215 9/18/2017 12:27:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Remember Dave, although CSA can get 3* on virtually all medium battles with the dream team, the asterisk doesn't help in Capitals or resource spaces.
214 9/18/2017 12:09:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message 90% of the SP's in the DC area? That would leave essentially nothing for the Union to do anything in the West. Just a series of small conflicts and given the Unions awesome array of generals very little to no progress.

I was thinking that is I could break through in the west you would have to spend some of your resources and cards out there. But just like chess as long as you remain on the offensive in the east the west does not matter. How far can I really get with worthless generals no matter how many troops I have.
213 9/18/2017 11:55:00 AM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Dave,
You are really close on this game, but you MUST place more forces around DC to stop the CSA when all their Generals show up. I definitely got lucky breaking down your forts last turn, but with all those Union guys in Kentucky eventually attrition would have enabled me to take DC. Totally your call if you want to play it out. I don't have any more campaigns, but I have Mud march and Choctaw Indians which is a great combo to take two cards out of your hand. I have an article from a C3i about defending with the Union. They recommend like 90% of SP's going to the Northeast till Grant shows up. Two armies, and forts all over the place. What is your cell number. I'll take a picture and send it to you if you like.
212 9/18/2017 11:48:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message If you are getting your head handed to you by others that puts me on a scale of 1 out of 5 in skill. Maybe 1.5 as I could beat a total newbie.

I will continue to look at Thunder in the East more today. Trying to decide if it is to big and complex to jump into or pretty easy to learn.

The only super complex game that I keep in my aging brain currently is EOTS. LOL
211 9/18/2017 11:42:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message We can play it out if you like but I have no shot at all unless I am wrong. DC is a given and should also be able to get multiple turns of MD and PA with my limited supply of reinforcements after you close off the trans routes.

I am now beyond frustration. Unless I am playing a total newbie this game is not for me. I have tried multiple time to learn Ftp and get into it but I ALWAYS get wiped out. I seem to do better with Mark Simonitch's US Civil War. I guess when I need my ACW fix I will turn to that.
210 9/18/2017 11:31:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message It is pretty hard for me to have any sort of chance when you out roll me every single time.
209 9/18/2017 11:31:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message Neither loses a general. Now that I look at it even a fort at Fredrick would not save me. Other than rolling a 1 you are going to get a modified 10 every time meaning you will win 83% of all medium battle. If I survive once I am surely not going two survive twice.

No shot for the union.

206 9/18/2017 11:22:00 AM Summer 1862 Union Message The Union is completely screwed here. I can't intercept and leave the back door open. My only shot was you not getting a campaign card. We can play it out but I suspect that it is game over pretty quick.

1) You are good at this game.
2) I am marginal at best
3) My luck is so horrible that it is beyond belief

Add them all up and it is a slaughter.

186 9/17/2017 4:51:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message End or turn.

Union takes Kentucky. Big Deal. Thanks to the your good play and the awful luck with the dice the game is now centered on the east which is what the Confederates want while the Union wants it centered in the west. Not a chance of that now thanks to the last battle in Kentucky. BAD BAD JOKE that was.

+12 SW (10 and 2 for COF) for the Union now at 116+.

PC Marker placement.

Somerset for the Union.

Attrition.

Union: Lose 1 from AoT now n5

Confed: One from each of the AoT and AoNV. Now at 6 and 5.

That is all that I can see. File up and I will play my reinforcemnts on the next onw.
