299 7/23/2018 11:13:00 AM 1759 Late Season France End Turn
298 7/19/2018 1:25:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Great game and I love it when it comes down to the last couple of moves. That desperate final season was a lot of fun.

I'm happy to be the Germans, yeah. I'll try to remember the opening sequence of moves. Probs reread the rules some time over the next couple of days and then I'll zap you a message.

I hope to have my revenge!
297 7/19/2018 12:21:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Phew! Just about managed not to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. I felt like I had 5 seasons of careful approach play and then totally messed up the last one.
Good game. Love Wilderness War.

Let me know when you're ready to go on What Price Glory. Do you want to be the Germans, since you've played it before?
296 7/19/2018 7:57:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Actually, it doesn't matter does it.

Congrats again!

Message from France:
No modifiers.
294 7/19/2018 7:55:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #37: 3 / British Ministerial
British player must discard one British Regulars, Highlanders, Light Infantry, Troop Transports, or Victories in Germany card if he has any in his hand.

Message from France:
I might as well try to finish my own siege of Hudson Carry.
293 7/19/2018 7:54:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message I take 3 hits, you take 2.

I think that's the game. I have 1 card left and I could activate some nearby Indians to attack Wolfe but with his modifier it would not be possible for me to win. No one else is close enough!

Sacre bleu!

Congrats!
292 7/19/2018 7:48:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from France:
I can't win this. +1 for the leader on the 2 column.
291 7/19/2018 7:48:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Good roll. Those modifiers were wrong. It's +2 for the leader and 1 column left. That makes it 3 hits.
290 7/19/2018 7:47:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from France:
No cards for me. This roll is for Wolfe on the 7 column. +2 for the leader, -1 for having no auxiliaries.

Big roll here!
289 7/19/2018 6:50:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #39: 2 / Stingy Provincial
May not be played if British Assemblies Enthusiastic. Choose either the Northern or Southern Department and the British player must eliminate 1 of its Provincial units.

Message from Britain:
I'll use Wolfe to assault. To you to confirm in case you have another Coehorns.

I have to go out now so you can roll it!
288 7/19/2018 6:44:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message No effect. Back to you.
287 7/19/2018 6:43:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from France:
No modifiers.
286 7/19/2018 6:43:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #31: 3 / Cherokee Uprising
Play if Cherokees event has occurred. REMOVE British player must eliminate (as available, unbesieged) two Regular, one Southern Provincial, and all Cherokee (GREEN) Indian units (flip marker), and may not play Cherokees event.

Message from France:
I'll activate Rigaud and start my own siege at Hudson Carry.
285 7/19/2018 6:42:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message I haven't got much else nearby to help out with that siege / assault. If you roll badly enough I can still win.
284 7/19/2018 6:26:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Yeah I don't see anything that would prevent you from assaulting if the supply line is broken.

283 7/19/2018 6:18:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Oh and I didn't do a log, so please add the VP yourself (and do the siege marker).
282 7/19/2018 6:16:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Tasty. Siege is prosecuted but no way I'm assaulting into the guns.

Here's a question: if the supply line is broken, can I still assault? The out of supply text says I can't roll on the Siege table, but an assault doesn't do that... I reckon I could (but then again I would say that).

Back to you for your turn.
281 7/19/2018 6:15:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

6

Message from Britain:
*sigh*

Right, so this is on the Siege table. +1 cumulative leader mod, -2 Coehorns for -1 total; need a 4+ to advance the siege.
280 7/19/2018 6:13:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Ah, I didn't do the VP for the battle in my last log so make sure you add it in yours.
279 7/19/2018 6:12:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Event #8: 1 / Coehorns & How.
Play if you have Regulars attacking or defending in a siege and/or assault. Receive +2 on a siege roll if attacking or -2 if defending, as well as +2 on the CRT in an assault.

