73 5/26/2018 9:19:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #81: 3 / Emancipation Proclamation - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player must play this card as an EC on the Strategy Round immediately following a Union large or medium battle victory. Confederate loses 10 SW and 3 SPs (his choice). Union loses 5 SW. Flip GT marker to its Emancipation Proclamation side. Card must be the last one played by a player at which time it can be played as an OC card. If the play of this card as an OC results in a battle victory, there is no Emancipation Proclamation Remove from deck if event is played. If this card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at the end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Confederate:
Whew - made it!
I had to play very conservatively this turn to avoid triggering Emancipation. That's why I didn't take the intercept into Bloomington - too risky that you would win the battle. I was also sweating the move to Harpers Ferry, but figured even if you intercepted I was likely to win the battle.
Good move with Pope - I was planning to go that way. Now I'll have to run the gauntlet by AoP again.

Activate Van Dorn. He will take all 5 infantry SPs from AoNV, leaving JJ with only Stuart's cavalry brigade.

1) Van Dorn + 5 SPs to Winchester
2) to Harpers Ferry
I will roll for interception as I'm sure you would try it again.

Turn 3 is often a turn just to survive - the lack of reinforcements on both sides makes operations a lot risker. But, I'll take a risk here.
