302 6/21/2018 9:45:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Let's try this scenario again switching sides. I'll try and get it set up this evening.
301 6/21/2018 7:46:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #6: 3 / Surrender!
Play in place of a roll on the Siege Table. At Louisbourg, you must already have Siege 1 or 2. Capture the fort or fortess intact. Enemy player places defenders at his closest unbesieged fortification.

NOTE: The deck will be reshuffled before next turn's cards are dealt.

Message from Britain:
Yes this was the card. I'm happy to swap to play another of these unless there is something else you want to play.
300 6/20/2018 10:26:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Let me clarify, a win for the French is only welcome when one is playing the French side. lol
299 6/20/2018 10:25:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Was surrender your last card? You didn't actually play it. I had two ambush cards in that last hand, one of which I held over from the early season and was tempted to play one when you went against Ticonderoga but realized that I had better odds when Montcalm came to Levis' relief. Unfortunately, you avoided battle and escaped back to Hudson Carry North. Not as impressive a win as last game but a win for the French is always welcome. Do you want to switch sides and try this again or do something else?
298 6/20/2018 8:35:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message With the successful raid at Karaghiyadiyra this is going to end as a +6 French Victory.

My initial strategy was to 'play both ends'. A western edge advance plus amphibious moves in the east would I hope stretch Montcalm. The eastern moves never developed as the cards didn't come up when I hoped for them and when they did I used them for other things.

Montcalm played a Frederick the Great Role. Wolfe needed to be up against him and not into what became a backwater.
297 6/20/2018 8:24:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message This was held back in case a siege actually took place. I’ll move Amherst’s force (Boston) – Hudson Carry South for a hope ‘next year’ to cause Montcalm some problems.
296 6/19/2018 3:19:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #12: 1 / Ambush!
Play before Battle in Wilderness or Mountain if you have Auxiliaries. May not be played if enemy has Fort, Light Infantry, or more Auxiliary units than you. Fire first, double strength (before any column shifts), unless enemy also ambushes.

NOTE: This card was held from the 1759 Early Season turn.

Message from France:
Last card. I debated pulling back from French creek but think I will just reinforce and hope for a more favorable battle result.
Use this to move some more Indians to Dumas:
Mingo Indian 1-6 will move: Logstown, Infiltrate Ohio Forks since no one is there now, Kittaning, Buffalo Swamp, La Belle River and into French creek joining Dumas
Ottawa Indian at Oswego will boat move to French Creek.
This makes 7 units and only 4 combat factors at French creek with Dumas.
295 6/19/2018 2:17:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Dumas survives and retreats to French Creek.
294 6/19/2018 2:17:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from France:
Wolfe wins at Venango with a 3 to 2 result thanks to a good die roll. Both Light Infantry units flip to their reduced side. The stockade is destroyed and victory points drop to +5 VPs for the French. I will flip both reduced Indians and one coureur and retreat to French creek. Possible leader loss roll for Dumas:

Message from France:
Wolfe [with Forbes, two 2-6s and a 3-4 Regiment].
move (Ohio Forks) – Kittaning then Venango to battle Dumas.
First roll is for the attacking British under the 6-8 column with +2 for Wolfe and -1 for the stockade for a net of +1.
2nd roll for Dumas with two Indians and two coureurs under the 4 to 5 column with +1 for Dumas. Wish I could use the ambush card here.
292 6/19/2018 2:06:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Delaware Indian successfully avoids battle to Laurel Ridge North. Actually, that was an automatic avoid and I didn't need to roll. Wolfe and company continue to Venango to battle Dumas.

Message from France:
The reduced Delaware Indian will try and avoid battle to Laurel Ridge North. Need 4-6.
290 6/19/2018 6:04:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #37: 3 / British Ministerial
British player must discard one British Regulars, Highlanders, Light Infantry, Troop Transports, or Victories in Germany card if he has any in his hand.

Message from Britain:
Activate Wolfe [with Forbes, two 2-6s and a 3-4 Regiment].

They move (Ohio Forks) – Kittaning and possibly on to Venango, depending on avoid battle or overrun at Kittaning.

