612 6/6/2019 7:11:00 PM Spring 1865 Confederate Message These were my last two cards. I was saving a "3" card in case you were able to do an amphibious assault against Vicksburg.
3 / Clara Barton (Union)
2 / Bermuda Blockade Surge (Confederate)
For most of the game after turn 3 the Confederates had more strength points than the Union on the map even though they were spread out defending the coast. This was one of the closest games I have had.
611 6/3/2019 3:06:00 PM Spring 1865 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #82: 3 / Foreign Intervention - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player can play this card as an EC when Confederate SW is 110+. If this is the last card in a players hand or the second to last and the player holds the Emancipation Proclamation, if the condition is met, it must be played as an EC, if not it can be played as an OC. EFFECTS: 1. Union Blockade reduced by one (cannot become greater than 4 for the remainder of the game). 2. Union -2 SP Reinforcements for the remainder of the game (Union choice). 3. Union SW reduced by 10. Remove from deck if event is played. If card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Union:
Last card...

Even with these two '3' cards, could not find a combo to insure that a win was possible. If I had a campaign card, maybe would have been able to put something together, but your AoWest was poised to rectify any move into Ark and your ANV was gonna keep me honest in the East...just lost too much ealier in the game...but your game play was exceptional.
610 6/3/2019 3:04:00 PM Spring 1865 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #10: 3 / Dorothea Dix
Union immediately receives three SPs. Place in the Union Capital or in any space (friendly or not) that contains a Union army with a LOC.

Message from Union:
next to last card
609 6/3/2019 12:28:00 AM Spring 1865 Union Message I cannot bring your SW to zero...terrific game! One of the best I have played...you are a most formidiable opponent! Most enjoyable game! Another with change of sides?
608 5/29/2019 9:29:00 AM Spring 1865 Union Message Will be away from the game till Monday...have a great weekend and will catch up with things upon my return.
607 5/21/2019 7:08:00 PM Spring 1865 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #123: 1 / Quantrill’s Raiders
If played by the Confederate player place or flip 2 PC makers in a Missouri space (except St. Louis), which does not contain Union SPs or forts. If played by the Union player increase Union SW by 1 for increased resolve due to atrocities. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
Use this to activate Hood in Little Rock, Ark. He will take the 2 SPs there and move
1. Camden
2. Shreveport and pick up the 2 SPs there (n4)
3. Monroe
4. Vicksburg
5. Jackson, Ms joining the AoSW (now 10 SPs)
606 5/21/2019 11:38:00 AM Spring 1865 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #8: 1 / 3 Cigars
Play this card to make an automatic one or two space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during intercept.

Message from Union:
AoTenn (n11) leaves 1SP in Corinth, moves to Pittsburgh Landing (p/u 2SPs & Schofield - n12), then moves back thru Corinth, to Grand Jct (drops 1 & converts - n11), then to Memphis.
605 5/19/2019 9:05:00 PM Spring 1865 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #122: 3 / Crisis in the West
If two or more Confederate armies are in Virginia, the Confederate player places (Confederate choice) one army (placed, not moved) in a Confederate controlled Resource space (destroyed or not), Riverine port, or Blockade Runner port (open or closed) in Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, or Texas. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
Use this to activate A. Johnston and the Army of Mississippi at Memphis. He will take all 6 SPs and all generals and move:
1. Panola
2. Grenada
3. Winona
4. Canton City
5. Jackson where he drops off 4 SPs including Stuart and Hardee with Jackson and the Army of SouthWest (now 6 SPs) leaving Bragg and 2 SPs in AoM
6. Vicksburg joining the 2 SPs in the fort there. AoM now 4 SPs.
604 5/18/2019 12:45:00 PM Spring 1865 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #107: 1 / Guerilla Raids Delay Supply
Play as interrupt to cancel the activation of any Union general with a strategy rating of 2 or 3.

Sorry, been busy....but on thought...AoPot will attempt to retire
600 5/9/2019 9:58:00 AM Spring 1865 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #101: 3 / Chickamauga
Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5.

