455 12/10/2018 1:17:00 AM Spring 1864 Confederate Message Grant wins at Grand Jct with a 3* to 2 result. Confederate AoT drops from 8 to 5 SPs and retreats to Corinth. AoC drops from 9 to 7 SPs and occupies Grand Jct but didn't have the 2-1 advantage to continue. Looks like a Union general dies. I'll let you roll to see which one comes up.

449 12/7/2018 2:47:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Event #84: 3 / Major Campaign
Conduct up to three moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Union:
1st part:
AoMoLand (n7) leaves 2SPs & Curtis in Somerset (AoMoLand n5) and moves to Lebanon, Bowling Green, Clarksville, Dover (p/u Schofield & 1SP - Dover n0 & AoMoLand n6), then attacks Longstreet at Franklin
448 12/7/2018 9:22:00 AM Spring 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #112: 2 / Severe Storms at Sea
Interrupt card, cancel a Naval movement initiated by a 3OC. This card cannot cancel a Naval movement initiated by an Event card (including a naval movement initiated by a campaign card event). Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
Whoops! I totally missed the port symbol at Paducah. My apologies. Yes, you had an extra movement point then to convert Memphis.
I will use this to activate Lee and the Army of Tennessee at Nashville, TN. He will leave 2 SPs in Nashville (n6 with AoT) and move:
1. Franklin and not pick up Longstreet and his 2 SPs there
2. Columbia
3. Decatur, Al
4. Waynesboro
5. Corinth
6. Grand Jct and pick up Ewell and his 2 SPs (now 8 in AoT)
Sorry it took me so long to do this move.
447 12/6/2018 9:53:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Message I don't think you had the movement left to convert Memphis. AoC started in Paducah which was adjacent to a rail LOC but not a rail LOC in itself (it does not have a port or a rail in it). I think moving to Columbus should have taken 2 movement points since Columbus at that time was Confederated controlled and thus not a Union controlled port and you didn't control any rail spaces or ports adjacent to Columbus. Then 1 point to convert Columbus, 1 point to move to Humboldt because you now controlled the port at Columbus, 1 point to convert Humboldt and 1 point to move to Memphis makes the 6 movement points. I'm trying to decide what to do next as I have several options and none of them look too great.
446 12/6/2018 5:28:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Message AoCumb finishes its move by converting Memphis back to Yankeedom
445 12/6/2018 10:03:00 AM Spring 1864 Confederate Message Union wins again at Memphis with a 2* to 1 result. Ewell's force goes from 4 to 2 and retreats to Grand Jct. AoC drops from 10 down to 9 SPs and ends it's move in Memphis. No general casualties.
Union SW increases by 1 for the fort and goes from 71+ to 72+. Confederate SW drops 1 and goes from 73- to 72-.

443 12/4/2018 3:34:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #49: 3 / CSS Alabama, Commerce Raider
Union SW reduced by two.

Message from Union:

442 12/4/2018 3:31:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Message Schofield remains in Dover.
441 12/3/2018 9:16:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #71: 3 / General Scott, The Anaconda Plan
The Union player may either increase the Blockade Level by one or increase the Amphibious Assault modifier by two.

Message from Confederate:
Use this to activate Ewell at Memphis. He takes 1 SP (leaving 1 in the fort) and moves:
Humboldt
Columbus and picks up the 1 SP there (n2)
Humboldt and picks up the 1 SP there (n3)

440 12/3/2018 9:13:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Message Did Schofield stay in Dover or did he join the AoC?
439 12/2/2018 10:27:00 PM Spring 1864 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #33: 1 / Orphan Brigade
Confederate immediately receives one SP in any friendly or neutral space (no LOC is required) in Kentucky that is free of Union SPs.

Message from Union:
AoCumb (n8) moves from Bowling Green to Clarksville (converts), then to Dover (converts & p/u 2SPs - Dover n1 & AoCumb n10), then moves to Paducah (OVERRUNs the SP there & converts.