Roll this out please, the final card will not be used to influence this in any way.
289 6/19/2018 5:49:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message The 'mountain highway' afforded by a stockade does aid mobility.

Two cards to go. Let's play this out. I have little I can do.
288 6/18/2018 9:33:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Correction, that was Green Mountain Central stockade with Drucour that the Abenaki and Potawatomi Indians traveled to. That's what I get from not looking closely at the map.
287 6/18/2018 9:31:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #11: 1 / Ambush!
Play before Battle in Wilderness or Mountain if you have Auxiliaries. May not be played if enemy has Fort, Light Infantry, or more Auxiliary units than you. Fire first, double strength (before any column shifts), unless enemy also ambushes.

Message from France:
Move some more Indians:
Abenaki Indian from their home at St. Francois to White Mountain Central stockade.
Potawatomi Indian from Cowass to White Mountain Central stockade.
286 6/18/2018 9:27:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message NE/NE result at Cowass and the 0-6 Tuscarora Indian retreats back to White River Falls.

Message from France:
A "4" roll means that the Oneida Indian suffers 2 loss factors on the raid and it and the allied settlement at Oneida are removed.
Tuscarora 0-6 moving to Green Mountains North. This roll is for the possible interception by Potawatomi Indian from Green Mountain Central at Cowass.
283 6/18/2018 9:19:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from France:
Oneida 1-6 at Oneida Castle. This one heads up to Kahnawake to raid. The 0-6 Marine in Montreal will not attempt interception. Raid roll under the Indian settlement column:
282 6/18/2018 5:20:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #13: 1 / Blockhouses
Play before enemy rolls on Raid Table. All enemy Raids this year use Stockade column (place marker)

Message from Britain:
Using this against your last actions would have made little difference. Two Indians move. No cards from me so please roll these out.

1. Oneida 1-6 at Oneida Castle. This one heads up to Kahnawake to raid. Your 0-6 Marine in Montreal can attempt interception.

2. Tuscarora 0-6 (White River Falls) – Green Mountains North. You might intercept at Cowass.
281 6/17/2018 9:34:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Finally, I get a good raid roll and the Abenaki Indian successfully raids the Seneca Indian settlement. Remove the allied marker there and put down a raid marker. Remove the Seneca Indian from Upper Monongahala. Abenaki Indian is still at full strength and goes home to St. Francois.
Lastly, the leader Villers will boat move to Crown Point after burning the stockade.

Message from France:
Ojibwa Indian fails in the raid attempt and takes 1 step loss and is inverted and goes back to Pays d'en Haut.
Next the Abenaki Indian at Black River moves to Karaghiyadirha to also try and raid the Seneca Indian settlement. He will not move such that the Oneida Indian could possibly intercept.
Raid roll:
279 6/17/2018 9:27:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from France:
Raid roll for the Ojibwa Indian in Karaghiyadirha to raid the Seneca Indian settlement.
278 6/17/2018 9:26:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #33: 2 / Indians Desert
Eliminate up to two unbesieged enemy Indian units from any one space. (Remove Allied markers)

Message from France:
Use this to move some Indians around and a leader.
1. Ojibwa Indian in Pays d'en Haut moves to Karaghiyadirha to raid the Seneca Indian settlement
2. Activate the Abenaki Indian at Black River to move which will depend on the Ojibwa Indian result
3. Activate Villiers at Oswegatchie to move. Also, destroy the stockade at Oswegatchie too.
277 6/16/2018 8:10:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Die roll request Request: 2-sided die x 1

Message from Britain:
1= remove Abercromby 2=Loudon.
276 6/16/2018 8:09:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #59: 3 / British Regulars
May not be played if British Regulars already played this season. REMOVE Place three 3-4 Regular units and a leader, if available, at any ports.

Message from Britain:
With the matched large forces facing each other north of Albany and with Montcalm having the modifier, there is little I can do there.

Amherst lands at Boston with the final three 3-4 regiments. His being on the map means someone else has to come off.
275 6/16/2018 8:00:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message 16th June 2018. We are more or less under the Levis holding box.
274 6/16/2018 12:20:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #9: 1 / Fieldworks
Play before Battle if you have Drilled Troops. If defending, place marker--attacker shifts 1 column left. If attacking, remove defender's marker. (Marker also removed anytime owner chooses or if attackers win.)