Message from Confederate:
Sorry for the delay again.
Use this as an event. I will move the following SPs to Joe Johnson in Goldsboro, NC.
2 SPs from Holmsville, Ms
1 SP from Grenada, Ms
1 SP from Macon, Ga
1 SP from Charleston, SC (leaves 1)
Joe Johnston leaves 6 SPs from the AoNVa and takes the remaining 5 SPs + 5 that were strategic moved making 10 in the AoNVa and takes all the generals including Forrest and moves:
1. Weldon, NC
2. Hickford Jct
3. Petersburg, Va
4. Richmond where he picks up Longstreet and 3 of the 5 SPs there leaving 2. AoNVa now 13 SPs
5. Hanover to battle the AoP. Joe would have +6 for generals.
If McDowell withdraws then I will use the last movement point to convert Hanover.
599 5/5/2019 9:44:00 PM Spring 1865 Union Message Yes, AoPot converts Hanover & done. Good rollin! I was rather hopin for a Gen cas on the Rebs, but we cannot have everythig in this late game report...situation still pretty tenuious.
598 5/5/2019 3:31:00 PM Spring 1865 Confederate Message Union gets lucky at Hanover and wins with a 2* to 2 result by outrolling me 4 to 2. Union AoP drops from 10 to 8 SPs. Longstreet loses from 5 down to 3 SPs. Since the Union won the Confederate fort is destroyed and Longstreet retreats back to Richmond and picks up the 2 SPs there (now 5 SPs). Strategic will changes: -1 for the Confederates and go from 28- to 27-. Union gains +1 SW and +2 for the change and goes from 58- to 61+. No "modified 10" was rolled so there are no general casualties. The battle was at 2-1 odds so you have 1 movement point left which will probably be used to convert Hanover. Check this out to make sure I got it correct.

1st roll attacking Union Army of the Potomac with 10 SPs and +3 for generals
2nd roll defending Confederate corp under Longstreet with 5 SPs and +3 for Longstreet and +2 for the fort for a total of +5.

4th roll for possible Confederate general loss
596 5/5/2019 12:39:00 AM Spring 1865 Union Message Roger that on Halleck, sorry for the error!

AoPot converts Gordonsville, then attacks Longstreet...
595 5/4/2019 9:37:00 AM Spring 1865 Confederate Message I will not try and intercept at Gordonsville. Longstreet will stay in the fort at Hanover.
Halleck should be 2nd in command in the Union army of Tennessee. He moved into that army on log #500 when he moved from the DC area to Wytheville joining Sherman's AoT (which has since moved into Western Tennessee and now back to central Tennessee at Franklin).
594 5/3/2019 5:52:00 PM Spring 1865 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #20: 3 / Union Arms Production Delayed
Confederate removes two Union SPs (Confederate chooses). No more than one SP can be removed from a space and the SP cannot be the last SP in the space.

Message from Union:
AoPot (n7) moves from Fredericksburg to Manassas (p/u Burnside, Halleck & 2SPs - n9), then to Strasburg (p/u 1SP - n10), then move to Gordonsville...your options??
593 5/3/2019 11:27:00 AM Spring 1865 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #60: 2 / USS Monitor
The Union player may remove one Confederate ironclad from the mapboard.

Message from Confederate:
Use this to activate J. Johnston and the Army of Northern Virginia at Hanover. He will leave Longstreet and 5 SPs at Hanover in the fort and move all the other generals and 1 SP to:
1. Williamsburg where he picks up 2 SPs (AoNVa n3)
2. Richmond

590 4/27/2019 2:00:00 AM Spring 1865 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #108: 2 / Richmond Bread Riots

579 4/12/2019 6:13:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Three Blockade runner SPs failed and Confederate Strategic Will drops from 34- to 28-. Much too low for my comfort. Only the Charlestown SP enters and Charlestown is now at 2 SPs.

