77 2/19/2018 7:23:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message The Union loses 5 SW due to the card (our SW started the game as negative, so we don't lose an additional 3 SW).
76 2/19/2018 7:19:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #14: 3 / Red River Campaign
May not be discarded by the Union. Union must use this card as an OC. If at the conclusion of movement, a Union SP is not on or adjacent to Grand Ecore, LA, then the Union loses 5 SW points. If a Union SP is in one of the objective spaces then a Union PC marker can immediately be placed to convert the space or spaces. Remove from deck if Union plays card.

Message from Union:

74 2/19/2018 5:11:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #42: 2 / Kentucky Anarchy
Remove up to three enemy PC markers in Kentucky. You must also remove one of your own PC markers from the state if you have any there. Removal of a PC marker makes a space neutral. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
73 2/16/2018 2:25:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #60: 2 / USS Monitor
The Union player may remove one Confederate ironclad from the mapboard.

Message from Union:

72 2/16/2018 2:06:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #61: 3 / Ship Island/Key West
Union Blockade Level is increased by one. In addition, if Fort Philip/Jackson does not contain a CSA SP place a friendly PC marker in that space.

Message from Confederate:
I build a fort where Johnston and Stuart are located. I think it is Nashville.
71 2/16/2018 1:55:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message We build a fort in Frederick, MD instead.

Now it's the Confederates turn.
70 2/16/2018 1:38:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Scratch that. I just realized that I don't have LOC in New Orleans yet because Forts St. Philip/Jackson won't get a Union PC marker until the end of the turn.
69 2/16/2018 1:25:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #28: 1 / Franz Sigel
Union immediately receives one SP in St. Louis, MO space if no Confederate SPs or fort are present, whether it is controlled by either side or neutral; OR Confederate plays card at the beginning of a battle and receives a +2 DRM in the battle.

Message from Union:
We build a fort in New Orleans, LA.

Confederate gains 5 SW points. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
66 2/16/2018 9:43:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message I was also very confused by Rule 7.33 that talks about when the winner is eliminated, since the defender usually wins ties. However Rule 6.81 states: "An ungarrisoned fort or coastal fort attacked by Amphibious Assault has a nominal strength of 0 SPs for combat calculation purposes, and automatically loses all ties in combat if the attacker has any surviving SPs after losses are taken." This means Rule 7.33 doesn't come into play because the defender lost the battle.
65 2/16/2018 9:38:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message What confused me most were the rules on Amphibious Assaults (6.41).

I thought you were supposed to add/subtract both sides' DRMs so that you wound up with just a single DRM for one side. However they are talking combining the "Amphibious" DRMs (forts, ironclads, etc.). All the normal DRMs (general ratings, force ratios, etc.) are applied normally.

Hence for our recent battle, the fort gave you a +2 Amphibious DRM, whereas I got a +4 force ratio DRM. If you had an ironclad present (+2 DRM), you would wound up with a +3 combined Amphibious DRM, because that is the maximum "Amphibious DRM" allowed. I still would get the +4 regardless.
64 2/15/2018 11:00:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Rule 7.33A implies that the defender wins, but I believe that is assuming the fort was garrisoned because Rule 6.81 is very specific about what happens in the case of an ungarrisoned fort.
63 2/15/2018 10:54:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message You are right, my mistake, I forgot to include the +4drm force ratio that the attacker gets. Rule 6.81.
62 2/15/2018 10:38:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Please explain all the DRM’s for that last attack.
I definitely don’t get what just happened
61 2/15/2018 10:17:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message We lose one SP, but take the fort.

59 2/15/2018 10:15:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Event #59: 2 / Farragut
Union may make a naval more with up to three SPs plus one general. Move may pass one ungarrisoned fort without “running the guns” to conduct an amphibious assault (may not pass an ironclad). Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.

Message from Union:
2 SPs from Washington DC amphibiously assault Fort St. Philip/Jackson. The Confederates get a +2drm.
58 2/15/2018 10:09:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message I believe I lose two units and you lose one. You take Marshall back and I have to retreat to Nacogdoches.

After further thought, you might have the makings of a Confederate leader after all!
57 2/15/2018 9:42:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Confederates 6+3= 9

1 = result of Confederate modified roll 3+2=5

We both lose 1 SP. The defender wins. However the defender was eliminated. Because the defender had a general present, the attacker occupies the space, but their movement ends. Meanwhile General Braggs goes to the Game Turn Record Track to return in the next Reinforcement Phase.

