102 6/24/2017 4:53:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Event #6: 1 / Ambush
Target any enemy cavalry general not located with an army and make a casualty die roll. On a die roll of 1-3 the cavalry general is killed, on a die roll of 4-6 there is no effect.

99 6/21/2017 2:25:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message FYI: Really swamped with work...might be intermittent this week.
98 6/20/2017 9:08:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message I think its extremely rare at this point, at least with Lee defending it. As Richmond is a resource space, the defender always wins ties so a roll of 2 would have been enough for you.

I think you should have sent 1 of your cavalry commanders there however as cavalry leaders are too important in an army. Helps with intercepting and retreating too.

And yes, my movement is over so back to you. Fort destroyed .
97 6/20/2017 1:55:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Yeah, this is my first game so...is Richmond falling pretty rare this early? Did I under-defend it?

Also, you have to stop right? am I up now?

93 6/19/2017 4:01:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message I did check the rules but didn't realize the precise meaning of referring to a "force" (meaning the whole stack). Thanks for bearing with me, it's my first game :)

Ok, on to combat...

92 6/19/2017 3:57:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Oops, that attempt failed no matter what so it doesn't matter. But just remember that if you intercept, you go with full force.

You can resolve combat, I'm attacking with 11 SP (forgot to decrease). I have +3 DRM for generals.
91 6/19/2017 3:53:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message If you intercept, its either full force (you can leave 1 SP if the space left has a fort) or no force.

That being said, do you wish to intercept with Lee and with 5-6 SPs?

74 6/18/2017 2:31:00 AM Fall 1861 Union Message 1) Sure, corps move can pick up cavalry brigade and drop it. Only restriction is that it counts as a second general a corps move can move around. So that is cool

2) Stuart will turn St. Louis neutral and cut LOC. So no Union PC-placement in MO.

3) I have naval control in St. Louis and Alton however so you can't cross the river with smith and his SPs. You would need a fort/Ironclad in St. Louis to be able to move into Salem. Only way to move between St. Louis and Alton is to have a fort/ironclad in Alton.

So everything else is correct, but you can't cross rivers during that movement. So little corrections needed.
73 6/17/2017 5:21:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #42: 2 / Kentucky Anarchy
Remove up to three enemy PC markers in Kentucky. You must also remove one of your own PC markers from the state if you have any there. Removal of a PC marker makes a space neutral. Remove from deck if event is played.

My understanding of the rules:
1. A corps can pick up a cavalry like an SP and drop
2. Stuart will clear the US flag in St Louis and prevent union control of MO

Let me know if any of that is mistaken and I will rethink my OPS.

Message from Union:
Fort in Manassas.

And to your question. Those SPs I moved from Wilderness etc using non-rail connections are special army strategic moves. Check 10.21 for more detail.

Basically it allows to move SP straight into the army if its supplied and has LOC to the army space. You can use normal, rail or sea movements or even combine all of them if necessary. It was something I learned while playing my first games. It helps to keep army SP-count up even if its deep in enemy territory.

42 6/13/2017 2:38:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Lets see its in 7.33 talking about winner being eliminated. Of course if the attacker wins but is totally eliminated, everything stays put. But if defender wins and is eliminated:
1) if there was fort, attacker retreats
2) if there was a defending general, movement stops
3) if neither was present, the attacker can continue movement if it had at least twice the strenght.

But ok, I'll move Bragg to Columbus and make my next action.
41 6/13/2017 1:24:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Yep, understand that the fort is lost, but still wanted to plug the leak and eliminate the SP.

In a tie the attacker loses, and I don't see an exception for defender being eliminated. Maybe I am missing it somewhere.

Anyways, if I can occupy Columbus I will, and do not want to move any further.
40 6/13/2017 9:16:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message You can advance and continue movement as you started the fight with at least twice more troops and there was no fort/general in space. Remember however that capturing coastal forts if its blockade runner port is taken only applies for Union. Even if you took control of Columbus, you wouldnt get Fort Gadson back. So if you wish to do something else, its fine.
39 6/13/2017 1:55:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message 1-1
From what I am reading I lose, even though I eliminated the defender. So I cannot continue or advance into Columbus.

6 6/6/2017 12:28:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #102: 3 / First Manassas
Confederate Player may move 2 SPs using Strategic Movement from the same space using rail connections only (5 space maximum) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. OR play this card as an automatic 2 space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during the intercept.

Message from Union:
OPS. AoP activated. Leave 2 SP (3) in Washington
1 MP Frederick, drop 1 SP (2)
2 MP Harpers ferry, pick 2 (4)
3 MP Attack J.Johnston in Winchester

Responses? You can choose to play any interruption cards or if you wish to attempt retreat, just roll dice and see if it succeeds.
5 6/6/2017 12:20:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message Not at all. You only need to press end turn after both of us have played their cards and we are ready to move on. You don't have to pass initiative by any other means other than sending a message. But trust me, its extremely simple to use and you will know it in no time.

Adding my first action soon.