Confederate reinforcements for Spring 1865:
1 at Hanover, Va (AoNVa now 6)
1 at Goldsboro, NC
1 at Charlestown, SC
1 at Dalton, Ga
1 at Missionary Ridge, Tn (AoT now 4)
1 at Grenada, MS
1 at Mobile, Al
1 at New Orleans, La (n2)
That's 8 SPs.
Blockade runner SPs will attempt to enter at:
1st roll Sabine, TX
2nd roll Mobile, Al
3rd roll Charlestown, SC'
4th roll Wilmington, NC
Blockade level is at 4 so I need big numbers.
577 4/12/2019 2:08:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message That last play was pretty sneaky! Good observation!

Yank reinforcements:
8 to WDC - n10
6 to Cinncy - n6
4 to Cairo - n4
576 4/10/2019 3:47:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message I left out War weariness and Confederate War guilt changes. Union Strategic Will drops 5 and 3 more for the change and goes from 68+ to 60-.
Confederate SW drops 5 and 3 more for the change and goes from 42+ to 34- SW.
575 4/10/2019 3:39:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message End of turn phases:
Political control:
No capital changes
Union PC markers go down at:
New Bern, NC
Humboldt, TN
Lexington, TN
Pittsburg Landing, TN
Waynesboro, TN
No markers go down at Shelbyville or McMinnville because you can't trace a LOC to those places.

Confederates remove Union PC markers at:
Rogersville, TN
Clinton, TN
Columbia, TN
Franklin, TN
Nashville, TN

I see no state changes. The Union almost has Tennessee with 10 places but not enough to convert at this time. Chattanooga, Tullahoma, Murfreesboro, Waynesboro, Pittsburg Landing, Clarksville, Dover, McKenzie, Lexington, and Humboldt are Union controlled.

Attrition:
Union AoP drops 2 from 9 to 7 SPs
Union AoC drops 1 for attrition and 1 more for foraging and goes from 6 to 4 SPs.
Union AoT drops 1 from 5 to 4 SPs
New Bern 3 SPs drops 1 down to 2 SPs.

Confederate attrition:
AoNVa drops 1 and goes from 6 to 5 SPs.
AoM drops 1 and and goes from 5 to 4 SPs
AoT drops 1 and goes from 4 to 3 SPs.

Over to you to look this over and take reinforcements.
574 4/10/2019 8:45:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #52: 3 / Trent Affair
Confederate gains 5 SW points. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
Sorry for the delay again. It has been a very busy week and I'm behind on almost everything including taxes.
I wanted to use this as an event but I see a chance to keep Tennessee one more turn so I'll take that. Use this as operations to activate Early at Dalton, Ga. He takes the 1 SP there and moves:
1. Kingston, Ga where he picks up 2 more SPs (now 3)
2. Jacksonville, Al. (since he is activated with a "3" card this is allowed by rule 5.10 on page 23 of my rules) (and only 1 movement point since it is adjacent to rail heads)
3. Decatur, Al (which is a Southern railhead)
4. Columbia, TN (adjacent to railhead) where he drops off 1 SP (now 2 with Early)
5 & 6. Franklin, TN where he drops off 1 SP (now 1)
7 & 8. Nashville, TN where he ends with 1 SP.
Calls to my mind Hood's move into Tennessee late in the war and also, Lee sending Early against Washington late in the war.
573 4/7/2019 2:37:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #90: 3 / Habeas Corpus
Reduce Union SW by 2. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:
3SPs launch from WDC to float to New Bern.
572 4/4/2019 12:52:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #44: 2 / Western Virginia
Place three Union PC markers in any West Virginia space free of Confederate SPs. If the space contains a Confederate PC marker, it is flipped. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
Let's try this again. Instead of activating A. Johnston at Memphis I will activate A.P. Hill at Missionary Ridge to do a corp move. He will take 1 SP leaving the AoT with 4 SPs and move:
1. Dalton, Ga and pick up Wharton and his 1 SP cavalry brigade (leaves Early with 1 SP). Hill now with 2 SPs.
2. Cleveland
3. Knoxville
4. Clinton where he drops off Wharton and his 1 SP cavalry brigade
5. Knoxville
6. Rogersville where he ends with the 1 SP.
571 4/4/2019 8:11:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Return Strategy card to hand #44: 2 / Western Virginia