Confederate immediately places two SPs in any friendly controlled space in Tennessee with an LOC (both SPs are placed in the same space). The SPs cannot be placed in a Pro Union space or one occupied by Union SPs or fort.

Message from Union:
Burnside +5 move to Nacogdoches, TX. Note that General Bragg (in Marshall, TX) cannot intercept because his defensive rating is "0".

Burnside +4 attacks Marshall, TX (leaving one unit behind). The small battle would be +3DRM for the Union (4-1 ratio) and +2 for the Confederates due to the Union being out of supply. Note that General Bragg (in Marshall, TX) cannot retreat since his defensive rating is "0".

47 2/15/2018 3:52:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message I have just updated the map according to your changes, with the lone exception that you build an SP in Marshall, TX, but you cannot strategic transfer an SP into there. You can build an SP in Shreveport, so I did that instead.

Changes I might suggest you consider:
Relocate the unit in Charleston, NC to Richmond, VA
Relocate the unit in Wilmington, NC to Paducah, KY
Relocate the unit in Savannah, GA to Winchester, VA

Relocate the following three entities into Monroe, LA: General Bragg from Marshall, TX, SP from Shreveport, and SP from Mobile, AL

Although I might be inclined to surrender TX and put General Bragg and the two units in Springfield, LA to try defending the Mississippi or else put them in the Cumberland River area.
46 2/15/2018 12:52:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Actually if possible I build a unit in Marshall

The actual URL to which you get redirected by using the above URL (you can use either):
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JYdmMu1wcmDFwFw-tjg_Xg50oOBKUzn7

I believe you can do the following if you want to add the map to your cell phone:

1.) Open Safari and navigate to the website: https://tinyurl.com/forthepeoplemap

2.) Tap the share button from the middle of the bottom menu. (I believe it might be an icon that depicts an arrow that looks like it's trying to get away from a square.)

3.) Scroll over and choose "Add to Home Screen".

4.) Name the icon on the Add to Home window. (I suggest something simple like "ForThePeople" or "FTPMap".)

5.) Tap "Add" to save the new icon to your Home Screen.

The map has been updated with the exception that I haven't included your -2 SW yet.

31 2/14/2018 9:07:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message I believe you only added 11 reinforcements, whereas I think you are entitled to 12 (9 + 3).
30 2/14/2018 9:05:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message Transfers:
4 SPs are transferred from Washington, DC to Sabine City, TX

25 2/14/2018 8:52:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message No, you make a die roll for each of the four zones individually and have to roll above the blockade value. However you only get to roll for open zones. See the last sentence of Rule 10.51. By the way, it looks like you get a -2 SW penalty as well.
24 2/14/2018 8:51:00 PM Spring 1861 Confederate Message Reinforcements are placed in

Pensacola, FL
MANASSAS, VA

I would assume that would have SW Effects
22 2/14/2018 8:39:00 PM Spring 1861 Confederate Message Your blockade level is 0 I believe so that I get 13 SP ‘s.
21 2/14/2018 8:37:00 PM Spring 1861 Confederate Message I definitely feel like this is a practice game. Let’s play it out one way or the other . If I lose or win it’s like a pre season game it doesn’t count.
20 2/14/2018 6:03:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message By the way, this can count as our second practice game (both of us getting a chance to play both sides). The next one will be our official start.
19 2/14/2018 1:55:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message Union reinforcements are placed as follows:

EAST:
8 Washington, DC

CENTRAL:
2 Washington, OH
4 Cincinnati, OH

WEST:
4 Cairo, IL
18 2/14/2018 1:50:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message SPs are placed on the map (Union followed by Confederates)

Strategic Movement is conducted (Union followed by Confederates)

Available generals are placed on the map (Union followed by Confederates). Note the rules state "a leader may NOT be placed in a space that does not have a LOC or a friendly SP". Hence I believe that means I can place a leader in Sabine City, TX but I cannot place one in New Orleans, LA.
17 2/14/2018 10:21:00 AM Spring 1861 Union Message Map has been updated.

I can't remember if you are immediately prompted to draw new cards after clicking the "End Turn" button. Since this supposed to be done before you place your reinforcements, I am holding off from clicking on the "End Turn" button. Feel free to do so if you think it won't force us to draw cards yet, otherwise we can do it after we place all of our reinforcements.

So now the Union is on the clock to place their new reinforcements!
