95 4/24/2018 8:30:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message Whelp, that's an interesting subject. I meant to send McClellan to AoP in message #38, but apparently I never noted that.

Therefore, McClellan would have had to ride along with Pope as I couldn't have left him by himself. So it's your call.

Would you rather have

A) McClellan w/ AoP

or

B) McClellan w/ 5 SPs, Rosecrans, & Burnside

71 4/18/2018 12:22:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message I'll agree with that assessment. I forgot how easily you could get to those spaces from Cairo with the river (I'm still not used to looking at riverine movement).
70 4/16/2018 8:42:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message Just my two cents, but I think you were a little too cute on your move in KY. Remember, you have the last move.

On the other hand, you did force me to respond to avoid losing KY. My alternate plan was to take the AOP w/ 2 SPs from D.C. to hit your stack in Manassas.

I think you should have also considered pulling from Clarksville, TN and Baldwin, FL. You could've left one in Nashville and hit Bowling Green w/ 6, giving you the 3:1 and allowing you to continue movement afterwards.

I'm okay if you want to retroactively make that your move. It's learning after all.

As the Rebels, you want to go for a 3:2 loss factor at minimum.

Confederate player can either remove or demote an army commander in any state except Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida for no political cost. OR Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5 Remove from deck if event is played.

12 4/9/2018 10:20:00 AM Spring 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #82: 3 / Foreign Intervention - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player can play this card as an EC when Confederate SW is 110+. If this is the last card in a players hand or the second to last and the player holds the Emancipation Proclamation, if the condition is met, it must be played as an EC, if not it can be played as an OC. EFFECTS: 1. Union Blockade reduced by one (cannot become greater than 4 for the remainder of the game). 2. Union -2 SP Reinforcements for the remainder of the game (Union choice). 3. Union SW reduced by 10. Remove from deck if event is played. If card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at end of the Strategy Phase.

10 4/8/2018 3:21:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message the port in Texas is important in that, once it's captured, I can SR troops down there, while you have to move them by OPs cards. Texas is also easily captured, costing you 1 SP and forcing you to move your limited SPs to prevent a breakout.
9 4/8/2018 3:19:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #51: 1 / Confederate Torpedoes

4 4/8/2018 12:18:00 AM Spring 1861 Confederate Message Advice #2 and #3 make sense to me, but I'm struggling to see the strategic importance of the Texas port city. (I don't doubt that you're right, but just am not understanding why this one is particularly important).
3 4/7/2018 8:03:00 PM Spring 1861 Union Message Couple of things to keep in mind as the Confederate player.

1) Garrison TX's port. Preferably with 2 SPs and a fort.
2) You want to try and get 2 SPs and a 0-1 General in each of the Forts in KY/TN. Losing control can be rough for the CSA.
3) I'd recommend Forts in Nashville & Memphis in the next few turns.

Again, so much depends on the cards. That shared deck can make things interesting.
