177 1/23/2019 1:24:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message Thank you, Andre. It was an enjoyable game from this side. I have not played it in years and I need to refresh my memory a bit on strategy and tactics.

You did a good job of protecting Washington DC, but I find that the USA must also reduce the number of CSA SPs and reinforcements. With their wealth of good leaders the CSA can run rings around the USA forces if they have enough SPs.

The CSA Major Campaign to gain control of Kentucky and Missouri to secure that additional SP each turn and the fact that the USA was not able to take either Texas or Florida out of the war in 1861 created many problems for the USA in 1862.
Good luck in the future!

176 1/23/2019 12:40:00 PM Summer 1862 Union Message Congratulation Tom, well played!!

I think I should go more in the offense!

I enjoyed our game and wish you all the best for your next games.

174 1/22/2019 5:41:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Play Strategy card as Operations #3: 1 / Forward to Richmond
Union may activate any Union army within 4 spaces of Richmond, VA. The army must enter Richmond or move as close to Richmond as possible, but may convert spaces to maintain an LOC. All SPs associated with the army must be moved (no dropping off SPs), except 1 SP may be left if the Army began its movement from a fort (if last SP, move completed). If played by the Confederate, he draws a card from the Union hand which is discarded, and the Union player follows the instructions of this card as his next card play.

Either player can play this card as an EC when Confederate SW is 110+. If this is the last card in a players hand or the second to last and the player holds the Emancipation Proclamation, if the condition is met, it must be played as an EC, if not it can be played as an OC. EFFECTS: 1. Union Blockade reduced by one (cannot become greater than 4 for the remainder of the game). 2. Union -2 SP Reinforcements for the remainder of the game (Union choice). 3. Union SW reduced by 10. Remove from deck if event is played. If card is played as an OC or discarded re-shuffle deck at end of the Strategy Phase.

153 1/13/2019 10:13:00 PM Summer 1862 Confederate Message This is the first time I have seen someone use that card for a riverine move to run the guns of a fort. Well done! The action is properly executed.

However, I have Halleck with Rosecrans and 3SP in Paducah. Rosecrans can only take 2SP with him for the move as he must leave 1SP with Halleck.

Where do you have Halleck? Entry #27 shows that he entered as a reinforcement at Paducah and there is no record of him ever leaving.

Ignore first torpedo encountered during naval move. If the port space is captured it immediately receives a Union PC marker. Add +2 to Running the Guns die roll.