Message from Confederate:
Whoops, I see that McPherson has 2 SPs instead of 1. Scratch that move
570 4/4/2019 8:09:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Let me modify that move slightly. On the 4th movement point I will drop one SP in Corinth so that the AoM is 4 SPs and the battle in Pittsburg Landing on the 5th movement point would be a small battle at 4-1 odds.
569 4/4/2019 8:05:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #44: 2 / Western Virginia
Place three Union PC markers in any West Virginia space free of Confederate SPs. If the space contains a Confederate PC marker, it is flipped. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
I apologize again for the delay. It has been a really busy week. Also, your last move was very strong and will likely cause the Union control of Tennessee.
Use this for operations to activate A. S. Johnson in Memphis and the AoM. He will take all generals and the 5 SPs and move:
1. Panola
2. Grenada
3. Oxford
4. Corinth (where McPherson could try and intercept)
5. Pittsburg Landing to battle McPherson where McPherson could attempt to withdraw from battle.
6. back to Corinth.
Your response?
568 4/1/2019 Fall 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #17: 3 / CSA Purchasing Agent
Confederate immediately receives three SPs in any open Blockade Runner Port, no more than one SP per port, but more than one SP per Blockade Zone is permitted. If insufficient ports are available, the excess SPs are lost.

Message from Union:
McPherson is dispatched from AoCumb w 6SPs (6 left in the AoCumb), moves to McMinnville (drops 2 - n4), then back to Tullahoma, then to Shelbyville (drops 1 - n3), then to Columbia, then to Waynesboro (drops 1 - n2), & ends in Pitts Landing with 2SPs.
567 3/31/2019 7:31:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #19: 1 / Belmont
Either player may move up to two infantry SPs from the same space as if led by a General. This move is a Corps move and may enter enemy controlled spaces because the SPs are moving as if they are led by a general.

Message from Confederate:
Use this card to activate Lee and the Confederate AoT at Missionary Ridge with 6 SPs. Lee will take all and move:
1. Cleveland, TN
2. Knoxville, TN
3. Convert Knoxville to remove Union PC marker
4. Clinton, TN and battle the 2 Union SPs there.
Battle at Clinton would be a medium battle:
Attacking Confederate AoT with +2 for 3-1 odds and +6 for generals for a net of +8 which gives at least a 2* result eliminating the Union 2 SPs.
Defending Union 2 SPs with no adds gives a 1 result with no need to roll and no generals lost on a 3-1 battle. AoT drops to 5 SPs and the Union force is eliminated.
5. AoT moves all back to Knoxville
6. AoT moves back to Cleveland. (AoT now 5 SPs).
Sorry for the delay but it was a good week working in North Carolina with my church. I haven't worked that hard in years and I'm really feeling it.
566 3/24/2019 7:12:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message AoTenn remains at 5SPs total without her Cav.

563 3/23/2019 8:36:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Sherman wins at Humboldt with a 3* to 3 result. Confederate Army of Mississippi drops to 3 SPs and retreats back to Memphis and picks up the 2 SPs there (now 5 SPs in AoM). Union Army of Tennessee drops to 5 SPs and you also have a general casualty. I'll let you roll for that loss.
I don't feel confident that I have this game "in the bag" at all. There are so many variables with a card driven game that anything could happen and there are still lots of cards to play.
I will be away this next week and won't get you a move until possibly next Saturday, Sunday or Monday (if I survive working on houses that were flooded last fall in North Carolina).

