278 8/9/2018 9:46:00 PM Master ID = 2655 Game Deleted
277 8/9/2018 9:46:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message I can not remember when I last won a FTF game of POG.
276 8/9/2018 9:38:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Please delete this game in the meantime.
275 8/9/2018 9:37:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message I doubt I could ever take a player as good as you to the wood shed...well, maybe a LITTLE in Twilight Struggle (just kidding).

If you really are unsure of your ability, maybe I can put forth a few tips along the way. I am not an elite player myself (still trying to crack the second half of the game - I have the first half down good), but I have learned a lot from Tom Gregorio and other games, so I can pass that on to you!

I will set her up in a bit.

274 8/9/2018 9:33:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message I am not a very good player especially the CP but, I can only get better. You choose, revenge in FTP or take me to the wood shed in POG?
273 8/9/2018 9:26:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message You're tempting me now. I feel VERY confident at POG these days. If you want to do that, that's fine. I would like AP with no bid, historical (WBC) variant.

Sound good?
272 8/9/2018 9:24:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message any Cav General stacked with only 1 other SP is a tempting target for the USA medium battle kill on a 3-6.
271 8/9/2018 9:22:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Yes your SP situation, position and lack of Cav , escpecially Forrest is a big blow , but you may want to wait and see your next hand that you get with Jackson and Longstreet.
270 8/9/2018 9:20:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message sure or we could do a little POG
269 8/9/2018 9:18:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message OK, I know I said I'd finish to the end, but you can understand where I'd have a change of heart.

Having 3 cav displaced at once is devastating. I can hang around a bit, but offensive capabilities for the South are limited since you have cut me to 8 SPs per turn from states. Since FtP encourages offensive moves from the CSA, I concede.

Would like to start another, switch sides?

Either player may move up to two infantry SPs from the same space as if they were led by a General. This move is a Corps move and may enter enemy controlled spaces because the SPs are moving as if they are led by a general.

Pick an enemy army with two or more subordinate generals (includes Cavalry Generals) and randomly determine a target general. On a die roll of 1-3 the chosen general is killed and removed from play. On a die roll of 4-6 the general is wounded and removed from play, but re-enters during the reinforcement phase of the next game turn.

259 8/9/2018 6:58:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message On the way to Drewry's Bluff, he enters Butler's space and removes him to the Turn track (unless there is a battle, which I don't think there is since Fort Monroe is connected by land).
258 8/9/2018 6:50:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #66: 1 / Wilson's Creek
Either player may move up to two infantry SPs from the same space as if they were led by a General. This move is a Corps move and may enter enemy controlled spaces because the SPs are moving as if they are led by a general.

AoW under Lee in Richmond (6 SP)

You still have a lot of troops...
255 8/9/2018 6:33:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Agreed - but again, if I had just taken Baltimore...
254 8/9/2018 6:28:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message We both played a little dangerously, I sometimes (always) play an aggressive Union and it probably isn't the best idea. What I was trying to do was created a situation like a bridge too far, just too much Union stuff between you and you objectives. But I needed one more card play to have it finished when Stoneman shows up.
253 8/9/2018 6:24:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message too bad the were Forrest and Morgan
252 8/9/2018 6:18:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Your play,
251 8/9/2018 6:17:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message The dice gods have hear my cries and made the world right! Especially that last roll of 4-1
250 8/9/2018 11:18:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Meant to say two more cav
249 8/9/2018 11:18:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Not the end of the world, as I have Lee in play and you lost some sps too...but losing two more can for 3 turns and the current SW is not encouraging.

Again, I should have gone for Baltimore. That was an expensive learning experience.

PS - no more complaining of dice. That's 3 or so rolls in a row where the dice have kissed you. :-)
248 8/9/2018 11:12:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message That was somewhat of a disaster for the Rebs! Could have turned out the other way.

Union immediately adds three SPs due to improved sanitary conditions. Place in any space (friendly controlled or not) that already contains a Union SP and has a LOC, no more than one per space.

236 8/8/2018 9:51:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Yes, I already corrected myself. DC has 8 SP after the battle.

235 8/8/2018 9:50:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message WDC was 10SP n 8?
234 8/8/2018 9:47:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message No, when I corrected my move I typed Lee instead of ANV. Moving Lee like that wouldn't make sense.
233 8/8/2018 9:47:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message I was thinking that Lee moved with 4 SP from Richmond?
232 8/8/2018 9:47:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Sometimes there is a long delay in ACTS e-mails. They might also be going to your SPAM folder.

I have been in the habit of not waiting for emails and just logging in and refreshing the log.

231 8/8/2018 9:46:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message for some reason I am not getting ACTS moves from your play?

216 8/8/2018 10:20:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Been a while since I chewed on a move as much as I did when I went to bed last night. Frustrating...if I had won at Baltimore I could have taken Annapolis, gotten a raid in, denied you 5 sps this turn and maybe taken Washington this turn.

This is like riding a bike for me...but the bike needs new tires.
215 8/7/2018 10:28:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message He failed in his mission to tie you in combat and thus stop you even if wiped out.

Correction on combat results you only lose 2 SP in combat because I only had 1 SP defender but results end up the same because the extra SP would have attritioned away.
214 8/7/2018 10:18:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message That's all from me tonight. Will get my SR, etc to you tomorrow.

208 8/7/2018 10:14:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Fair enough. In any case this game has shaken most of my rust. I did manage to see the potential of the Concentration Card - I was hoping I passed the interception in KY though, to give double threats at the start of Turn 4!

198 8/7/2018 10:02:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Still a bone-headed move. I forgot about ties in capitals. I should have went for Baltimore. I forgot a rule and went from coming close to a win to being in an awkward position. Fortunately, you have things to consider as well.
197 8/7/2018 10:01:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message hey you had some good luck and some good play, you needed me to roll a 1 to win that.
196 8/7/2018 10:00:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Right, because it is a capital, sorry. Should have went for Baltimore...

OK, ANV is n2 in Frederick.
195 8/7/2018 10:00:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message A DR of 2 gets me to the 3 loss column and you lose, Baltimore would have been my target, but the allure of WDC is strong.
194 8/7/2018 9:59:00 PM Fall 1861 Union Message Correct except there is no 3* in WDC All I needed to win was a 2
193 8/7/2018 9:58:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message Please stop and read messages.
