have had the same result, but I would have had a chance ...
207 3/31/2017 12:54:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message Oh, how I wish I'd just accepted your mistake, but I looked at your roll. Indeed, it does not compute. You fail only with a 6 not with a 1.
ANV retreats to Manassas.
2 - Flag Frederick, drop 2
34 - DC, flag
5 - Manassas
response?
206 3/31/2017 12:39:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message O!M!G!
I actually won?
I was convinced some new Deus ex Confedmachina would steal victory from the jaws of defeat.
Processing victory...does not compute Will Robinson.