Done!
438 12/2/2018 9:34:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Message Good catch! I had forgotten that a corp move could only move one additional general. Since that was a "2" card, I will modify the move by activating Longstreet and leave Van Dorn in the Army of Mississippi.
Use this to activate Longstreet at Knoxville in the AoM for a corp move. He will take 1 SP (leaves 5 SPs, A Johnston, Stuart and Bragg (2nd in command) and Van Dorn in the AoM) and move:
1. Cleveland and pick up APHill and the 2 SPs there (n3)
2. Dalton, GA and pick up the 2 SPs there (n5)
3. Missionary Ridge
4. Chattonooga
5. Tullahoma
6. Murfreesboro
7. Nashville where he drops off 4 SPs and APHill (n1 with Longstreet) (n8 with AoT)
8. Franklin, TN where he combines with the 1 SP there (n2).
This is almost the same end result except Van Dorn stays in the AoM.
437 12/2/2018 11:49:00 AM Spring 1864 Union Message VanDorn may only move 1 Gen with him in a Corps move...leave Longstreet with the AoMiss??
436 12/1/2018 10:46:00 PM Spring 1864 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #111: 2 / Wilsonís Raid
Union may place two Union PC markers in any spaces within four spaces (includes river connections) of a single Union cavalry brigade. The four space range CAN be traced through Northeast Alabama. These PC Markers (in contravention of rule 11.3D), CAN be placed in blockade runner ports/ and or resource spaces devoid of Confederate SPs or forts (but may contain an Ironclad or Torpedoes), resulting in their immediate destruction. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:

Confederate player receives 2 SP in any friendly controlled Texas space (both SPs placed in the same space). The space does not need a LOC. The space may not contain Union SPs or forts. If no eligible space exists the SPs are lost.

Message from Confederate:
I was hoping to use this as an event but I didn't take along enough strength from Mississippi with Jackson and now I don't have enough Umph! with those battle losses to convert and take on Halleck. Use this instead to activate Jackson and the Army of the West at Shreveport, La. He will leave 1 SP there (n2) and move all the rest to:
1. Monroe, La
2. Vicksburg and pick up 1 SP (leaves 1 SP in the fort) (AoW n3)
3. Monroe
4. Shreveport and pick up the 1 SP left behind (n4)
5 & 6. Marshall, TX and try to battle Halleck again.
Halleck can try and avoid battle.
I didn't have enough movement to convert Shreveport so I'm out of supply and Halleck gets a +2 again.
Battle would be a medium battle.
Confederates with 4 SPs and +4 for generals
Union with 2 SPs and +2 for Confederates out of supply.
403 11/22/2018 9:30:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #66: 1 / Wilson's Creek

394 11/15/2018 9:15:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Message I don't have the counters for the 2nd or 3rd edition of For the People and the GMT site will only show the first page of counters which doesn't cover
Kilpatrick or any of the other cavalry replacement counters of rule 5.55 Optional Cavalry General replacements. What are his ratings and where can I find them? I can make a counter if I know the ratings.

393 11/15/2018 12:39:00 AM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #27: 3 / Choctaw Indians
Confederate randomly removes one strategy card from the Union playerís hand, which is discarded.

Message from Union:
AoPot (n13) leaves 8SPs in Fredericksburg (n5), moves to Manassas, then to WDC (p/u 3SPs - AoPot n8 & WDC w Hooker), then to Frederick (p/u Little Mac & 2SPs - Frederick n0 & AoPot n10), then back to Manassas (drops Burnside - Manassas n3 w Burnman & AoPot n10), then moves to Fredericksburg (p/u 5SPs - Fredericksburg n3 & AoPot n15), then attack Hanover once more...

390 11/14/2018 10:47:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #16: 2 / Grierson's Raid
Union may place two Union PC markers in any spaces within four spaces (includes river connections) of a single Union cavalry brigade. The four space range cannot be traced through Northeast Alabama and may not contain a Confederate SP or Fort, but may contain an Ironclad or Torpedoes.

Message from Confederate:
Use this to activate Lee and the AoT at Bowling Green, Ky. He takes all 1 SP and moves:
1. Nashville and picks up the 2 SPs there (now 3)
2. Clarksville
3. Dover and picks up 1 SP (leaving 1 SP in the fort) (AoT n4)
4. Paducah and picks up the 1 SP there (n5)
5. Dover (leaves the 1 SP there)
6. Clarksville ending with 5 SPs.
389 11/14/2018 10:44:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Message Reynolds is killed in the Fall of 1863. In the real war he actually died at Gettysburg in the summer of 1863.