Message from France:
Use this to move the reduced marine detachment at St. Regis to Montreal.
273 6/15/2018 9:27:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #31: 3 / Cherokee Uprising
Play if Cherokees event has occurred. REMOVE British player must eliminate (as available, unbesieged) two Regular, one Southern Provincial, and all Cherokee (GREEN) Indian units (flip marker), and may not play Cherokees event.

Message from Britain:
Webb (Worcester) – Albany via Deerfield (drop off a 2-4), so he ends in Albany with the other 2-4.
272 6/14/2018 6:35:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #49: 1 / Call Out Militias
Place 1 Militia unit into a Militia Box or restore 2 to full strength.

Message from France:
I'll use this to move a couple of Indians:
1 Ottawa Indian from Pays d'en Haut to Oswego
1 Abenaki Indian from St, Francois to Crown Point
271 6/14/2018 1:42:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #56: 3 / French Regulars
May not be played if French Regulars already played this season or after Quiberon. REMOVE Place two 3-4 Regular units, and, if not yet in play, Montcalm, Levis, & Bougainville at either Quebec or Louisbourg.

Message from Britain:
Leaving Bradstreet behind with the 2-4 Provincial, Dunbar move to reinforce Abercromby (Hudson Carry South) – HCN [bringing the 4-4 and 2-4 Regulars plus a 1-4 Provincial].
270 6/13/2018 5:04:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Montcalm will stop at Ticonderoga. Siege level 0 marker goes away.
269 6/13/2018 3:29:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from Britain:
Full force Abercromby avoidance attempt. Needs 4-6.
268 6/13/2018 3:28:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message 4-4s: correct. I must have virtually 'picked up' two when doing the landing. I was looking forward to the difference the ghost unit might have made.

Avoid battle dilemma: in a campaign game I would but this one is going to have to end soon. However with the strengths being either side of a CRT line and the advantages Montcalm has it looks like a loss to Abercromby if he sticks around.

So, I'll try to avoid back to Hudson Carry North.
267 6/12/2018 10:39:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #10: 1 / Fieldworks
Play before Battle if you have Drilled Troops. If defending, place marker--attacker shifts 1 column left. If attacking, remove defender's marker. (Marker also removed anytime owner chooses or if attackers win.)

Message from France:
Use this to activate Montcalm and his force at Kahnawake. He will take all 8 units there and the other two leaders and boat move to Ticonderoga to battle Ambercromby. Levis will sally forth and join in the battle. A total of 22 factors with +2 vs British with 21 factors and +0. I may play a combat card but first I need to know if Ambercromby stays and fights or avoids battle and whether you play any cards for the defense.
266 6/12/2018 10:31:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message There was only one 4-4 regiment at Philadelphia. See log #186. Only one regiment came in with that card.
265 6/12/2018 5:44:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Rest of the Campaign:

2nd Bradstreet and his two 4-4 regiments boat move (Philadelphia) via Burlington to New York portage to Hudson Carry South, joining Dunbar’s force there.
264 6/12/2018 3:46:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Another low roll for me and the coureur dies without hurting the British. Siege level 0 placed on Ticonderoga and you have one more move by the campaign card.
263 6/12/2018 3:45:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from France:
This may be a game changer but since you could score a victory point with a win against Levis and his regulars, I have decided to let Levis retreat into the fort with the two regulars, one reduced regular and one coureur. I cannot avoid battle since I tried to intercept with Drucour. However, all the units will not fit and that leaves one coureur left to fight alone outside. This roll is for the lone coureur outside Ticonderoga under the 1 column with no adds. No need to roll for the British since there are no leaders involved for me and you are guaranteed to eliminate the coureur.
262 6/12/2018 12:06:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message I was really counting on the Potawatomi Indians helping in the fight. With the possibilities of a campaign move, I need to think about Levis' reaction.

Message from France:
Drucour and the Potawatomi Indian in the stockade at Green Mountain Central will try and intercept the British at Ticonderoga. Success on 3-6.
260 6/11/2018 6:43:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #3: 3 / Campaign
Activate any two leaders and their forces. Select them, then complete all actions by one before the other. No one may move more than once. Both may naval move.

