453 1/16/2019 11:40:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message that made me chuckle about Banks. At least he died a hero, a posthumous medal is the least that he deserves.

take your time and safe travels.
452 1/15/2019 5:51:00 AM Spring 1863 Union Message My work is wrapping up in Thailand, so I finally got a chance to look closely at the battle of Frederick. Abe is ecstatic about the result. It is very unfortunate about General Banks, as I feel like he was just about to turn that corner on a path to Martial Greatness.

But somebody had to lead the charge against against Fort Frederick! Definite Metal of Honor candidate!
451 1/8/2019 1:17:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message i'm going to think on this over the night and do my move tomorrow.
450 1/8/2019 1:17:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message whelp the war is over. You don't get to have Banks the rest of the war. How will the Union carry on XD

last is the SW change. CSA: -1 and -3 FOW = 107-.......US: +1 +2 FOW = 67+.

now to me.

446 1/8/2019 1:01:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message phew, finally after all the baby stuff, Christmas and New Year's and a late family visit...it's all done and tomorrow we return to normalcy.

I will catch up on your log and respond tonight

445 12/15/2018 9:09:00 AM Spring 1863 Union Message 4. Convert Gettysburg
5. Frederick.

Reaction? If there is a battle US will use best generals for +5 DRM. You can roll the battle. I can also if prefer, but in that case let me know your supporting generals or DRM.
444 12/14/2018 11:47:00 PM Spring 1863 Confederate Message ok, i stay put in my fort in Frederick for now. can't afford to get to outstretched with you having so much manpower and my LOC very narrow.

proceed.
443 12/14/2018 11:32:00 PM Spring 1863 Confederate Message glad i could help in some way with teaching ACTS. it is indeed a well timed B-day. Mine is Dec 11th so we are back to back.

His name is Calvin, he was 6 lb and 10 oz. picture incoming on email. wwe finally got home from hospital tonight!!
442 12/10/2018 7:10:00 PM Spring 1863 Union Message Wow! A new baby for Christmas! That is awesome! My son was born on Dec 17 many years ago, but it made for a great holiday.

If you can get a few FtP moves in that’s great but don’t sweat it! I’m not going anywhere. Actually, I am playing in the Great Campaigns of the American Civil War (GCACW) PBEM Tournament, and just today, I walked my opponent through the art of logging moves in ACTS while exchanging Vassal Log files through dropbox. You taught me well, Master!

Again, I wish you and your family the best and when you get a chance, let me know Name(s), Weight, and all that good stuff!

441 12/10/2018 12:14:00 PM Spring 1863 Confederate Message hey there, baby delivery got moved up by cardiologist visit last friday so we are heading over to hospital shortly to have baby delivered. i will be at hospital during the day time for a few days but will have free nights to do some plays finally as my mother-in-law is going to be handling night shift.
440 12/3/2018 8:57:00 PM Spring 1863 Union Message Oooh. I did not even think of that! That would have been nasty!!

Well, I will count my blessings that you did not have “Mud March”!!

Thanks again for the strategy tip, I really do appreciate it.
439 12/2/2018 8:41:00 PM Spring 1863 Confederate Message Let me think, be careful making a first move into the space with another army. If I had mud March I could play it and since two armies can’t end in the same space it would force you to dissolve one army with all the attendant SW penalties.

I don’t have a mud march card but would play it if i did

420 11/11/2018 12:59:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message I'll stand this time at +2 fort and +4 generals. Do you have a card to play? I'm asking since this is a large battle and big time consequences.

if you do or don't play one, then I will resolve the battle and any gen casualties since your move is done regardless afterwards.

Roll d3 to see who goes to DC:

1. Grant
2. Pope
3. Rosy
408 11/4/2018 7:09:00 AM Spring 1863 Union Message Good Job with the Fix, it looks like it worked out great! I actually did not realize that we had to manually set the deck to reshuffle in ACTS. Good to know.

Abe is getting angry about his isolation so demands action in the East! Unfortunately the rest of the country is looking a little sparse!

I noticed that Bragg in Newman GA has 5 SP. However, I think we missed the attrition there from last turn. Bragg moved there with 4 SPs after leaving 1 SP in Mobile (entry #335). He was reinforced to 5 SP during your most recent Reinforcement phase. With the attrition, I think he should be at 4 SP now. I am going to make the adjustment, but if I missed something, let me know and we'll adjust him back to 5 SP.
407 11/4/2018 2:20:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message since Grant is coming on the map, i will wait and see what happens with generals before i decide on initiative.

402 11/4/2018 2:13:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate End Turn Deck was reshuffled.

401 11/4/2018 2:13:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message but first my strat moves. Man, 30 brigades worth of blue coats in the East...it's hammer time :*(

1 from Pensacola +1 from Madison AR each to AONV, n4
1 from Monroe LA +1 from NOLA, n2 left > AONV, n6
1 from Baldwin FL > join Jackson in Strasburg, VA, n3
1 from Marion SC > AOM in Staunton, n4
1 from NOLA, n1 > Strasburg with Jackson, n4. that is it.
400 11/4/2018 2:01:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message actually i know what we can do.

we can move turn forward and then use edit turn to move it back. and then we will have fresh deck also.
399 11/4/2018 2:00:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Set Deck Reshuffle Deck will be reshuffled before next deal
398 11/4/2018 1:59:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message another screw up....neither of us ever set the deck to re-shuffle. so the deck should be completely fresh when we go to draw cards for this turn. hmmm...maybe there is a way to re-shuffle it now but I'm not sure.

387 10/31/2018 7:10:00 PM Spring 1863 Union Message Here is what I'm thinking about the card dilemma. I am thinking that you could:

1. Manually discard your 7 cards.
2. Do your Strategic Movement
3. Use the "Draw Extra Card" link to get 7 new cards.
4. We will set the deck to reshuffle after this turn.

If I were a card counter (which I am not, too advanced for my game) and wanted to see the discarded cards, I can view the discard pile so we'll both have the same knowledge going forward. We just reshuffled the deck so I don't think that it is a big deal there. You could be holding the FI card (or some other dandy) but I don't know that. What do you think?

I will go ahead and do my Stat Movement in any case.
386 10/31/2018 12:28:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message wait, i'm completely mixed up i'm sorry. i still have strat mvoes though....not sure if there is a way to undo the card draw or if it's ok to proceed as is. i could pay a penalty of 1 or 2 of my 7 strat moves as penalty.

363 10/6/2018 7:32:00 AM Fall 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #82: 3 / Foreign Intervention - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player can play this card as an EC when Confederate SW is 110+. If this is the last card in a players hand or the second to last and the player holds the Emancipation Proclamation, if the condition is met, it must be played as an EC, if not it can be played as an OC. EFFECTS: 1. Union Blockade reduced by one (cannot become greater than 4 for the remainder of the game). 2. Union -2 SP Reinforcements for the remainder of the game (Union choice). 3. Union SW reduced by 10. Remove from deck if event is played. If card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Union:
I'm glad you couldn't play that last card as an EC. Nobody wants Frenchies and Brits in the Western Hemisphere!
