KT
146 10/20/2018 6:23:00 AM Sep-Dec 1942 Japanese Play Strategy card as Event #64: 2 / Weather: Halsey's Typhoon
Allied Offensive is canceled. All units are placed back at their starting locations. The Japanese player may reduce one full strength Allied CA or DD naval unit (Japanese player choice) that was activated for the canceled Offensive. This can only reduce, not eliminate, the naval unit. If none of the specified naval units are available, there is no additional effect. Draw one Strategy Card.

OC: 4 EC: 0

Message from Japanese:
HI Forrest,
Again no log on my part. This card cancels McArthur's recent offensive in the S. Pacific. I do not think you used a DD or CA, so that part is NA. Regardless, back to you to "undo" the move and play your next card. Feel free to pull this one in Cyberboard. Note, however, that it is removed from play. KT
145 10/19/2018 11:24:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Allies Message Note that the land battle in Guadalcanal is an auto victory for me -- your unit dies and it can't harm the 1st Marines, no matter what we roll...
144 10/19/2018 11:22:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Allies Message No surprise. However, I was wrong about something -- no of your units can react into the Guadalcanal battle, but a few can reach some of the other battle hexes. So, go ahead and do a reaction move and send it to me. Then, either of us can roll the battles.

AVG dies and flip the 5th Army Air.

Incidentally, you have the air units backwards. The longer ranged twin-engine air units are naval and the shorter ranged single engine are army. (Think Betty bomber, which was only operated by the IJN. The army had other bombers.)

Message from Allies:
Air-Naval combat in Mandalay, Japanese roll first.

Japanese - 21
Allies - 5
90 9/4/2018 11:37:00 AM May-Aug 1942 Allies Message Hi, Kevin -- I understand why you are confused. What happened was, when I went through your move, the message about the attacks was long on only the last attack, the air attack on Rangoon, appeared in the window. I thought all the other units were attacking 2108.

After your email I looked at your move again, and saw that I needed to scroll up to see more of the message, and when I did, there were the other two attacks.

Not a big deal. The results from the air attack on Rangoon aren't changed by the absence of the AVG air unit, except I only score 15 hits instead of 20, still enough to flip Shokaku.

I will go roll the attack on Mandalay next -- if the AVG survives it will go to Akyab. Barring a crit. hit, your guys won't be damaged.

The ground combat does not need to be rolled, it is an auto-victory for you and I can't damage your guys.
89 9/3/2018 9:36:00 AM May-Aug 1942 Allies Message You get 15 hits to apply as you wish -- I will leave my units tipped and slightly offset for your choice.

I get 20 hits and will flip Shokaku. My return move is on it's way.

84 9/2/2018 9:35:00 AM May-Aug 1942 Allies Message Hi, Kevin. You didn't apply the losses right in the Columbo battle hex. Warspite and Exter are both in the hex and therefore in the battle. You must flip the full strength units before you can elim the last step if any unit, therefore Warspite and Exter flip and the other two units remain.

My SEAC air unit will use post battle movement to go to Rangoon. I am just going to play a car as a F.O. this round, so on to you for your AP6.

efficiency roll in Rangoon
81 9/1/2018 9:56:00 AM May-Aug 1942 Allies Message Actually, the only unit I want to activate is the SEAC air unit. He will go to Madras to help spread the losses around. You can move him and roll the combats. He will return to Rangoon, assuming the FE air unit dies in that combat, otherwise back to Calcutta.
