Play prior to one battle of the Offensive that is within 11 hexes of Tokyo (3706) and within extended range of a Japanese air unit. The Japanese player eliminates two Allied naval steps (Japanese player's choice, may not eliminate a unit unless there is no other option), while reducing the Japanese air unit whose range was used one step (even if this would eliminate the air unit). No more than one Kamikaze per battle, but more than one Kamikaze per offensive is allowed. Draw One Strategy Card. Remove from play if used as an event.

230 12/24/2018 9:08:00 PM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message Have a merry Christmas Mark.

I have been zooming along in my tourney game and have put this on the side burner. It has been a very strange game card wise. I didn't get the quick PW victory and have now started the entrenching process in the last turn of 1943. I have a good base of air and naval units but 1944 is an ugly shooting gallery if you are the Japanese. It is will likely come down to how many big event cards he can draw and if I draw Tojo in 1944 does he draw Manchuria behind it.

I'll get a move out for our game tomorrow.

How is your game going?

209 12/16/2018 10:37:00 AM Jan-Apr 1943 Allies Message It has been a wild one with lots of attriton on both sides. At the end of the second turn, turn 3, I as the Japanese have PW down to 4 which Malaya and the 3rd turn of Alaska happening next turn so really at 2. I wipe all his CV's of the board during turn 3 and was a whisker away from getting another point for all US naval units. If I had gotten a 1/2X versus a 1/4X in a battle I would have done it. He does get two sets of Reinforcements next turn as I have not drawn a WIE card and he did last turn. He should be able to make POW the next couple of turns but he is pretty new as was evidenced by attacking with the US fleet in Turn 3 where I hit him for 111 points of damage. If I can draw Tojo in the next 3 turns I could have an early win but I am still looking good even if it goes to the long game.