Message from Confederate:
I probably should do something else but I will play this as an event and increase the Confederate Strategic Will by 3. Confederate SW goes from 37- +3 for the event and +2 for the change to positive and ends at 42+. Union stays at 68+
558 3/21/2019 5:49:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #75: 2 / Western Concentration Block
Confederate player can either remove or demote an army commander in any state except Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Florida for no political cost. OR Confederate Player may move 5 SPs using Strategic Movement (rail connections only) to the same space with a Confederate General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more Union SPs or fort. If a general casualty occurs in a battle caused by this card, the Commanding General is eligible, this is an exception to the rules. See 4.5 Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Union:

557 3/14/2019 8:48:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Enjoy the grandkids. Much more important than the game. I will be away for most of the last week of this month working with my church on repairing some hurricane damage from last fall in North Carolina.
556 3/14/2019 3:00:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message I will be outta pocket with the game till Monday, 3/18 pm...going to watch the grandkids swim at the Kentucky States...will catch-up with things then.
555 3/6/2019 9:01:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #1: 1 / Empty Haversacks
Can be played as an Interrupt card to cancel the activation of any Confederate force, OR during a Union player's turn to cause a Confederate force to immediately execute an attrition procedure. In addition, conduct Forage if force has no LOC.

Message from Confederate:
Good move and the cost in Strategic Will gives a 13 point difference which is worth about half a state in the final tally. This also forces Lee's survivors in the AoT to do something to avoid getting hit with overwhelming odds.
Use this card to activate Lee and the Confederate AoT at Chattanooga with 3 SPs. Lee will take all and move:
1. Missionary Ridge and pick up 1 SP and Van Dorn (leaving 1 SP) (n4 in AoT)
2. Dalton, Ga and pick up 2 SPs (leaves 2 SP with Early and Wharton) (n6 in AoT)
3. Cleveland, TN
4. Knoxville, TN to battle the 2 Union SPs there.

Battle at Knoxville would be a medium battle:
Attacking Confederate AoT with +2 for 3-1 odds and +6 for generals for a net of +8 which gives at least a 2* result eliminating the Union 2 SPs.
Defending Union 2 SPs with no adds gives a 1 result with no need to roll and no generals lost on a 3-1 battle. AoT drops to 5 SPs and the Union force is eliminated.
5. AoT moves all back to Cleveland
6. AoT moves back to Missionary Ridge picking up the 1 SP left there. (AoT now 6 SPs).
You might have another 2 space intercept card for the battle of Knoxville otherwise I see no need to roll and it is your turn.
554 3/5/2019 12:44:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Message AoCumb (n12) will move from Franklin to Nashville (convert), then to Murfreesboro (convert), then to Tullahoma (convert).

SW impact of Nashville's demise:
-5SW for the Rebs from 42- to 37-
+5SW for the Yanks from 61- to 68+
553 3/2/2019 12:44:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Almost.
From Franklin:
2MPs to Columbus
But 2MP to the port of Decatur because it is not yet a friendly port for the Union and the rail segment from Franklin to Columbus is not connected by rail to the North edge or to a Union port yet,
1MP to convert;
1MP to Steven
1MP to either Tullahoma or Chattanooga (but that would be 7 movement points)

If you are trying to fight Lee at Chattanooga, you can move:
2 MP Murfreesboro
2 MP Tullahoma
2 MP Chattanooga but you would be out of supply and give Lee another +2. But Lee would try to avoid the battle back to Missionary ridge and would succeed on a 5 or less roll.

When Sherman marched the Union Army of Tennessee down from Wytheville it cost him 2 MPs per space and 1 to convert even though he was in supply because the rail didn't connect through West Virginia to the North edge or a port.
552 3/1/2019 2:59:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message OK, so from Franklin:
2MPs to Columbus,
1MP to the port of Decatur, 1MP to convert;
1MP to Steven
1MP to Tullahoma

yes?
551 2/28/2019 8:35:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Log 537 on Lee's move over to battle Reynolds and the Union AoM on the 4th movement point the Confederates converted Decatur back to the South. Otherwise, it would serve as a source for the rail LOC in middle Tennessee.
550 2/28/2019 3:30:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message Rail connection from Decatur (port) to Franklin provides LOC & logistics...NO?
549 2/20/2019 8:06:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Without the rail connection at Nashville, that move from Franklin to Columbia would cost 2 and 2 more to Decatur, then you would need 1 to convert Decatur, then it would only cost 1 to move to Steven but your 6 movement points would be up. The rail segment from Franklin to Columbia is yours but it is not connected to the North or a port at this time without Nashville or Decatur. Dover is a port and to move into Franklin would only cost 1 but there is no rail from Dover to Franklin on my map. So at this point there in not a rail connection or rail head adjacent to Columbia. I may have overexplained and made this clear as mud. Taking Nashville will cost me a bunch of SW and you will gain a bunch pf SW and solve these problems (not that I want you to burn the city).
548 2/19/2019 11:38:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message Aha, forgot about Decatur, appreciate your pointing that out! You ARE making this difficult! :-)

AoCumb moves instead from Franklin to Columbia, then Decatur, the Steven...now your options??