Message from Britain:
First part.

1st the Abercromby army moves (Hudson Carry North) – Ticonderoga. He waits to see how Levis responds. I log Murray a 2-6 Ranger, one 4-4 Regiment and five 3-4s in this British army.
259 6/10/2018 2:15:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #29: 1 / Mohawks
Play if Johnson is within 2 spaces of Canajoharie. Place all Mohawk (RED) Indian units not on the map with Johnson and restore any reduced Mohawks to full

Message from France:
Montcalm activates and boat moves all 7 combat units and the two other leaders:
Mississauga and eliminates Johnson since he cannot retreat to Niagara
then back along the Northern edge of Lake Ontario and down the St. Lawrence to St. Regis where he drops off the reduced marine detachment and then to Kahanawake where he ends up. That makes 3 regulars, one reduced marine detachment one coureur and now 3 Indians, Rigaud and Bougainville.
258 6/10/2018 5:10:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #26: 2 / Western Indian
Play if you have fort at Ohio Forks. Place ORANGE or--if you have a fort at Niagara-- BLUE/ORANGE Indian units totalling half a die roll (rounded up), or a full roll if French VP >4. Place units at their settlements. For every 1 you could place, you may instead restore 2 to full.

Message from Britain:
Murray and his three 3-4 regiments (Albany) – Hudson Carry North to join Abercromby.
257 6/9/2018 3:07:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Johnson had a good run. It was probably more appropriate for a campaign game. Will move this evening... am off to the Museum of Childhood.
256 6/8/2018 10:05:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Montcalm wins against Johnson at Toronto with a 4 to 1 result. I will flip the marine detachment for my 1 loss factor. Johnson's force is eliminated and Johnson retreats to Mississauga. +1 Victory point for winning a battle against regulars and victory points go back to +6 in the French favor.
In hindsight, Montcalm should have gone after Johnson at Oneida Carry West last turn instead of trying to cut him off. I would have been ahead at least the 1 victory point for the stockade if he had avoided battle.
255 6/8/2018 10:01:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 2

Message from France:
Battle at Toronto:
1st roll attacking force under Montcalm with 3 regulars, 1 marine detachment, 1 coureur and 2 Indians for 13 factors under the 13-16 column with +2 for Montcalm.
2nd roll defending British force under Johnson with 1 highlander 4-4 and one reduced provincial 1-4 for 5 factors under the 4-5 column with +1 for Johnson and -1 for exclusively regulars/provincials vs auxiliaries in wilderness for a net of +0.
254 6/8/2018 9:58:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #20: 1 / Amphibious Landing
Play after naval move along Amphib arrow. May not be played same year after Louisbourg Squadrons. The unit or force may land in a French-occupied or -controlled space (place Amphib marker).

Message from France:
Use this to activate Montcalm at Cataraqui. He takes the entire force of 7 combat units and 2 other leaders and moves to Toronto to finish off Johnson and his force. I don't see any cards other than foul weather that will help Johnson and that has already been played so I'll go ahead and roll the combat.
253 6/8/2018 1:08:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #52: 1 / Call Out Militias
Place 1 Militia unit into a Militia Box or restore 2 to full strength.

Message from Britain:
Murray and his three 3-4 Regiments (New Haven) – Albany.
252 6/8/2018 7:07:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Will make a play later. Am pondering the opportunities offered by the new hand.
251 6/7/2018 7:38:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Event #1: 3 / Campaign
Activate any two leaders and their forces. Select them, then complete all actions by one before the other. No one may move more than once. Both may naval move.

Message from France:
Use this as an event to move two forces:
1. Riguad at Black River will move with Bougainville and three regulars, one marine detachment, one coureur and the two Algonquin Indians to Oswegatchie and then Cataraqui. This leaves the Abenaki Indian back at Black river only because these leaders could only move 7 units combined.
2nd move will be to move Montcalm from Quebec by boat down to Cataraqui.
Your go.
250 6/7/2018 9:48:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message I'll need to think about this first move.
249 6/7/2018 9:33:00 AM 1759 Early Season France End Turn
248 6/7/2018 9:32:00 AM 1759 Early Season France Message I will keep my last card for the next season.
247 6/7/2018 9:32:00 AM 1759 Early Season France Message I only see 3 Indians that I can bring on with this roll for the Northern Indian event.
One Ottawa and one Ojibwa Indians appear at Pays d'en Haut
One Caughnawaga Indian appears at Kahnawake.