Message from France:
Besiege this!
278 7/19/2018 6:09:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #30: 1 / Cherokees
May not be played after Cherokee Uprising. Place all Cherokee (GREEN) Indian units not on the map at a British fortification in the Southern Department and restore any reduced Cherokee to full strength. French may play Cherokee Uprising (place marker).

Message from Britain:
Got to take advantage of the supply line while I can. Wolfe to besiege Niagara. I'll let you confirm before I roll it, since a Coehorns now could be game-changing.
Did a log for my losses.
277 7/19/2018 6:08:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message What Price Glory sounds good. I reckon I can more or less remember the rules so shouldn't be too painful to re-learn. I remember it being a good game too, for a light magazine game.
276 7/19/2018 6:07:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Back to you for losses and then your turn.
I thought I had you then!

272 7/19/2018 6:04:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message That is 3 hits!
271 7/19/2018 6:03:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

5

Message from France:
This roll is for Montcalm. +2.

I'm nervous!
270 7/19/2018 5:42:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message If there's one thing I'd change about this game I would consider implementing the Unhappy King Charles rule where interceptions and evades use the difference in tactical ratings between the generals involved as a modifier to the dice, rather than just the general making the roll.
It would screw with the balance, though (and Montcalm would be even more of a superman).
269 7/19/2018 5:36:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message I reckon you've got about a 1/6 chance of winning this battle. If you make it I think that's game over.
268 7/19/2018 5:31:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Successful intercept. You can roll the combat.

This is definitely getting desperate on both sides!

OK, no problem on KoH. If you want something with a bit lower rules overhead how about What Price Glory? I see you've rated that one well, and it's another I've got recently and not tried yet.
267 7/19/2018 5:25:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

4

Message from Britain:
I'll attempt an intercept with Forbes and both units. Need a 4-6.
266 7/19/2018 5:24:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message I've been a little interested in Kingdom of Heaven in the past. Looking at the length of the rulebook, it might take me a while to get it together as I've got a couple of other fairly meaty rulebooks on the go already. I wouldn't mind putting it on the to-play pile but I doubt I'd be able to start very soon..
265 7/19/2018 5:21:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #19: 1 / Amphibious Landing
Play after naval move along Amphib arrow. May not be played same year after Louisbourg Squadrons. The unit or force may land in a French-occupied or -controlled space (place Amphib marker).

Message from France:
I'll have to go for a desperate raid on your supply line with Montcalm. You can have a go at intercepting.
264 7/17/2018 10:48:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message No problem, whenever you get to it.

Any interest in Kingdom of Heaven, to stay in the CDG area? Got that recently and not had a chance to try it yet.
263 7/17/2018 10:43:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message That supply line looks locked up..

I'm going to have to come back to this the day after tomorrow, I'm afraid.

Also, I don't mind waiting a few months for a game of UKC. Is there anything on your to-play pile?
262 7/17/2018 10:15:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message OK, I did a log to do that and to fix a little mistake from earlier in my move.
The supply line is re-established. Going to be tight. Back to you!
261 7/17/2018 10:12:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Endless sixes...

He's out the way now so you can carry on.

Message from France:
Not your lucky day.

I'll evade into Gannagaro.
259 7/17/2018 10:00:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Followed up; same decision.

I just attacked into a 1,6 roll in a GCACW game... dice are not with me this afternoon.
258 7/17/2018 9:55:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Success. No log.
257 7/17/2018 9:55:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Try to evade to Irondequoit.
256 7/17/2018 9:51:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #7: 1 / Massacre!
Play when enemy stack of both Indian and Drilled Troops units captures a stockade space, fort, or fortress. Receive 1 VP. All Indians in the space eliminated.

Message from Britain:
This game has really gone off the rails under the time pressure of this last season!

Forbes to Oswego - you can evade or fight.
255 7/17/2018 9:50:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message I've applied losses and VPs. Back to you!
254 7/17/2018 9:47:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Levis dies!

248 7/17/2018 9:42:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #9: 1 / Fieldworks
Play before Battle if you have Drilled Troops. If defending, place marker--attacker shifts 1 column left. If attacking, remove defender's marker. (Marker also removed anytime owner chooses or if attackers win.)

