Confederates win the battle, losing one SP while the Union loses three SPs.

There is a chance for a General Casualty. 1-3 for the Confederates, only on a 1 for the Union. (Note you need a 3-1 ratio or higher to become ineligible for a General Casualty.)

Message from Confederate:
Medium Battle (10 vs 5). +1drm Union (+1 leader) vs +8drm Confederates (+4 leaders, +2 fort, +2 interception).

Union
Confederates

==================

Clarifications on the above DRMs:

The Union's commanding general's battle rating was reduced by 2 (down to 0) due to no Cavalry Brigade present (rule 7.52). And because the Union commanding general has a battle rating less than the Confederate commanding generalís battle rating (after the effects of 7.52 Cavalry Intelligence have been taken into account for both sides), the Union Armyís DRM is equal to the sum of the Union commanding generalís battle rating plus one subordinate general battle rating (rule 7.42-B). Hence, McDowell (0 rating) + Pope (+1 rating) = +1drm.
111 11/27/2018 7:46:00 AM Fall 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Event #8: 1 / 3 Cigars
Play this card to make an automatic one or two space interception. Intervening space must be friendly controlled and free of enemy SPs. The intervening space may be the one just exited by the moving enemy force. No Generals or SPs may be picked up or dropped off during intercept.

Message from Confederate:
The Confederates play this card to make a two space interception in Hanover from Fort Monroe. The AoNV leaves 1 SP behind in the fort and we do NOT use the Elite Brigade in the battle.
110 11/27/2018 4:25:00 AM Fall 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #130: 3 / Union Siege Guns
Union plays card at beginning of a battle (or Amphibious Assault) that has a Confederate fort present and cancels Confederate fort die roll modifier in the battle. Remove from deck if event is played. Draw a strategy card.

108 11/26/2018 12:08:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message And since this will be your final card of the turn coming up, I just wanted to remind you that you might want to get your forces below the attrition levels where feasible (e.g., 3-6 SPs lose 1 SP, 7+ SPs lose 2 SPs).
107 11/26/2018 12:05:00 PM Fall 1861 Confederate Message 2* (8=3+5) Confederates
1 (5=3+2) Union

Union loses 2 SPs while the Confederates lose 1 SP. The Confederates win the battle and the Union is forced to retreat.

"A naval retreat is from the occupied port space to a Union controlled port, with an LOC, in an original Union state." In other words, your surviving force can retreat to any port in NJ, PA, DE, MD, or DC (specifically, any one of the following ports: Atlantic City NJ, Philadelphia PA, Wilmington DE, Dover DE, Baltimore MD, Annapolis MD, or Washington DC).

It is the Union's turn after you finish retreating.

Roll away
77 11/13/2018 9:49:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Note that taking the Fort doesn't cause the Port to automatically change to Union. Whereas placing a PC marker on the Port DOES cause the associated Fort to automatically change to Union if it is not garrisoned.

However I should also note that if you successfully "Run the Guns" and land troops in Port Savannah, you still have to place a Union PC marker there before the Fort converts to Union control. And it is important to note that your units would NOT have a valid LOC with the Fort still in Confederate hands.

76 11/13/2018 8:27:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message Are you invading Fort Pulaski or Port Savannah? The fort requires a battle whereas the port requires you to "Run The Guns".
75 11/13/2018 4:22:00 AM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Event #96: 2 / Strategy Board
Union player may make a naval move with up to three SPs plus one general.

Message from Union:
Pope plus 3 units attempt to amphibiously invade
Savannah.
If Iíve read and interpreted the rule correctly the Union will
have a plus 3 DRM for the battle.

Either player may remove or demote from army command one general for no SW penalty. Penalties for promoting a general with a lower political value still apply. OR remove ANY non-commanding general (even second in commands) from the game.

Message from Confederate:
We build a fort in Nashville
73 11/11/2018 3:30:00 PM Summer 1861 Confederate Message So just to make sure I understand your move, you simply want to take 1 SP apiece from Frederick and Harpers Ferry and put them in Strasburg and Culpeper (such that Frederick and Harpers Ferry both go from 2 units down to 1 and both Strasburg and Culpeper go from 1 unit up to 2 units, correct?
72 11/11/2018 1:24:00 PM Summer 1861 Union Play Strategy card as Operations #39: 2 / Draft Riots in New York
The Union must remove three SPs (Union chooses). If possible the SPs must come from Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, or Washington DC.

Message from Union:
Hopefully you can understand this move
Burnside is activates and takes 1 unit and moves in a big circle....
He goes north and then west to Harpers Ferry
Picks up both units
Heads South down the valley
Drops off a unit in Strasburg and Culpepper ????
And then goes back to Manassas
Made move off phone
Hope it makes sense
So there are 2 units in 2 different spots and
4 units in Manassas again
0 units in Harpers Ferry
Whole point of move was to make the 1 unit stacks
2 unit stacks
Please confirm when you
get a chance
Thanks
71 11/11/2018 10:38:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #113: 2 / Washington Defenses
The Union player may place 3 forts in friendly controlled spaces, unoccupied by Confederate SPs, on or within two spaces of the Union Capital (any location) OR 2 forts in any friendly controlled spaces unoccupied by Confederate SPs. Remove from deck if event is played.

Message from Confederate:
We form the Army of North Virginia in Hanover
70 11/11/2018 10:03:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message When Fort Columbus fell earlier in the move, the Union gained 1 SW plus another 2 SW for changing fortunes from 100- SW up to 103+ SW, and the Confederates lost 1 SW point and another 3 SW for changing fortunes from 100+ SW down to 96- SW.
69 11/11/2018 10:00:00 AM Summer 1861 Confederate Message 1 (5=2+3) Union
1 (3=1+2) Confederates

We both lose one unit. Confederates win, but are eliminated. Because the winner was eliminated but had a general present, the Union takes the space and their movement ends.
