Message from Confederate:
Ironclad in New Orleans.
197 4/21/2017 12:24:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message I think you are stopped since I won but was eliminated. You can do the file so that your move is straight, my next play is easy so then you can go on as I am exhausted after a busy day and then travelling late.
196 4/21/2017 12:14:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Since you had extra movement points, would stay.

193 4/21/2017 12:08:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #100: 3 / Shiloh
Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5.

Message from Union:
Reversion to the mean is a bitch, no? Too bad I kind of wasted a move on Columbus.
AoP leaves 4 in DC (n4), p/u 1 in Baltimore (n5), drop Buell/1 at Manassas (n4) and on to pursue Jackson.
192 4/20/2017 11:55:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Yes, those resource spaces can really be tough.

After Jackson's valley defeat, you are up (and BTW, you have had enough campaigns for awhile).
191 4/20/2017 11:53:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message And who is complaining about die rolls. Got the one you needed, but atleast not the 5 or 6 (and then the 1 to kill Jackson).
190 4/20/2017 11:49:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message 2/3 modifies to a 5/8. CRT 1/1, defender wins. Your retreat in enemy controlled territory costs another SP. Banks/1 in Winchester.
Jackson/1 in Strasburg.
Not the start of a campaign to be studies in military academies for a 150 years....

Message from Union:
I had seen that exception, but didn't connect the dots that Columbus was a resource space which made my victory nearly impossible. Another pique with the CRT/rules interaction. Good play really requires know these backwards/forwards. At least it distracts your nascent army in Memphis.
I think Curtis will intercept w/2 as it gives me a 1/3 chance of killing all 3 and sending Stonewall to the TRT.

188 4/20/2017 12:52:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Moves made.

You can intercept Jackson with Curtis if you want. You can also choose to leave 1SP behind in the fort if you do intercept.
187 4/20/2017 12:49:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message You actually can if you want.

185 4/20/2017 12:47:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #83: 3 / Major Campaign
Conduct up to three moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Confederate:
Need to recover some.
Move 1: Longstreet with his force to Columbus, 8 spaces.
Move 2: Forrest to Millen, GA, 10 spaces
Move 3: Jackson alone
1: Hanover, pickup 3SP
2: 3SP, Gordonsville
3: Culpepper
4: Strasburg
5-6: Winchester, drop 1SP
7: Strasburg
184 4/20/2017 12:29:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message But I get to laugh at you, because, by rule 7.33,

Exception: When a Union Amphibious Assault against a
space with no fort loses the battle and the Confederate force is eliminated, the Union force still retreats and does not capture the space (6.42).

Then, by rule 7.10,

* In case of ties in non-Resource/non-capital spaces, the defender loses the battle. A destroyed Resource Space still helps the defender. A national or Union State Capital is considered a capital space

THUS, you cannot win on an amphib attack against a resource space unless I rolled a 1 for a zero casualties to you.
