251 9/11/2018 8:24:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Thanks. What you are seeing are the offensive options open to the CSA. These are designed to never allow the US to put its attrition strategy into action. Much of FtP is dictating the flow of the game. You must create enough of a threat to make the other player react to you.

At the beginning of the turn, I saw that I could take Springfield and get two raids. Then I did the math and realized that I could do this and win, even if you took Richmond, destroyed ANV, and took VA. That is why I ignored your moves--they were not threatening enough to stop me from doing what I wanted to do. I must confess, I was kind of astonished that you were able to do it--getting a campaign and *three* 3 OP cards is a pretty incredible hand for the Union. You even wasted a blockade card! If you had used that to bring Pope or Burnside over West, you might have lasted another turn. When you played that blockade event is when I realized that you would not react to Lee until it was too late.

But this comes back to my original point, which is learning to appreciate the threats that the South can present. The concentration card on T1 is a good example. You seem to be operating under the assumption that this was some kind of rare event or bad luck. But remember, I *knew* I had that card, and I created every move of my turn around using it the way I did. All you needed were 4 SPs in Harpers and you were fine. When I play the Union, I play every turn under the assumption that the CSA is holding a concentration card and/or a campaign card.

I hope this is helpful to you. I'm happy to play another on either side. Go ahead and set it up when you are ready.
250 9/11/2018 7:11:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message all is correct.

Congratualtions to your victory.

I should have moved the army westward as you said. Generally I played still way too offensive. The first round march on Manassas was such an action. But I consider it still a good move, since without concentration card it would have worked. Anyway the risk was too high. Finally I managed to build a defense in the east...
But just sit around in my forts I would not also, I think this where moves in the west or the naval part of the game comes in.
I enjoyed the game, if you did it tto, we can continue this, switching sides this time.
