377 5/4/2018 10:20:00 AM Summer 1863 Union Message Last card was foreign intervention - I had both it and the emancipation card in this last hand. I had so many campaign cards but over the last couple of turns, I really want to get some cards that gave me extra SP - the one you had (5 SP for raising Negro troops) this turn would have helped a bit!

375 5/4/2018 3:59:00 AM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Thanks for the game. Union had a good start. After 1862 I had to send everyone on east front and hoped for good cards and lucky die rolls...

Just curious, your last card was a Campaign?

Well played and congrats on the victory!! I feel like I got some valuable experience and hopefully learned a thing or two.

336 4/28/2018 11:25:00 AM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Until then you do fight well. I never had the opportunity to push through your defence definitively, only one raid each turn.

Without my concentration card this turn I would never had enough troops to hold on. Itís a compensation for your numerous campaign card and your interception previous turn ;-)
Without it I would have raid so more efficiently!

334 4/28/2018 11:02:00 AM Spring 1863 Union Message Very frustrating for me the last couple of turns. Even with Grant coming up in, it seems to me (at least as a novice player that needs some better skill:-) ) that the Union just doesn't have the leaders to do much with the superior Confederate armies. I thought I could wear you down this past turn but I ended up wearing myself down even more. Unable to drive you from the North was a big disappointment. Anyway, I'll continue to try!

Message from Union:
I knew I could not add the +2 to a land battle. I wish I could use it for an amphibious assault somewhere but the AOP is far too weak for that (and I would have had to move stuff to Baltimore or some other open port earlier to do that). At this point, I'm just trying to get lucky in Pittsburgh with a +2 DRM for the AOC. I did not realize the cavalry could intercept and not be the "main" unit fighting if successful - now I do:-) Anyway, here goes the roll

Morgan Intercept: needs a 1-3 I believe
315 4/25/2018 7:35:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message Ok, I read again your last move and I still have a doubt about your move (do you think Admiral Foote would give you a bonus drm+2 to the battle in Pittsburg?).

I'll let you resolve. If any battle in Pittsburg, Morgan will try to intercept from Wheeling. CSA will use max drm (+5 or +7).

312 4/25/2018 3:19:00 AM Spring 1863 Confederate Message There is 1 sp in Wheeling since #243, it didn't move then.
There is no sp in Grafton (last sp move in that space, see #190).

Actually:
Pittsburgh: AoNV (n7)
Wheeling: Morgan brigade + fort

About Admiral Foote event and his bonus drm+2, it only applies for amphibious assault. So if you keep your move, there will be a large battle in Pittsburgh ; USA drm+2, CSA drm+5 (without interception of Morgan brigade).
Please feel free to change your move if you want.

310 4/24/2018 10:33:00 PM Spring 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #57: 2 / Admiral Foote
Union may make a naval move with up to three SPs plus one general. If an amphibious assault occurs, you receive an additional +2 DRM. Add +2DRM to any Running the Guns die roll.

Message from Union:

If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5 Remove from deck if event is played.