Message from France:
Northern Indian recruitment roll. Full roll since vps > 4.
245 6/7/2018 9:25:00 AM 1759 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Event #24: 2 / Northern Indian
Play if you control Montreal. Place BLUE or--if you have a fort at Niagara-- BLUE/ORANGE Indian units totalling half a die roll (rounded up), or a full roll if French VP >4. Place units at their settlements. For every 1 you could place, you may instead restore 2 to full.

Message from France:
I'll take this opportunity to raise some more Indians for the cause.
244 6/7/2018 4:13:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Message My problem, with the scenario clock counting down, is that I can make some frustrating plays for the French, but in the end they are still holding a good VP advantage.
243 6/7/2018 4:10:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #22: 3 / Governor Vaudreuil
Choose any 2 unbesieged French leaders on the map and reverse their locations. (You may not choose Louisbourg if "Louisbourg Squadrons" removal has disallowed French naval movement.)

Message from Britain:

Montcalm to Quebec. Bougainville to Black River.

You now have 2 cards to play out the season.
242 6/7/2018 4:02:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Message I'm currently finding that ACTS emails are coming through in an odd order.
241 6/6/2018 3:43:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #21: 3 / Louisbourg Squad.
Play if you control Louisbourg. REMOVE? No Amphibious Landings this year. On a roll of 1-3, REMOVE, no French naval moves ever, and British may play Quiberon. (Place markers.)

NOTE: This card was held from the Start turn.

Message from France:
Instead of moving Montcalm and splitting his force I will go with the original plan. Use this to activate the reduced marine detachment at Mississauga. I will destroy the stockade there to prevent its falling to Johnson and boat move the marine by way of the Southern part of Lake Ontario to Kahnawake. The stockade at Oswegatchie will not be destroyed.
240 6/6/2018 3:37:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Return Strategy card to hand #21: 3 / Louisbourg Squad.

Message from France:
I think I will revise this again and go with the original plan as Johnson is out of supply.
239 6/6/2018 3:21:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #21: 3 / Louisbourg Squad.
Play if you control Louisbourg. REMOVE? No Amphibious Landings this year. On a roll of 1-3, REMOVE, no French naval moves ever, and British may play Quiberon. (Place markers.)

NOTE: This card was held from the Start turn.

Message from France:
I'll change that last move. The reduced marine detachment at Mississauga will not move but I will destroy the stockade at Mississauga and also destroy the stockade at Oswegatchie to prevent Johnson's burning party. Instead of moving the reduced marine detachment use this to activate Montcalm at Black River. He moves all to:
Niaoure Bay where he drops off Rigaud with three regulars 3-4's and one marine detachment 1-4 and the Algonquin Indian 1-6 for 11 factors. He then continues with the remaining 3 units (coureur and Indians who have 6 movement factors) to Niagara joining Vaudreuil making 7 combat units and 7 factors there.
238 6/6/2018 3:10:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Return Strategy card to hand #21: 3 / Louisbourg Squad.

Message from France:
I think I will do something different instead.
237 6/6/2018 2:50:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #21: 3 / Louisbourg Squad.
Play if you control Louisbourg. REMOVE? No Amphibious Landings this year. On a roll of 1-3, REMOVE, no French naval moves ever, and British may play Quiberon. (Place markers.)

Message from France:
Use this to activate the reduced marine detachment at Mississauga. I will destroy the stockade there to prevent its falling to Johnson and boat move the marine by way of the Southern part of Lake Ontario to Kahnawake.
236 6/6/2018 2:47:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message Well, what a revolting set of circumstances. Johnson continues to make gains by defeating the coureur at Toronto by winning 2 to NE. The coureur is eliminated and the stockade is destroyed. You do not get to capture the stockade as I read the rules.
See 5.45. Victory points go down 1 from +6 to +5 in the French favor.

