574 8/13/2018 7:37:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Message I left 2 there in msg 552 but it wasn't the clearest since I moved back into Pitt and out again later in that move. That 2nd move didn't pick up or drop off anyone though.

Army had 7, Pitt had Burnside/5 (and fort), Army picked up Burnside/3 and left 2 behind.

I'll roll for casualty tonight since I'm not at the board.
573 8/12/2018 11:39:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Message USA loses a leader. I will let you roll for it as I'm not sure who all you have in the army.

BTW, do you have SPs in Pittsburgh? I don't have any there on my map but I think it may be wrong. At the end of the turn, I think we should do another sanity check to makes sure both maps are in sync.

570 8/12/2018 8:08:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #22: 3 / Josiah Gorgas, Chief of Ordnance
Confederate immediately receives three SPs in any friendly controlled space with a LOC,free of Union SPs and forts. No more than one SP per Confederate controlled state. No SPs may be placed in Pro-Union spaces.

Message from Union:
I need a more drastic attack. Activate AotM, attack AoT in Humboldt. We both are +5 on a medium battle.
569 8/12/2018 8:07:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Message Ok, so I can still AA the space but you'd have an extra +2, so a 1* would no longer be an autowin for me. But that only matters if you get a 6 - otherwise I still win with a 1* and lose otherwise. Hmmm....

564 8/11/2018 12:32:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #117: 3 / Clandestine Blockade Runner Port
If the state of Florida and the St. Marks, Florida space is Confederate controlled, St. Marks is treated as a blockade runner port for the remainder of the game. Place (no LOC required) 2SPs and a fort (optional if available) in the St. Marks space. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:
MacPherson/2 leave AoT (n6) and amphibious assault Dover. I don't believe the PC marker in Louisville matters since I have naval control on the Ohio / Tennessee / Cumberland / Mississippi from the North down until I run into the forts at Memphis and Dover.

AA modifiers: my +1 and your Fort at +2 cancel to leave you with +1. You also have +1 for leadership of Pemberton and I have +2 for MacPherson, so it's a small battle at +2/+2, correct?

If you agree with both statements then go ahead and roll.

549 7/18/2018 1:20:00 AM Spring 1864 Confederate Message That's how I read it too. Think I have some MPs left so will move back to Lebanon and end there.

You can attempt to intercept if you like. If you do and are successful, go ahead and roll (my DRM will be +3) and then you can move. Otherwise, AOW ends up with 5 SP in Lebanon
548 7/18/2018 12:46:00 AM Spring 1864 Union Message I thought I could retreat back as long as I ran the guns again, but reading 7.62 again I think I can't.

"As long as the retreat path is traced along rivers that are under Union Naval Control, the path may pass thru CSA controlled spaces and CSA SPs.

Since the Nashville-Dover path is not under UNC, it may not pass through the CSA-controlled space. So looks like I have to retreat by land which will cause an extra SP loss and eliminate the force and send Hancock to the turn track.
547 7/18/2018 12:30:00 AM Spring 1864 Confederate Message 1, 2* CSA Victory

Now the next question is can you do a naval retreat via a non-Union controlled river. I read 7.62 but not sure I am clear on it though it does mention something about controlled river. Take a look and see what you think

Believe you have a +5 to my +1 on the medium battle chart. My sole solace being that if I roll a 6 I will beat any 2* result because it's a resource space. Probably not my smartest move but I'm starting to get desperate at this point.
544 7/17/2018 11:19:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #111: 2 / Wilson’s Raid
Union may place two Union PC markers in any spaces within four spaces (includes river connections) of a single Union cavalry brigade. The four space range CAN be traced through Northeast Alabama. These PC Markers (in contravention of rule 11.3D), CAN be placed in blockade runner ports/ and or resource spaces devoid of Confederate SPs or forts (but may contain an Ironclad or Torpedoes), resulting in their immediate destruction. Remove from deck if event is played.
