884 10/30/2019 4:17:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message sorry for the long delay, work to prep for vacation with all spare time filled with prepping for con muling games and getting them ready then returning with very little sleep and a massive stack of work awaiting me.
883 10/21/2019 7:16:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message It was a business trip, so it went well-I got back as scheduled! If you get your move done, that will be great but again, no pressure. I'll still be here. I can do the end of turn stuff if you finish your move and find that you are strapped for time.

If I don't post again, have a great vacation!
882 10/21/2019 4:42:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message huzzah! how did it go? i will try to move tonight before I leave tomorrow.

877 10/12/2019 5:42:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message No problem, take your time.

However, I want to let you know that I am departing on a business trip tomorrow afternoon. I may be able to get a play in tomorrow but if not, I will most likely not be able to move until the following weekend.

876 10/12/2019 10:58:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Iíll re arrange troops, not sure how that got mixed up

Will move today. Iíve done no vassal if any since Monday due to being sick.
875 10/9/2019 6:28:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message More bad news for the Union Generals! Thomas joins Little Mac, Sheridan, and Butler by making the ultimate sacrifice. That one will surely hurt.

As far as the AoMís SPs are concerned, if you look at your entry #855, you will see that after the large battle, the AoM lost 4 SPs and were down to 3 SP (not 4).

I donít think that impacts the latest battle results at all since Stuart was successful in his interception. However, assuming the AoM had only 3 SPs before the battle in Fayetteville, I believe that there would only be 4 SPs with the AoM after the AoW dropped off reinforcements.

Take a look and let me know if you agree. If you do, then I am ok if you want to revise Jacksonís last move to distribute the SPs in a different fashion.

874 10/9/2019 10:25:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #20: 3 / Union Arms Production Delayed
Confederate removes two Union SPs (Confederate chooses). No more than one SP can be removed from a space and the SP cannot be the last SP in the space.

866 10/9/2019 10:01:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message i have 4 SPs in the army of Miss already so you will not be getting the force ratio even if I do not intercept.

i'm debating the intercept still.
865 10/9/2019 9:13:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message The plot thickens, will have to look and study before I react
864 10/9/2019 5:30:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message Ok,Ok. I didn't really think that you'd intercept but had to ask just to be sure. I'll leave and SP there now and save us the time.

Union Blockade Level is increased by one. In addition, if Fort Philip/Jackson does not contain a CSA SP place a friendly PC marker in that space.

Message from Confederate:

Union may make a naval more with up to three SPs plus one general. Move may pass one ungarrisoned fort without ďrunning the gunsĒ to conduct an amphibious assault (may not pass an ironclad). Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.

851 10/5/2019 5:38:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message on vassal, you converted Goldsboro and not WEldon, fixing in my log.

850 10/5/2019 1:10:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message I guess, your only real choice was to intercept or not as I entered Weldon. You did not intercept, so I would have converted Weldon before moving on to Goldsboro so that I could have attacked in supply.

5. Convert Weldon
6. Goldsboro (and then Lee retreats)

So, my turn is over now and it is your play...
849 10/5/2019 12:31:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message Sorry about that. I only meant that if you retreated, I would continue to move. I did not mean to insinuate that you would need to make the moves for me. However, your guess is pretty much dead on!

I will log your move and my follow up
848 10/5/2019 11:07:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Are you ok with that? It sounded like you said you wanted to continue which meant to me keep driving at lee. If so, then you end in Goldsboro out of moves and Lee is in Fayetteville

Message from Confederate:
Iíll leave you alone and then you are going to be using your next point to convert and then 6th to attack me. Lee wants to conserve manpower and will attempt to retreat to Fayetteville

844 10/3/2019 4:32:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message 1-1. Hancock wins but his force is eliminated and Hardee advances into Shreveport but his movement is done thanks to Hancock involvement. Hardee w/1. Hancock to the TT BTY.

Message from Confederate:
Hardee decides to re-open communication between TX and the rest of the CSA. 2 to 1 battle, Hancock cannot retreat due to having no adjacent space to go to (can't go by sea either thanks to my forts). +3 for me (enemy OOS and Hardee) and +1 for US, no need to roll US therefore.
842 10/2/2019 12:58:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message You are correct in your assumption. No reaction/card play from me. Always scary when your opponent plays a campaign card!