Message from France:
Battle at Toronto: The reduced coureur will stay and fight.
1st roll attacking Johnson's force of 5 factors with +1 for Johnson, -1 for regulars/provincials vs auxiliaries in the wilderness and -1 for the stockade for a net of -1.
2nd roll defending auxiliary 0-6 under the 0 column with no adds.
234 6/6/2018 3:47:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Message In any battle arising from this the final British card will not be played to influence combat.
233 6/6/2018 3:45:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #32: 2 / Treaty of Easton
Play if British Drilled Troops are in an unbesieged fortification in or adjacent to Ohio Forks. REMOVE Eliminate all unbesieged Shawnee, Mingo, and Delaware (ORANGE only) units

Message from Britain:
Johnson’s expedition continues as he destroys the stockade in Cataraqui and boat moves (Cataraqui) – Toronto.

The 0-6 Coureur there might respond in some way of course.
232 6/6/2018 3:38:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #14: 2 / Foul Weather
Play when enemy is about to move. For that one activated force, unit, or leader, land or boat move limited to 2 spaces and no naval move allowed

Message from Britain:
Play as a response after post 229, so Montcalm is bogged down in mud at Black River.

Correct about the village at Kahnawake. Have put marker back on my map. Also the Provincial reduction when Villiers intercepted.
231 6/5/2018 10:10:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message Montcalm wins against Johnson at Cataraqui with a 4 to 1 result. Johnson's force is eliminated and Johnson retreats alone to Ganneious. I will flip the marine detachment for my 1 loss factor. Victory points go up 1 for the win against regulars and go back to +7 VPs in the French favor. (unless you play the foul weather combat card).

Message from France:
Unless you want to play the Foul Weather card to limit Montcalm's move we will have a battle at Cataraqui.
1st roll for Montcalm's attacking force of 8 units and 14 factors under the 13-16 column with +2 for Montcalm.
2nd roll for Johnson's defending force of 2 units with 5 factors under the 4-5 column with +1 for Johnson and -1 for regulars/provincials vs auxiliaries in wilderness.
229 6/5/2018 5:58:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message Correction on that move. Montcalm will travel overland instead of going close to the Oneida Indians. He will move his force from Oneida Carry East:
West Canada Creek
Black River
Niaoure Bay
Cataraqui and battle Johnson.
228 6/5/2018 5:54:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #62: 3 / Quiberon Bay
Play if Louisbourg Squadrons REMOVED, if you control Louisbourg, or after 1759. REMOVE French may not play Diplomatic Revolution, Victories in Germany, Troop Transports, or Regulars. Starting next season, French get 7 cards and British go first.

Message from France:
Johnson must stop at Cataraqui since this was not an overrun and there was a battle at a fortification.
I'll use this to activate Montcalm at Oneida Carry East. He will move the entire force and Riguad through Oneida Carry West, Oswego, Niaoure Bay and into Cataraqui and battle Johnson. Johnson cannot intercept or avoid battle into the wilderness as he has no auxiliaries. Montcalm with 14 factors and +2 vs Johnson with 5 factors and a net of +0. I will not play a combat card here as this should be an automatic victory and destruction of Johnson's force.
227 6/5/2018 5:47:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message Kahnawake village marker is not removed as there is another Caughnawaga Indian at Niagara fort.
226 6/5/2018 5:45:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message Johnson wins at Cataraqui with a 2 to 1 result. The French coureur is eliminated for the 2 step loss and Villiers retreats back to Oswegatchie. British have 1 step loss which will probably flip the provincial making Johnson with 5 factors now. British get 1 victory point for destroying the stockade and victory points drop 1 to +6 VPs in the French favor. Good move on your part.

Villiers and the coureur successfully intercept Johnson and his force at Cataraqui and we have a battle there at the stockade.
1st roll attacking Johnson with a 4-4 regular and a 2-4 provincial under the 6 - 8 column with +1 for Johnson and -1 for stockade and -1 for regulars/provincials vs auxiliaries in the wilderness for a net of -1.
2nd roll defending French coureur with +1 for Villiers under the 1 column.