Message from Britain:
I'll not take it, but I do want to play this.

You can roll it.
247 7/17/2018 9:39:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #27: 2 / Western Indian
Play if you have fort at Ohio Forks. Place ORANGE or--if you have a fort at Niagara-- BLUE/ORANGE Indian units totalling half a die roll (rounded up), or a full roll if French VP >4. Place units at their settlements. For every 1 you could place, you may instead restore 2 to full.

Message from France:
Activate Levis. You have an evade option.
246 7/17/2018 9:19:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #17: 1 / Amphibious Landing
Play after naval move along Amphib arrow. May not be played same year after Louisbourg Squadrons. The unit or force may land in a French-occupied or -controlled space (place Amphib marker).

Message from Britain:
Forbes to boat move. No contact.
245 7/17/2018 9:14:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message I didn't give you your battle vp either. Sorry, half arsed that log!
244 7/17/2018 9:12:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Oh I forgot to put the siege marker on the fort.
243 7/17/2018 9:11:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Also move the Abenaki and Mississauga Indians. No raids there either. Back to you!
242 7/17/2018 9:09:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message That was a success. Next I'll move a couple of Indians from the Pays d'en Haut. No raids for these two.

Message from France:
First, raid your stockade in Oswego with Montcalm and pals. +2 for the leader.
240 7/17/2018 9:05:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #58: 3 / British Regulars
May not be played if British Regulars already played this season. REMOVE Place three 3-4 Regular units and a leader, if available, at any ports.

Message from France:
I will activate my irregulars.
239 7/16/2018 4:38:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message 2 step losses so I just about win that combat. You can put my loss on either unit, do yours and give me a VP; then your turn.

Start thinking about what you might want to play next? I'm a bit Unhappy King Charles-ed out with 2 on the go, although if you've read the rules and are keen I could do another one.
238 7/16/2018 4:36:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from Britain:
Wolfe is OK, and I get 8 col +1 (+2 for Wolfe, no irregulars for -1), which is this roll.

Message from Britain:
I'll roll them separately, you know, just to prolong the agony.
First is you, 3 col +1.

235 7/16/2018 1:03:00 PM 1759 Late Season France Message Oh yeah, sorry, should have realised.

I'll fight I suppose. If you roll badly it could be another moment to cherish.
234 7/15/2018 7:08:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message It's a boat move so I think he's OK. Sorry, should have said that.
233 7/15/2018 6:09:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Yeah I think you probably had time to build the stockades before the fight. I was luck to have the ambush card though. It could have gone either way!

Can Wolfe make that move? He has no irregulars so has to stop on the second wilderness space, I think..

232 7/14/2018 1:18:00 PM 1759 Late Season Britain Message I've been kicking myself about that move. I looked at it for ages and couldn't decide what to do, then just decided to roll the dice. But should have taken the extra move to build the stockade!
Did another reckless move, because I think I have to now.
231 7/13/2018 11:24:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Ha ha amazing! Back to you.
230 7/13/2018 10:26:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message Noooooooo! 4 losses. What a fool. What a disaster. Maybe I can still pull this off but it's going to be tough.
Back to you for losses then the second half of my campaign.
229 7/13/2018 10:25:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from Britain:
Losses take me to 18, so 17-21 column at +1.

50% chance of pulling it off, 50% chance of disaster. No pressure.
228 7/13/2018 10:23:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message 4 step losses and this looks bad...
227 7/13/2018 10:23:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

Message from Britain:
OK, this is you. 13-6 column, +1.
Roll low.
226 7/13/2018 10:22:00 AM 1759 Late Season Britain Message I don't, but I was 60% sure you did. I thought I had to push for the attack anyway, though (maybe a moment of madness).
This could get nasty. Let's find out.
225 7/13/2018 9:49:00 AM 1759 Late Season France Message Do you have an ambush card?
