I’ve seen it ruled both ways on Boardgame Geek, so will wait a short time for a definitive ruling.
309 7/21/2018 3:28:00 PM Summer 1863 Union Message You're right, I compared strategy rating...
308 7/21/2018 2:35:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Thomas, I have Jackson as a Political Value 2 and Ewell as a Political Value 1. Shouldn't Jackson be the Commanding General?
307 7/21/2018 1:51:00 PM Summer 1863 Union Message If you want to intercept, Ewell will does it (highest political rank), not Jackson. That's for sur (rule 5.31 about commanding general).
Next steps, my opinion:
If you use cavalry modifier for this interception Ewell should bring Wheeler with him. As a corps could move only with 2 general, Jackson should be left behind. As a general should not be left alone 1sp should remains with him.
So to summarize what I believe: Ewell will try to intercept, if successful he would only bring with him Wheeler brigade.
306 7/21/2018 1:23:00 PM Summer 1863 Confederate Message Thomas, I'm going to try to intercept, but I'm not sure who goes and who stays. I'm sending a query to James to get some direction. Have you run into this before?