Message from France:
Villiers and the coureur at Oswegatachie will try and intercept Johnson at Cataraqui. Need 3-6 for success.
223 6/5/2018 3:14:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message I am assuming Johnson can do this in a boat move.
222 6/5/2018 2:52:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message Also destroy British stockade in Schenectady.
221 6/5/2018 2:48:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message Kahnawake village marker removed I believe.
220 6/5/2018 2:47:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message Johnson is going to go deeper into the unknown. As that was an overrun he is going to move up to Cataraqui, where Villiers might attempt an interception.

British attack on 6 column with Leader +1 cancelled by Wilderness -1.

Braves roll on 0 column.
218 6/5/2018 2:10:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message The reduced Indian at Oswego will stand and fight to the last brave.
217 6/5/2018 1:52:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #43: 2 / Raise Regiments
May not be played if Assemblies Reluctant. Within Assemblies track limits, place 4 Northern or 2 Southern Provincial units at any fortifications in their Department, or restore all Provincials of one Department to full.

Message from Britain:
Activate Johnson and his isolated force.

They burn the stockade and move (Oneida Carry West) – Oswego where a 0-6 Indian needs to decide how to react. Johnson has a 4-4 Reg and 2-4 Northern Provincial with him.
216 6/5/2018 1:40:00 PM 1759 Early Season Britain Message >This puts Johnson's force in a precarious position...

Absolutely. I have been finding it hard to move the British forward anything more than space by space. If I try to go a little further ahead, I feel really out on a limb.

I was going to try to do things from Louisbourg in this game, but the cards were used in the west.
215 6/4/2018 9:07:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message Montcalm wins at Oneida Carry East with a 3 to NE result. This eliminates the reduced provincial and the stockade. +1 victory point for the stockade and the French go up to +7 VPs in their favor. No leader loss checks since the enemy result was NE. This puts Johnson's force in a precarious position especially since he has no auxiliary units with him.

2nd roll defending reduced provincial under the 1 column with -1 for drilled troops vs auxiliaries in wilderness.

The 1-4 Provincial attempts to avoid to Oneida Carry West, needing a 4-6.
212 6/4/2018 11:44:00 AM 1759 Early Season France Message Just a clarification. Montcalm did not drop off a coureur with Villiers. I was merely stating that there already was a coureur there. Montcalm would have 8 combat units and 14 factors at Oneida Carry East.
211 6/4/2018 8:14:00 AM 1759 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #8: 1 / Coehorns & How.
Play if you have Regulars attacking or defending in a siege and/or assault. Receive +2 on a siege roll if attacking or -2 if defending, as well as +2 on the CRT in an assault.

Message from France:
Use this to activate Montcalm at Cataraqui. He takes all 8 combat units there and the two leaders, Villiers and Rigaud and moves to Oswegatchie where he drops off Villiers with the coureur there. Then on to Oneida Carry East by way of West Canada Creek. I will wait until I see if you try and intercept with Johnson or the Indian or try to avoid battle before resolving. Depending on your response, I may have a combat card to play.

209 6/3/2018 11:22:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #58: 3 / British Regulars
May not be played if British Regulars already played this season. REMOVE Place three 3-4 Regular units and a leader, if available, at any ports.

Message from Britain:
Three 3-4s land at New Haven.

On a 1 the leader is Murray, on a 2 it is Amherst and Loudon would be removed.
208 6/3/2018 11:13:00 AM 1759 Early Season Britain Message I thought those raids were worth risking as I had a 1 Ops card available.

In real life we had front door issues. The locksmith came out today (Sunday) with replacement parts.

British frontier trader provides scouts.
Play after activating a Drilled Troops unit or a force that includes Drilled
Troops.
The unit or force does not have to stop after passing through Wilderness
spaces.

Message from France:
Use this to activate Montcalm at Crown Point. He will take all 4 combat units - three Regulars and the 1-6 Indian and Rigaud leader and boat move to Cataraqui joining Villiers which makes 14 factors and 8 units there.
206 6/1/2018 5:10:00 PM 1759 Early Season France Message The Potawatomi Indian under Drucour successfully defends Green Mountain Central stockade with a NE / 1 result. The Tuscarora Indian flips and retreats back to White River Falls.
