385 12/30/2017 6:41:00 AM Summer 1863 Union Message The victory at Richmond after the 1st activation was unexpected. I planed to use my 3 activation to reach this goal.

Maybe during Summer 1862, you should have move back your 2 armies to a safer place.
Autumn 1862 was the moment of the game: 2 CSA armies destroyed, Jackson and Stuart killed, and your 3 cavaleries brigade sent to TT until Autumn 1863.

But I have some difficulties to play CSA too (I lost my other game as CSA player again Michael Mitchell): attack or defense?

Good luck for the rest of the tournement and if you want to play other game, it would be a pleasure.

Thomas
384 12/29/2017 10:52:00 AM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Well played. Good game.

I should have just gone for Washington when I was close. I didn't want the game to hinge on one battle, though.

When I couldn't manage to get the raids I needed I decided to go over to the defensive and play the long game. I had enough SW and should have been able to mess around in KY and MO that I'd have run out the clock on you and maybe gotten a raid or two out west. That Major, plus your great luck in taking Richmond was huge.

By my calculations, after you burn the resource and convert VA, I'd be down to 27 SW. With average rolls, 20 of that would be lost to the blockade by the turn 13, requiring you to take me down a whopping 7 more points to win the game.

291 12/17/2017 6:51:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #105: 1 / Detached Cavalry
Played prior to a battle against an army possessing one or more cavalry brigades. The ONLY effects are the Army’s Commanding General’s battle rating (offense or defense) is immediately reduced by 2 and no Cavalry general’s battle ratings may be used in the battle. The effects end at the conclusion of the battle. Cavalry generals are not available for casualty determination. OR: Place one PC marker in any space within four spaces (includes river connections) of a single cavalry brigade. The four space range many not be traced through Northeast Alabama. The space may not contain an enemy SP or fort, but may contain an Ironclad or Torpedoes.

Message from Confederate:
