215 7/4/2018 11:08:00 PM Fall 1862 Confederate Message Not sure if this is salvageable but I will give it a try. I set up the scenario that we played today and the rebels did much better. They got better activation rolls and Ronald's regiment was able to get into place which helped a bunch. In fact Crawford's Union regiment took a bit of a beating and will likely get need to pull back if they are get an activation before the confederates do on the left flank. Branch was also able to activate and fill the center of the line where he failed to do so in our game.

Confederate player can either remove or demote an army commander in any state except Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida for no political cost. OR Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5 Remove from deck if event is played.

186 6/14/2018 11:21:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message I'll sleep on it.
185 6/14/2018 11:12:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message The key difference here is that as the union you will never lose a good general since an army commander can't be killed and Grant will always be protected as will Sherman once he get his own army. Beyond that it does not matter. At turn 10 and on the outcome is decided 90+% so if the so it is not big deal. The rest of the general staff for the Union is irrelevant as they are total crap. You can lose any of them and it does not matter a lick.

Losing Jackson or Longsteet is essentially like losing 4 CV's like the Japanese did at Midway. No coming back.

Engineers hate chaos by nature. LOL
184 6/14/2018 11:01:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message Dave, you have to learn to embrace the chaos of Markís games. Between the cards and the dramatic variance in the CRT a player has only limited control over strategy and outcomes. This game, in particular, has a definite Buddhist vibe to it. Just let it wash over you, like the ocean, riding up and down on the swells.
I fucking HATE it when I lose a good General!
183 6/14/2018 10:55:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Gotta love getting hosed by 1 in 8 shots. That was the odds that longstreet would die after the battle.
182 6/14/2018 10:54:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message I am pretty close to resigning here. Even when I win I lose in this game. When a game hates your guts it just hates your guts. Why fight it. The confederates can't really afford to lose Longstreet or Jackson this early. I now can't go into the north even if I wanted to. Let me sleep on it.

133 5/29/2018 7:32:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Hey Dave,
There are some very good articles on FTP in C3i. I think they are free on the site. I've been playing along with some of the games on ACTS, and that is a great way to learn how to sequence cards and learn strategy. Your doing fine in this game, you can push me back in the East, and threaten the Midwest now that you have KY. Should not be too hard to crush my Georgia invasion.
Found out I may not get to play in the next round, all the 3-1 players have to survive a lottery to play the 4-0 players. Oh well..

So, no interception for me at this time. Did you want to stop there or keep moving?

131 5/26/2018 5:41:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #82: 3 / Foreign Intervention - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player can play this card as an EC when Confederate SW is 110+. If this is the last card in a players hand or the second to last and the player holds the Emancipation Proclamation, if the condition is met, it must be played as an EC, if not it can be played as an OC. EFFECTS: 1. Union Blockade reduced by one (cannot become greater than 4 for the remainder of the game). 2. Union -2 SP Reinforcements for the remainder of the game (Union choice). 3. Union SW reduced by 10. Remove from deck if event is played. If card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at end of the Strategy Phase.

The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during the intercept.
