I forgot how good they are in melee. Of course I have Engineers with the same ability but couldn't quite get them into battle.

246 3/24/2017 12:23:00 PM Turn 7 Russians Message I have no problem with ending the game. I was actually somewhat shocked, surprised, perhaps demoralized when the new 88 showed up. I did consider running with my T-34s and then simply killing enough Germans to win on points. But if the T-34s run they have to present their weaker flank armor so they MUST engage the 88 as you describe and, yes, odds are in my favor with so many tanks and only one 88 in a trench this time rather than a bunker.

I wish to resign this game. I see no way to defeat 17 steps of T34s before losing another 2 steps of 88s…and you having an enormous Initiative advantage.
Funny thing -- instead of taking the 88, I would have gone with my plan to Advance infantry and then melee with the tanks…except with these Order cubes, that plan would be impossible (no 6 or 7 cube, and using an 8 to Advance would give you the Initiative - so I couldn't melee, anyway!
I think the game was trying to tell me something ("Get out, now!").

The bunker is still there and my tanks cannot, of course, use it. My interpretation is that if you enter the hex with your infantry (via an Advance Order) with my tanks standing guard you can sneak around them and into the Bunker since, again, it specifies that you can freely enter and exit with, apparently, no MPs spent.

The way I read the rule a gun or infantry unit may "freely" enter or leave entrenchments or a bunker during an Advance, Move or Assault order. I take this to mean that NO movement points are spent to enter or leave which means no OpFire can go against that move. Anyway, your 88 could have entered the bunker last time it moved with the Advance Order you did as well.
