Entry # Time Turn Player Title Entry
20 5/27/2018 7:03:00 PM June 1941 Allied Message Hi Rune,
Not sure what happened with our game. In the interest of fun and me learning something, I will present you with a B2B puzzle and see how you would approach the problem.

Imagine you are the Allied player and your first turn hand looks like this:
Both Russain Reinforcement cards #2 & #24
British Reinforcement card #5 (the Desert Army)
Bomber Command - a 3 OPS card
and 3x cards that are 2 OPS

Question: would you play #5 as a 4 OPS card?
It will not be drawn again until Spring 1942 (5of21 chance).

Or would you play the 3 OPS card and hold all three of the key Reinforcement cards?
Card draws would be; 4 Summer, 5 Fall (Desert Army & #2 still held), 7 in Winter leaving 2 cards not drawn until Spring (could be Ind Evac or Sorge).

I have encountered this challenge many times and I would love to know how you would play this set of first turn cards.

19 5/25/2018 7:22:00 PM June 1941 Allied Message Curiosity: Have you ever looked at Racine's "High Tide Tournament Scenario"?
Mostly, I am looking at the cards that are presumed to be played:
Turn Record Track markers:
Turn 1: Barbarossa
Turn 2: OKH Conference, Industrial Evacuation, Sorge
Turn 3: Taifun, Hitler Declares War
Turn 4: Hitler Takes Command, Partisans
Turn 5: Speer, Lend-Lease, U.S. Build Up
Tun 6: Game Turn, Fall Blau, Allied Invasions, Industrial Evac. Tank Armies
I have never played a game where my opponent played Hitler declares war except one time on Turn 6, not on turn 3. And OKH on turn 2, also seems a stretch.
What is your experience?
18 5/25/2018 7:16:00 PM June 1941 Allied Message Hi Rune,
In the interest of a fun game, I am going to offer and request a card draw mulligan for both of us.
I have a very unusual situation that feels like a setup for failure from the outset. And it is possible that it will all work out fine...
Other than that, I am all set to go.
I was actually waiting for you to submit your first turn, I am presuming you will use Barbarossa.
17 5/25/2018 8:28:00 AM June 1941 Axis Message Just saw your email now :-)

Was waiting for reply through ACTS.

Sounds good. So we are all set to go?

16 5/25/2018 2:36:00 AM June 1941 Axis Message I assume you can use Cyberboard, and I use vassal. Not at all familiar with cyberboard.

We do everything on Acts: Dice, cards.

Then I move, through your messages, my board and you move your board, based on my messages.

That's how I have experience from playing. Works like a charm, no sending back and forth and rather easy to go back and forth from.

But it does require a certain trust and communication. If we disagree where GEX is or if it is flipped and so on, we write. I trust people play this game for the fun of it. And as such play to the rules.

Anyway who want to go online and cheat another person in a complicated game, for what purpose.. :-)

Agree/Disagree?
15 5/25/2018 2:30:00 AM June 1941 Axis Message I am using vassal.

Just writing here, and move the pieces in each of our vassal module. Hate the sending back and forth, just to much of an issue :-)
14 5/24/2018 8:14:00 PM June 1941 Allied Message That didn't clear it up. All of my points are preferences. I am flexible on using either Vassel or Cyberboard for gameplay.

Let me know what your preferences are.
13 5/24/2018 7:52:00 PM June 1941 Allied Message To be clear - I referring to optional rules on Page 17 of the 2006 rules - I presume we are using that rulebook.

And I would like to use CyberBoard rather than Vassel. I have the 4.0 CBox that is posted on GMT's website.
Okay with both of these?

And are we using ACT to draw cards and resolve dice rolls? It has been several years since I last played B2B using ACTS and this is my first chance to use CyberBoard with it.
If you are in agreement with all of these points, then go ahead with your first turn and send the game file and first turn file to:

12 5/24/2018 6:37:00 AM June 1941 Axis Message Nope, just the basic game. No changes. 2 and 24 will suffice.
11 5/24/2018 6:26:00 AM June 1941 Allied Message All Set. Which rules concerning Russian Reinforcements do you want to use? Cards 2 and 24.
Any of the other optional or balance rules you want to use?
