52 7/11/2018 1:41:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #101: 3 / Chickamauga
Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5.

Message from Confederate:
I'll play this as the Event.

SM 1SP from Steven AL (n0) to Nashville TN (n4)
SM 1SP from Corinth MS (n0) to Nashville TN (n5)
SM 1SP from New Orleans LA (n0) to Nashville TN (n6)
SM 1SP from Wilmington NC (n0) to Nashville TN (n7)
SM 1SP from Norfolk VA (n0) to Nashville TN (n8)

Activate in Nashville TN. He will take 6SP and move to Clinton TN to battle the Union 2SP there. Smith will leave 2SP behind in Nashville TN.

Smith will travel through south through Tennessee (and not through KY) to reach Clinton TN on 5 MP's.

I have no Battle Cards to play.

This is a Medium Battle

The Confederates get a +1DRM for Smith, and a +2DRM for a Force Ratio of 3-1, for a total of +3DRM.

Please play any Battle Cards and roll combat.

50 7/10/2018 6:03:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #25: 1 / Confederate Railroad Degradation
The Union player may randomly remove one strategy card from the Confederate hand, which is discarded.

Message from Confederate:
Place a Confederate PC marker in Lewisburg WV.
49 7/10/2018 6:01:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message The game starts with the Union SW at 100-.

There has been nothing done in the game so far that impacted SW, until you promoted Pope to be the commanding general for the AoT.

The is a -2SW penalty for the Union because Pope as not the most senior general available. So it drops to 98-. There are no further penalties.
48 7/10/2018 4:27:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #72: 2 / John Ericsson's Monitor Fleet
The Union Amphibious Assault modifier is increased by two.

Message from Union:
Union Card 3
Play as OPS

Place PC in Parkersburg and Charleston WV
47 7/10/2018 4:24:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Message So Union SW was mistakenly increased to 105 for McClellan. Reduce to 100. Now the Union reduce to 95 for Pope (-2 for placing him in command of AofTN and -3 for negative change in SW)
46 7/9/2018 9:07:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Also, the Union promoted Pope for the AoT, so there was a SW penalty for the other higher ranking generals on the map not currently in an Army (i.e. Fremont, Burnside, etc.)

But you mentioned McClelland, who was not promoted. He was just placed into the AoP. He has to be promoted with a OC play, for him to replace McDowell as commander of the AoP.
45 7/9/2018 9:03:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Looking at the ACTS Journal:

Message #23 - The last SM involving Manassas was:
1SP from Savannah GA (n0) to Manassas VA (n6)

Message #28 - Place Stuart in Manassas VA. Now have Beauregard, Staurt's 1SP Cav Brigade, and 5SP in Manassas VA.

So it was stated that Stuart's Cav Brigade took 1SP from the stack at Manassas.

When the AoNV was formed, it was 5SP or Regular Troops, and 1SP for the Cav Brigade, so the Army Tracker Marker is placed at 6SP, according to the rules.

Am I missing something?

44 7/9/2018 7:51:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message I guess my question is more to the point - when Stuart was placed in Manassas during the general placement phase was 1SP removed? It seems that if there were 6SP's in Manassas, Stuart was placed, then there would be one less SP.
43 7/8/2018 12:23:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message McDowell is still in charge of the AoP. I know that McClellan was sent there, but I believe you have to play an OC card in order to relieve McDowell of command, via Rule 5.61.
42 7/8/2018 12:21:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message I agree that there is 5SP plus 1SP Cavalry Brigade in Manassas VA. But I read the 2nd-to-last sentence of Rule 5.21:

"Use the corresponding Army SP Marker to denote the current strength of the Army (including Cavalry)."

Doesn't that make it 6SP on the tracker?

41 7/8/2018 11:39:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message Shouldn't the AofNV be only 5SPs since the creation of the Stuart Cav Brigade requires the loss of 1SP in the space per rule 5.51?

The SW for the Union drops to 98 for the placing of McClelland in charge of army. However as we are using optional rule 5.67, placing McClelland in charge of an army adds 5 to the Union SW plus 2 for positive direction. Union SW is now 105.
40 7/6/2018 11:24:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #74: 2 / Political Crisis
The Union player may remove or demote one Union general for no SW cost. The cost for promoting a general with a lower political value still applies. OR remove ANY Union non-commanding general (even second in commands) from the game.

Message from Confederate:
Form the Army of Northern Virginia (AoNV) in Manassas VA.

A.Johnston is the Commanding General.

Stuart is the Cavalry General General.

Bragg is an Other General.

The AoNV has 6SP.
39 7/6/2018 7:35:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Message Yes I do - will take the -2SW
38 7/5/2018 5:13:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message There are quite a few Generals on the map with a higher Political Rating than Pope in Cincinnati. So the Union will suffer a 2SW penalty, dropping from 100- to 98-.

Do you still wish to proceed?