You may continue with your 3rd move...
841 10/2/2019 1:16:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message 2nd. defensive crouch continues, only 1 more season after this boys!!! AOT/Longstreet army of 3 SPs leaves 1 behind, n2, 1st to Paducah, 2nd-4th to Humboldt, pu1, n3. back to Columbus and halt, join for 5.

going to pause before 3rd activaiton in case you wanted to do anything. i highly doubt it since you are not getting cut off anywhere but just in case.
840 10/2/2019 12:53:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #84: 3 / Major Campaign
Conduct up to three moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Confederate:
let's use this before you discard me wagain or something. i have so many things I need to do and so little time. AOW activates but leaves 1 SP behind. n5. 1st-Macon and fight with auto 2*-1 enemy elimated, keep moving, n4 due to losses. 2nd - 5th to augusta, pu 2, n6. 6th to Branchville, SC...I'm coming Lee!!!!
839 10/2/2019 12:37:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message great timing for you, just in time for war weariness in the fall.
838 10/1/2019 8:10:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message I updated the Vassal File. I also included the +1/-1 SW impact of the Fort in Richmond from last turn. I think we are "up to date" as far as SW is concerned.

CSA SW: 48- -10 -1 (Fort in Richmond last turn) = 37-
US SW: 79+ +1 (Fort in Richmond from last turn) -5 (Emancipation) -3 FOW = 72-

Flip GT Marker

CSA takes 3 SP losses then BTY for card 3...
837 10/1/2019 1:33:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Will do and you are correct, your overrun counts per rule book. And then you won another battle just to take the cake. Iíll make a log with the proper adjustments
836 10/1/2019 12:54:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Event #81: 3 / Emancipation Proclamation - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player must play this card as an EC on the Strategy Round immediately following a Union large or medium battle victory. Confederate loses 10 SW and 3 SPs (his choice). Union loses 5 SW. Flip GT marker to its Emancipation Proclamation side. Card must be the last one played by a player at which time it can be played as an OC card. If the play of this card as an OC results in a battle victory, there is no Emancipation Proclamation Remove from deck if event is played. If this card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at the end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Union:
I believe that I must play this card as an EC after the overrun at Petersburg during my last turn. I am away from my computer now so am unable to update the SW/turn marker in the Vassal file. However, I will do so this evening. If you are anxious to make a move before that point, please feel free to update yourself before your next card play.
835 10/1/2019 12:52:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message Ouch, I am sure that is not how Jubal drew that battle plan up! I save my cancellation cards for another time. ;)
834 9/30/2019 3:42:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message that could not have gone worse. 1-3 disaster. Early to the TT after a miserable failure, AOT only loses 1, n6.

831 9/30/2019 3:40:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #19: 1 / Belmont
Either player may move up to two infantry SPs from the same space as if led by a General. This move is a Corps move and may enter enemy controlled spaces because the SPs are moving as if they are led by a general.

Message from Confederate:
activate Jubal Early and 2 of his SPs, leaving 1 behind. 5 MPs to Fayetteville, pu 3, n5, 6th-Goldsoboro, drop off 2 SPs, n3 with Jube, n7 with A of Miss. 7th attack. Ole Jube launches himself 3 vs 7 in New Bern. i highly doubt you would want to attempt a retreat but will roll to see if possible. you would have to go back to an original union state port so doubly unlikely. if you ended up having an activation cancellation, so be it.
830 9/25/2019 8:46:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message No problem, take you time to plan something. I also reviewed all the SW stuff. I think there is also the -1/+1 SW Fort Loss that I think we need to record. If you agree, you can adjust before your next move.
829 9/25/2019 2:01:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message ok, i'm going to need to think about this more. lots of pitfalls to avoid and i need to hit back some rather than keep just defending even though the game is drawing to a close.
828 9/25/2019 1:42:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message sorry 48

827 9/25/2019 1:25:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message in addition to what you did on SW, tack on -15 more lost SW for the CSA. I'm now at 49(-)
826 9/25/2019 1:22:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message going through methodically, i double checked and in some places it was ambiguous bu there the rule is clear, when you enter the capitol and nobody is there to defend it or you win a battle and occupy at end of battle, the gov't is put to flight and the SW consequence is immediate.

