159 11/15/2018 10:31:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Japanese Message Sure I am up for another. Go ahead and set it up. My wife and I are skipping town tomorrow morning for our anniversary but I will be back on Sunday. I should be able to do my ENM tomorrow morning.
158 11/15/2018 10:24:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Allies Message No worries Dave. I have a very good chance to press this one to victory, so no need for us to anguish on it... :-)

Want to flip sides and start another?
157 11/15/2018 7:20:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Japanese Message Looking at the map in more detail there is no way the Japanese have a shot in this game. I can fight on for practice but it's over. If the Japanese don't take the DEI by the end of turn 3 they are history. Everything was aligned against me from the start. It is one of those outlier games, happens to both sides, where no matter what they do they lose. You made the proper plays and had great cards. It's the nature of card driven games. Shit happens

Let me know if you want to keep going. I don't want to sound like a quitter but at this point all I can do is retreat all my units out of the DEI and Malaya/Rangoon ect before they get cut off completely.

156 11/14/2018 11:02:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Allies Message I concur Dave... I have had dang good card luck so far. You were only 1 pip or OP point away from DEI surrender, and it always gets harder the more turns it does not fall.

Way to hang in there. Thanks for suggesting this, as I think it will really help me for the tourney.

best,
Mark
155 11/14/2018 9:58:00 PM Sep-Dec 1942 Japanese Message The Japanese are in terrible shape. LOL Terrible cards on turn 2 and no better on 3. NO WIE cards to slow down the allies reinforcements. Not being able to take DEI on turn 2 when I missed that 80% shot as I only had one true MIL Event card.

I figure you were going to slaughter me with a surprise care but a clean sweep. I will play on but it is looking grim. Good thing I got this luck out of my system before the tourney.

Up to 21 players signed up.

Heading to bed early. Fighting a cold. R&R tomorrow

125 11/3/2018 4:32:00 PM May-Aug 1942 Japanese Play Strategy card as Operations #35: 3 / Operation KE: Guadalcanal Evacuation
Choose a Japanese occupied coastal hex. Up to 3 Japanese ground units in the chose hex and all adjacent hexes (that do not have to be coastal hexes) may conduct strategic naval movement (with no amphibious shipping points required) from these hexes to any single friendly port hex. No battles may be initiated. The move is unaffected by Allied air ZOI, however all other conditions for a strategic naval move apply.

In general, if the Allied Player can hold off on the offensives until later card plays it *could* help pull some of the Reaction cards out of the Japanese hand for OPS instead of card draws... :-) I needed to remember that! :-}

86 10/28/2018 11:05:00 PM May-Aug 1942 Japanese Play Strategy card as Event #59: 3 / Central Force: Conquest of Borneo
Activation: South or South Seas HQs only. Logistic Value: 5 Paratroopers: Prior to movement place a Japanese control marker in a hex that is within extended range of an active Japanese air unit if (1) the hex is either unoccupied or is occupied solely by a Dutch regiment; and (2) the hex is not within an unneutralized Allied air ZOI. Eliminate the Dutch regiment.

4) 25AF at Kure to 2812 to support BH

5) Yamato at Kure to Manila to support BH

82 10/28/2018 10:36:00 PM May-Aug 1942 Allies Message Yeah, it is a big momentum absorption by Allies to get both T2 and T3 forces in. Makes the expansion of the perimeter, or other goals much harder.
81 10/28/2018 10:34:00 PM May-Aug 1942 Allies Message On the 3NZ, absolutely right! I am the rusty one...

I'll swap the 3NZ to PM, and US 11 XXX to Gili Gili joining the [US XIV] please.
80 10/28/2018 8:46:00 PM May-Aug 1942 Japanese Message It has been a long time since I have seen the board when the Japanese get the shaft and allies get their turn 2 and 3 reinforcements. It's not a pretty picture especially after the crap hand I got last turn and not being able to take the DEI. I understand the saying "Trying to fight with one hand tied behind your back" LOL This has the looking of a route. Better now than in the tourney :)

74 10/28/2018 8:07:00 PM May-Aug 1942 Japanese Message 3NZ at Kendari. Wouldn't if have to be placed on the ANZAC HQ since that is the supplying HQ and it came on the board this turn. Plus it is placed beyond the activation range of ANZAC which is 10 hexes. Am I rusty or ??
73 10/28/2018 7:58:00 PM May-Aug 1942 Japanese Message Yup; I think the Japanese are pretty much screwed at this point for a PW victory.

WiE for event.

I think I will always choose the 5 random over the ABDA just to get this chance.
67 10/28/2018 2:24:00 PM Jan-Apr 1942 Japanese Message I had a pretty crappy hand Mark. I knew it was going to come down to one of those. I had an 80% chance of that going thought but my luck ran out. I had been very smooth until then. I only had 1 unlimited military operation card and that last one being a limited mil card. The rest were crap and no draws.

No taking of the DEI and if you have a WIE card the Japanese are in deep trouble right off the bat.