Message from Confederate:
That was the bloodiest battle of the game. The Union Army of the Cumberland gets a 6 result as the attacker and drops from 15 to 9 SPs and retreats back to Lebanon. The Confederate Army of Tennessee is bled to a thin line with a 5* result and drops from 6 to only 1 SP but holds at Bowling Green. Union Strategic will loses 5 for losing a large battle and drops from 97- to 92-. Confederate SW increases from 75+ to 78+. Confederates get lucky on not losing a general but the Union is not so lucky. This roll is to determine the Union general lost.

3rd Battle at Bowling Green, Ky: Large battle

4rh roll for possible Confederate general casualty if a 10 result happens
386 11/14/2018 12:56:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Message Lee intercepts but I don't have time to finish my part. I'll complete tonight.

Message from Confederate:
After thinking about it I see the logic of your counting. Somerset is adjacent to a rail LOC so the movement to it only counts as 1 movement point.
Lee and the AoT will attempt to intercept at Bowling Green, Ky. Need 1-5 for success.
384 11/13/2018 2:35:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Message I calc:
1MP from Clinton to Somerset
1MP from Somerset to Lexington
1MP from Lexington to Somerset
2MPs from Somerset to Clinton

Not enuf to go to Knoxville...so re-do!

1st Part:
AoMoLand (n5) moves from Lebanon to Somerset

2nd Part:
AoCumb (n10) from Clinton to Lexington (p/u 5SPs - n15), then back thru Somerset, to Lebanon, then to Bowling Green...your options.
383 11/12/2018 9:47:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Message Since Clinton is not a rail head for you (yet) it would take 2 movement points for the army to move to Somerset, 1 movement point to move to Lexington, 1 movement point back to Somerset and then 2 more to move back to Clinton. You wouldn't have the 2 extra to move to Knoxville this turn. Do you want to do something different?
382 11/12/2018 8:16:00 PM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Event #88: 3 / Minor Campaign
Conduct up to two moves or conduct one special army-size naval move. No SP, general, or army marker may be moved twice with the same campaign card. You must move a different force each move.

Message from Union:
1st part:
AoCumb (n10) leaves 1SP in Clinton, marches to Lexington (p/u 5SPs - Lex n0 & AoCumb n14), then back to Clinton (drops 1 - Clinton n2 & AoCumb n13), then attacks Knoxville...
381 11/12/2018 7:24:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #21: 3 / Confederate Overseas Agent
Confederate immediately receives three SPs in any open Blockade Runner Port, no more than one SP per port, but more than one SP per Blockade Zone is permitted. If insufficient ports are available, the excess SPs are lost.

Message from Confederate:
Play this as an event and bring in some more SPs.
1 SP Norfolk, VA
1 SP Charlestown, SC (n2)
1 SP Mobile, Al (n2)
380 11/12/2018 12:30:00 AM Fall 1863 Union Play Strategy card as Event #40: 3 / Emergency Call for Volunteers
Union receives five SPs, no more than two SPs in any space. Placement spaces must be friendly controlled, have a LOC and be free of Confederate SPs or forts.

Message from Union:
2SPs to AoPot - n13
1SP to Manassas - n3
2SPs to AoCumb - n10
379 11/11/2018 10:36:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #57: 2 / Admiral Foote
Union may make a naval move with up to three SPs plus one general. If an amphibious assault occurs, you receive an additional +2 DRM. Add +2DRM to any Running the Guns die roll.

Message from Confederate:
Use this to activate Beauregard at Hannover for a corp move. Polk is also P5 and is 2nd in command so I think this is legal.
1. Williamsburg
2. Fort Monroe and pick up 1 SP and Pemberton leaving 1 SP in the fort.
3. Williamsburg and pick up 1 SP (n2) leaving 1 SP in Williamsburg.
4. Richmond
5. Petersburg and pick up 2 SPs (n4)
6. Richmond
7. Hanover. AoNVa now back to 6 SPs with Joe Johnston, Forrest, Polk, Beauregard and Pemberton
378 11/11/2018 10:23:00 PM Fall 1863 Confederate Message Good roll on your part but the Union still loses with a 4* to 5 result. Union AoP drops from 15 to 10 SPs and retreats back to Fredericksburg picking up the 1 SP there (n11). AoNVa drops from 6 to 2 SPs. No general casualties on either side. Union Strategic Will drops 5 from 102- to 97-. Confederate SW increases 3 and 2 more for the change from - to + and goes from 70- to 75+.
