139 9/17/2017 5:29:00 PM 1758 Early Season Britain Return Strategy card to hand #53: 1 / Rangers

Message from Britain:
138 9/17/2017 7:56:00 AM 1758 Early Season France Message OK, I think to be fair we can take your move using a Campaign.

1. Take the Rangers card back into your hand, play the Campaign instead and retreat Amherst > Louisbourg (less the step losses you took) and then Forbes > HCN. I had Levis there, who took a hit on you and then retreated to Ticonderoga.

2. I will return my four step losses to Montcalm's force.

3. VPs back to FR1.

3. I will play Courier Intercepted as ops (I wouldn't have played it as an event in this situation), moving to Ill d'Orelans, then by boat to Crown Point. I will then destroy fort in Ticonderoga (VPs to 0). That would have been my move had we been in this situation - with a 1OP card, but happy to take the hit on Courier.

What do you think?
137 9/16/2017 2:36:00 PM 1758 Early Season Britain Message Oh, I guess that you would still have played courier card had I retreated to Louisburg. You would however, have to move to d'Orleans at some point to destroy the Amphib marker. If you did that after playing courier card you would move only to Ticonderoga.
136 9/16/2017 2:31:00 PM 1758 Early Season Britain Message I should have rechecked your move. It is my fault that I did not, but I just wasn't looking for an experienced player to make that type of error. What I would have done had you placed Montcalm at Quebec was play my campaign card and move Amherst back to Louisburg and get Forbes to HCN. My next card would have been to start fort construction there assuming you did not attack (I was looking to be defender against your 28 SPs) and drive me away. Thank you for your willingness to correct the error, but I cannot go along with returning the courier card to your hand to play again as an event. Perhaps the only thing to do is apply the tournament protocol in case of error. What do you think.
135 9/16/2017 9:34:00 AM 1758 Early Season France Message Alternatively, if Amherst wanted to attack Montcalm in Quebec, you can move Forbes back to HCS and resolve the attack in Quebec?
134 9/16/2017 9:24:00 AM 1758 Early Season France Message Meant Ill de Orleans, not Ill aux Noix.

133 9/16/2017 9:23:00 AM 1758 Early Season France Message Yes, you're right - I'd actually only moved Montcalm to Quebec on the map. But the order was wrong.

I can take my last card play back into my hand, replace Amherst back to Ill-aux-Noix and Montcalm in Quebec. Was your last card play to move into HCN anyway? If so, you can keep that card play and I can redo my turn? I would not play Courier with Amherst at Ill-aux-Noix.
132 9/14/2017 9:30:00 AM 1758 Early Season Britain Message I have just realized that your move to D'Orleans was not legal. That was 10 space move. You could make it no further than Quebec.
131 9/14/2017 8:12:00 AM 1758 Early Season France Message Damn it, that's twice now. You would have thought the 2s would have run out...

129 9/14/2017 8:09:00 AM 1758 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Event #35: 3 / Courier Intercepted!
On a roll of 3-6, randomly draw one card from opponent's hand and place it in your own.

Message from France:
Let's try this one again to knock you down another card.
128 9/14/2017 8:07:00 AM 1758 Early Season France Message How much would I have loved those 3x2s to be 1s! Would have wasted some card plays getting a leader there. I remove the CdB and Levis retreats to Tic. You can flip a 2-4 I guess.

Amherst's amphib assault wasn't dumb - after my mistake in HCS, I couldn't really afford another major battle while you have VPs to play with.

124 9/13/2017 9:13:00 AM 1758 Early Season Britain Message Amherst's rash (and dumb) move proves a mistake and he takes a serious hit. loses 6 steps. 5 regulars reduced and 1 eliminated. Retreat to Louisburg

French take 4 hits. I flipped 4 regulars.

VP track to 2

I should have tried to reduce Montcalm's army before moving. you would have lost some regulars. Battle result however, would have been the same. Amherst should have coordinated more with Forbes. Breakdown in communications.

62 8/30/2017 7:50:00 AM 1757 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #6: 3 / Surrender!
Play in place of a roll on the Siege Table. At Louisbourg, you must already have Siege 1 or 2. Capture the fort or fortess intact. Enemy player places defenders at his closest unbesieged fortification.

NOTE: The deck will be reshuffled before next turn's cards are dealt.

Choose any 2 unbesieged French leaders on the map and reverse their locations. (You may not choose Louisbourg if "Louisbourg Squadrons" removal has disallowed French naval movement.)