Then if no intercept to Chattanooga

547 2/19/2019 11:03:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message I will not intercept at Tullahoma. Those moves would cost you 2 points each plus 1 each for conversion since Decatur is Southern controlled and so is Nashville. Do you want to modify this move?
546 2/18/2019 11:54:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #56: 1 / CSS Hunley
Place the CSS Hunley marker in any friendly port. Provides a +1 DRM to Confederate during next amphibious assault. Remove Hunley once modifier has been used. No more than one Hunley can be in play at a given time.

545 2/17/2019 6:38:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #70: 2 / Gustavus Fox, Ironclad Building Program
The Union Amphibious Assault modifier is increased by two.

Message from Confederate:
Use this to activate Albert S. Johnston and the AoM (4 SPs and generals Stuart, Bragg and Hardee).
1. Steven AL
2. Decatur
3. Tuscumbia
4. Corinth
5. Oxford where they pick up the 2 SPs there (n6)
6. Grand Jct.
544 2/17/2019 6:34:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message I will remove the 3 SPs for the emancipation proclamation as follows:
1 SP from Fayetteville, Ark, Price now with 1 SP
1 SP from Sabine, TX (now 0) (I probably won't get another SP here anyway with the blockade at 4)
1 SP from Weldon, NC (now 0)
543 2/16/2019 7:23:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Event #81: 3 / Emancipation Proclamation - Reshuffle/Remove
Either player must play this card as an EC on the Strategy Round immediately following a Union large or medium battle victory. Confederate loses 10 SW and 3 SPs (his choice). Union loses 5 SW. Flip GT marker to its Emancipation Proclamation side. Card must be the last one played by a player at which time it can be played as an OC card. If the play of this card as an OC results in a battle victory, there is no Emancipation Proclamation Remove from deck if event is played. If this card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at the end of the Strategy Phase.

Message from Union:
You did pay off the dice roller...geez a 6 to 2! Should have been the other way round ! :-)

Remove 3SPs from the South and down -10 from 52- to 42-.
Yanks take -5 from 66- to 61-
542 2/16/2019 9:42:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Lee, if I calculated correctly, is successful at Chattanooga and receives a 3* result against the Union AoM vs a "2" result. This was a medium battle with a total of 19 SPs. This forces a retreat (rout) and eliminates the Union Army of Missouri. Those 4 generals will re-enter the game next turn. There was no general casualties since both sides were out of supply. Confederate Army of Tennessee drops from 5 to 3 SPs at Chattanooga. Union Strategic Will drops from 79+ by 10 for the loss of the army and 3 more for the change down to 66- SW. Confederate SW stays at 52- but this would have been a rallying point for the South. Trains of Union prisoners would be heading South and much captured equipment would have been a boost to the Southern defenders. Still not all is rosy for the South. ASJohnston's Army of Mississippi is out of supply and with only 4 SPs is not looking forward to Grant's move.

Message from Confederate:
Battle of Chattanooga:
1st roll attacking Confederate Army of Tennessee under Lee with 5 SPs and +6 for Generals Lee, Morgan and APHill and +2 for defender out of supply for a net of +8.
2nd roll defending Union Army of Missouri under Reynolds with 14 SPs (not quite enough for 3-1 odds). No cavalry makes makes Reynolds combat rating at 0 and can add only one general but Thomas adds +3 to the defense. Also, the Confederates are out of supply at the instant of battle gives another +2 for a net of +5.
540 2/16/2019 9:21:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Battle at Stevens, Al:
Confederate Army of Tennessee with 6 SPs and +6 for Generals and +4 for 5-1+ odds +2 for defender out of supply = automatic roll of 10 and a 3* result.
Union 1 SP with no adds on the medium battle results in a 1 result.
Net outcome: Union 1 SP eliminated and Confederate Army of Tennessee is down to 5 SPs.
Lee being the bold general that he was will continue to Chattanooga with his last movement point and hit the Union AoM which is not a sure thing but the Union lack of cavalry gives him an advantage. Chattanooga is adjacent to a railhead at Missionary Ridge so this should take only 1 movement point which is all he has left which doesn't leave any to convert Stevens and makes both sides out of supply.

