292 7/5/2018 9:54:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #5: 1 / Dysentery
The person playing the card may remove one enemy SP from any space that contains more than one SP.

Message from Confederate:
Nothing heard, so I'm assuming I'm good to proceed.
Big surprise - activate Lee and AoM.
1) to Chambersburg
2) convert
3) to Harpers Ferry
4) to Frederick
5) convert
6) to DC to attack Grant
You have opportunity to intercept in Frederick.
Grant now +2 for generals (-2 on Grant due to lack of cavalry), +2 for either interception or fort = +4
Lee still +7
291 7/5/2018 5:18:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Message Nice! Grant just lost his cavalry.
Stoneman dies, replaced next turn by Mitchell.
You can take his SP as one of your losses, so no change to AoM's strength of 6.
Before I continue, Lee is actually in Harpers Ferry not Manassas (that's where he entered Frederick from). I don't think that will change your move, but just in case please confirm, and then I'll continue with the saga of Lee vs. Grant.

US SW -10 -3 FoW to 69- for loss of an army.

Lee continues the move.
3) convert Winchester
4) to Harpers Ferry
5) convert
6) to Frederick. You have option to intercept from DC if desired. Otherwise, your turn anyway.

Message from Confederate:
Sorry, but I think you miscalculated my drm. I always get 2 subordinates, but in this case can't use Morgan.
So, drm is +1 Lee (no cavalry, so -2), +2 Longstreet, +1 Van Dorn, and +3 for 4:1 odds = +7.
Therefore, the final roll was a 10, so I lose 1 and you lose 3, sending AoP to the dustbin of history (at least for now). It was still probably worth a shot playing the card, but you needed me to roll a 1 or 2.

I can't lose a general due to the odds; you lose one on a "1"
281 7/4/2018 10:51:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Message You only killed 2 so AotP lives for another round. back to you file being sent

279 7/4/2018 10:47:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Event #105: 1 / Detached Cavalry
Played prior to a battle against an army possessing one or more cavalry brigades. The ONLY effects are the Armyís Commanding Generalís battle rating (offense or defense) is immediately reduced by 2 and no Cavalry generalís battle ratings may be used in the battle. The effects end at the conclusion of the battle. Cavalry generals are not available for casualty determination. OR: Place one PC marker in any space within four spaces (includes river connections) of a single cavalry brigade. The four space range many not be traced through Northeast Alabama. The space may not contain an enemy SP or fort, but may contain an Ironclad or Torpedoes.

Message from Union:
hate trying this but it cost you 4DRM
so here we go
278 7/4/2018 9:45:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #101: 3 / Chickamauga
Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5.

Message from Confederate:
All right, time to give you something else to think about, and push the course of the war in a better direction, especially with Hancock and 3 SPs (now 2) off to Fort Fisher.
1 SP each from Bowling Green, Vicksburg n1, Atlanta, Charleston and Dover n1 to Manassas.
Activate Lee and AoM n14.
1) to Strasburg. You have option to intercept with AoP
2) to Winchester to attack AoP. You have option to retreat.
Note: if you intercept, you may leave 1 SP behind in the fort if desired, but you don't have to.
Assuming no interception or retreat, USA is +1 (McClellan zero due to lack of cavalry, only one subordinate) +2 fort = +3.
CSA is +7 for generals, +3 for odds for +10. No general casualty roll for me due to odds.
You can decide on intercept/retreat and resolve. If you retreat, I will convert then move into your space to attack. If you retreat again, I'll have to decide which way I'm going after reaching Harpers Ferry.
If the battle happens, I will continue moving.
277 7/4/2018 9:26:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Message Your SW flipped, so you get an additional +2 for FoW to 82+

275 7/4/2018 5:06:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #95: 2 / Strategy Board
Union player may make a naval move with up to three SPs plus one general.

274 7/4/2018 3:47:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #81: 3 / Emancipation Proclamation - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player must play this card as an EC on the Strategy Round immediately following a Union large or medium battle victory. Confederate loses 10 SW and 3 SPs (his choice). Union loses 5 SW. Flip GT marker to its Emancipation Proclamation side. Card must be the last one played by a player at which time it can be played as an OC card. If the play of this card as an OC results in a battle victory, there is no Emancipation Proclamation Remove from deck if event is played. If this card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at the end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Confederate:
I guess Abe really was pleased - have to play this to triple the pain.
CSA SW -10 to 63-
USA SW -5 -3 FoW to 79-

Message from Confederate:
You were actually +7: +1 for Buell, +2 for Pleasonton and Rosecrans, +2 for odds, and +2 because I am OOS (8.11 says Confederates can only trace along a river through friendly or neutral spaces, so Memphis cuts the supply route).
Therefore, the result was 3/3*, meaning you actually won the battle and take the fort.
CSA SW -1 to 73-
USA SW +1 +2 FoW to 87+

You have 1 movement left.
You can't lose a general due to odds and me being OOS.
You rolled the 10, so I lose a general on a 1. Assuming I pass, back to you to take your last move.

Lee will attempt interception to Manassas.
Succeeds on 1-5
199 6/28/2018 12:16:00 PM Spring 1863 Union Message However, you could also intercept with Lee, so if you choose to do that, go ahead and fight the battle assuming you succeed. If you don't fight the Longstreet tussle.

197 6/28/2018 12:10:00 PM Spring 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #35: 1 / Elite Units
Place an Elite unit marker in any space with an Army. CSA: Stonewall Bde or Hoodís Tigers. USA: Iron Bde or Wilderís Bde. Cannot be played if all elite unit markers are in play for that side.

Message from Union:
play for OPS Grant returns to DC and check on Longstreet.
196 6/27/2018 10:45:00 PM Spring 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #20: 3 / Union Arms Production Delayed
Confederate removes two Union SPs (Confederate chooses). No more than one SP can be removed from a space and the SP cannot be the last SP in the space.

Message from Confederate:
Activate Lee and AoM again.
1) to Grafton
2) convert
3) to Franklin
4) convert
5) to Strasburg
6) convert
Now Grant can head west and I'll settle for DC :)
195 6/27/2018 10:42:00 PM Spring 1863 Confederate Message Your move was fine. The danger is that if I had Mud March, it would force you to combine the two armies losing 10 SW. Often players will move somewhere else (like Baltimore) first in case that card comes out. However, I don't have it.
