104 4/17/2018 7:45:00 PM Fall 1941 Axis Message Here are some quick thoughts:

* You absolutely can not lose Stalin. Yes, I might not have drawn Taifun but it's still not the risk. I have never experienced losing as the AX if I kill Stalin hor have I ever heard of other AX players losing after having done so.
* Sometimes it's best to leave that guy in Tarnow on turn one, just to prevent that attack on Odessa.
* Don't give up the Blau spots. Losing it won't necessarily be a game loser in 1941 but forcing the Axis to draw, and play, Fall Blau, is often important.
* I assumed you had Partisans in your hand - that card alone will often ensure you will get to 1942.
* Your tactical play is fine - dice roll is probably an area you'll need to work on.
* You seem very keen on holding Moscow - I personally have no problem giving it up assuming IE was played.
* I personally do not like losing the SUa's; they are very valuable as blockers, especially since it's likely you'll be doing SRs in the beginning to get Stalin out.

I'll get another game started at week's end. Do you have any preference for side?

I took a gamble on the cards, but you drew the one card which made the difference and Moscow fell. In retrospect, if I'd SR'd Stalin to safety, the game would still be alive.

The dice were very unkind for almost every crucial roll, but sometimes that just happens. I really wanted a 5 OPS card on turn 1, but only got a 4 card. With one more OPS the Odessa door would have not have been left open; the RUa would have moved.

Your observations would be welcome and if you would like another, please set up.

I have never experienced losing as the AX if I kill Stalin hor have I ever heard of other AX players losing after having done so. * Sometimes it's best to leave that guy in Tarnow on turn one, just to prevent that attack on Odessa. * Don't give up the Blau spots. Losing it won't necessarily be a game loser in 1941 but forcing the Axis to draw, and play, Fall Blau, is often important. * I assumed you had Partisans in your hand - that card alone will often ensure you will get to 1942. * Your tactical play is fine - dice roll is probably an area you'll need to work on. * You seem very keen on holding Moscow - I personally have no problem giving it up assuming IE was played. * I personally do not like losing the SUa's; they are very valuable as blockers, especially since it's likely you'll be doing SRs in the beginning to get Stalin out. I'll get another game started at week's end. Do you have any preference for side?

I took a gamble on the cards, but you drew the one card which made the difference and Moscow fell. In retrospect, if I'd SR'd Stalin to safety, the game would still be alive. The dice were very unkind for almost every crucial roll, but sometimes that just happens. I really wanted a 5 OPS card on turn 1, but only got a 4 card. With one more OPS the Odessa door would have not have been left open; the RUa would have moved. Your observations would be welcome and if you would like another, please set up.