537 2/14/2019 11:38:00 PM Fall 1864 Confederate Message 2nd move of the minor campaign:
Activate Lee and the AoT at Grand Jct. He will take all 6 SPs and generals AP Hill and Ewell and Morgan and march:
1. Corinth
2. Tuscumbia
3. Decatur (if you have another 2 space interception card you can use it here)
4. convert Decatur
5. Steven and battle the 1 SP left there. Reynolds and the AoM could intercept if he rolls a 1.
If not, this battle should be automatic and Lee will continue.
I'll await your response to these desperate measures sir.
536 2/14/2019 10:07:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message This battle will trigger Emancipation Proclamation if the card is in our hands.
Now I need to figure out what to do with my 2nd action of this minor campaign.
535 2/14/2019 10:01:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message Battle at Chattanooga results in a 1 to 3* result. The Confederate force of 2 is eliminated. AoM drops to 14 SPs. Longstreet will return next turn.

Message from Confederate:
Longstreet marches into Chattanooga but finds that Reynolds and the AoM have intercepted him and his Nashville survivors. A medium battle ensues. Confederates are out of supply.
1st roll attacking Longstreet with 2 SPs and +2 for Longstreet.
Defending AoM with 15 SPs +2 for interception and +4 for odds and +6 for generals and +2 for opponent out of supply for a net of +12 give an automatic "10" roll. This will give a 3* result and eliminate the Confederate force of 2 with no need to roll.
However, the 2nd roll is for the possible kill of Confederate leader Longstreet since the Union will get a 10. He is killed on a roll of 1. Otherwise, he will re-enter next turn.
533 2/14/2019 2:26:00 AM Fall 1864 Union Message Yep, AoMoLand (n15)
532 2/11/2019 11:13:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Message No attack cards for me. Longstreet will have to get a lucky. I assume this interception is by the AoM.
531 2/10/2019 9:51:00 PM Fall 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Event #103: 3 / Seven Days/Chattanooga
Either player may move 2 SPs using Strategic Movement from the same space using rail connections only (10 space maximum) to the same space with a General who is then activated and must attempt to enter a space with at least one or more enemy SPs or fort. OR play this card as an automatic 2 space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during the intercept.

Message from Union:
Will use this card to intercept Longstreet when he moves into Chattanooga...

Any attack cards to play?
530 2/9/2019 10:12:00 AM Fall 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #121: 3 / Minor Campaign
Conduct up to two moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Confederate:
I apologize for the delay but this has been a puzzle.
I will start the Fall of 1864 in trying to get out of middle Tennessee with Longstreet.
Activate Longstreet in Murfreesboro. He will take the 2 SPs there and move:

4. Missionary Ridge
5. Dalton where he picks up Early
6. Missionary Ridge where he drops off Early
7. Dalton, GA where he ends up with 5 SPs and Wharton.
I'll await any reaction on your part before continuing.

516 1/30/2019 1:22:00 AM Summer 1864 Confederate Message Good move on your part putting my AoM and Longstreet OOS.
Only a couple of corrections:
That would be Kentucky and not Tennessee that converted to Union Control. Strategic Will calculations looked correct. Union now controls all border states.
Washington DC had 5 at the beginning of the turn but Halleck took 2 out for the Union AoT leaving 3 at WDC and with attrition it now drops to 2. See log 500 for that move.
I made some mistakes during this last turn and I didn't have a good hand. I hope I can recover and give you a better game.
