You are correct about the US KIAs, they should be at 6. I never recorded Birney's loss on the VP track. My apologies.
Do you want Early to advance into 3303?
|78||7/2/2018 7:32:00 AM||Turn 2||Confederate||Message||
I thought that there were 2 battles where we each lost 1SP early on. Then you lost 2 in cavalry retreats. Recently, Birney lost 1 and now Geary. That would be 6.
|77||7/2/2018 5:37:00 AM||Turn 2||Union||Message||
A couple of things. On the VP track, you increased the US KIA by 2. US was at 4 at start of log file, so I believe that US should be a 5 now (not 6). Second, Geary was at F0, so I believe he should be at F3 after the assault. I adjusted both, but let me know if I missed something.
Geary takes 1 MV loss (8 to 7)
Slocum and stack retreats to 3005
I'm not sure if you want Early to advance into 3303. Go ahead and move him if you wish and then you can roll for init 22.

|71||6/30/2018 4:43:00 PM||Turn 2||Union||Message||
One thing, during Init 16, I believe Early could have only reached 3401 and not 3502. He only had 3 MP and needed to add +1 MP when he left the Union ZOC moving from 3201 to 3334. No big deal, but that would mean Early had 2 MP remaining before the Cav Retreat. In that case, Early's move would be over after Cav retreat. Let me know if you disagree.

Your explanation makes sense. You can move forward. No need to redo it.
|31||6/20/2018 11:59:00 AM||Turn 1||Union||Message||
You are correct. Upon review of my last move, I agree that Williams did not have the required MPs to enter hex 3202 the way I played Initiative 20.
However, during Initiative 20, two units, Williams and Art Res 3, were activated and moved into hex 3202 during the same activation. If I had moved the units in the opposite order (i.e. moved Williams first and Art Res 3 second), then both units could have moved into hex 3202. In that case, Williams would have been able to enter the hex 3202 because there would have been only 11 CV present which would have only required a +1 MP Penalty to enter the hex. Afterwards, the Art Res 3 Brig. would been able to enter the hex and pay the +2 MP penalty now required with 12+ CV present in the hex.
Based upon the fact that there existed a possible method to move both Williams and the Art Res into hex 3202, are you ok if leave the board is? If this is too confusing to follow with only words, I can redo the ini 20 log in a legal fashion for clarity. I apologize for my sloppiness. In the future, I will be sure to have two cups of coffee before doing those early morning moves!

I think I see where the confusion is coming from. You are thinking that Howard was still with Barlow. However, on ini 7, Howard transferred to Steinwehr and they both moved into Gettysburg with Schurz. You can see the move in "012_BoG_turn1_ini7.vlog". So, Howard was already in Gettysburg in Initiative 9.

Howard was not part of Meade's stack that retreated to 3305. He was already in Gettysburg attached to Steinwehr. He only switched from Steinwehr to Schurz who was also in Gettysburg.