12.6 National Capitals
Each time the Union player must relocate his capital, he loses 30 SW points. Each time the Confederate player must relocate his capital he loses 15 SW points. This penalty is paid the instant the Capital piece is removed (11 .22). There is an additional 10-point SW penalty if the Capital piece is not placed in one of the appropriately designated replacement spaces [11 .23].
825 9/22/2019 5:01:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message I think you did everything right except for is soon as you enter the space with my capital peace, you make it scatter and we affect I think right there. But I will look again. I do know that I can no longer place PC markers this term except for with an army
824 9/22/2019 2:02:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message Move #2

Activate the AoP
1. Culpeper
2. Gordonsville, pu 1 SP (n6)
3. Hanover
4. Richmond; Fort Destroyed, Government in Flight
5. Convert Richmond; resource center destroyed
6. Hanover

CSA SW: 75- -12 = 63-
US SW: 65- +12 +2 FOW = 79+

I think the SW Loss for Loss of Capital only takes effect during the Political Control Phase if Richmond is not re-captured by the CSA. Let me know if you see any issues with any of the PC / SW stuff.

Otherwise, Abe can go to bed feeling good about the day's work and BTY for card 2Ö

823 9/22/2019 1:28:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message Couldnít ask for a better roll, but still not quite enough. You are correct about the result: 5*-5, but since it is the Capital, Defender wins.

AoC (n10) retreats back to Petersburg

AoNV is eliminated with 5 SP loss

Johnson, Polk, Ewell go to track, Wharton is out of Game (due to time)

I am not 100% sure but I am going to assume that the battle finishes first and then the army elimination from a SW perspective. If that is wrong, then we can adjust the SW as needed.

For Large Battle results:
CSA SW: 77- +3 (Battle) +2 (COF) = 83+
US SW: 73+ -5 (battle) -3 (COF) = 65-

For Removal of AoNV:
CSA SW: 83+ -5 (loss of Army) -3 (COF) = 75-
822 9/22/2019 12:10:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message No worries. Iím hanging around house today. That attack worked extremely well. You almost won the battle against me but I believe Iíve now lost my army (destroyed it 5*-5 right)
821 9/22/2019 11:43:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message Unfortunately, I need to run some errands now. However, I will try to finish up later this afternoon if possible.

818 9/22/2019 1:55:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message cruel, cruel fate. JJ is too slow and Sherman rides roughshod over the meager division holding Petersburg. BTY with 1 MP remaining. JJ's doom is now almost certain.

809 9/15/2019 9:58:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message So action on you to do something about my 6th MP attack.

You can fix vassal with fort on your move
808 9/15/2019 9:57:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message You are correct, I will leave my move and let you decide if you want to intercept or do something else if that nature.

Thankfully itís a coastal fort and not a regular fort so it still doesnít fall for SW and blockade purposes until you place a PC there.

If Lee can successfully clear that force in NC then all will be ok a bit longer
807 9/15/2019 8:03:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message On the amphibious assault on Ft. Monroe, I was calculating the +4 DRM from the net Amphibious Mod of +2 (+4 Amphib Assault Mod Ė 2 Fort = +2) and the 3-1 SP ratio for another +2 giving the Union +4.

Assuming that is correct, then the Union result from the battle will be 3+4=7 which is a 1* result and a Union victory.

Let me know if you agree with that. If you do agree, then I am ok if you want to revise your move/card play.

let's activate Lee and the A of Miss, 1st-4th - Williamsburg-Drewey's Bluff-Suffolk-Weldon. 5th convert Weldon-6th attack Goldsboro and the lone SP. Burnside and the army of Tennesse can attempt to intervene. either way, I will use my best generals at +6 DRM For Lee/Stuart/Hill

you may play a cancellation card, INT card or possibly roll for interception. I'm out of MP either way.
