Thanks John, We will see, POG, Hannibal, etc. I have a good feel for. This one seems a bit to one sided/random as it were. Figured I'd give it a try, not sure how impressed I am at the moment. Good luck going forward!!! :-) |

Hey Jeff, Enjoyed the game. Hope you don't give up on it yet. I think if you played another game or two you'd catch on pretty quickly. I haven't played that much either and certainly have a lot to learn but feel I have a pretty good handle on things now. Take care and hope to see you around the battle field sometime again. -John |

Hi John, I think I might as well just surrender my sword here. Obviously I don't have a clue on this game, looks like the Mississippi river has fallen, nothing in place to stop Pope and not that much in the way of troops defending Richmond. Think this game is going back on the shelf. Congratulations, sorry I couldn't make it more interesting for you! Regards, Jeff |

#71: 3 / General Scott, The Anaconda Plan The Union player may either increase the Blockade Level by one or increase the Amphibious Assault modifier by two. Message from Union: Yes, I missed that part about leaving only 1 SP so the AOP would have advanced with 7 instead of 6. No matter as they ended right back in D.C. after getting crushed by the ANV! I show the AOP now with 5 SP and the ANV with 3 SP - is that right? By the way, if you keep getting all of the extra SP, I'm going to end up being in trouble - that's 6 SP in the last couple of cards! #3: 1 / Forward to Richmond Union may activate any Union army within 4 spaces of Richmond, VA. The army must enter Richmond or move as close to Richmond as possible, but may convert spaces to maintain an LOC. All SPs associated with the army must be moved (no dropping off SPs), except 1 SP may be left if the Army began its movement from a fort (if last SP, move completed). If played by the Confederate, he draws a card from the Union hand which is discarded, and the Union player follows the instructions of this card as his next card play. Message from Union: We missed it earlier but Fort Monroe blocks CSA entry into Norfolk - just choose another BR port to enter that one. Activate the AOP - has to move towards Richmond via shortest path so I think I have to attack directly into Manassas: Moves with 6 SP (leave 2 in D.C.) MP 1: To Manassas You have a retreat option but doubt you'll do that. I have a DRM of +2 and you have +2 as well. You could also use the Stonewall Brigade for a +3 but it will be lost if I manage to remove 2 or more SP. Go ahead and roll - I cannot move any further even if I win the battle. |

#7: 1 / Mud March Interrupt enemy force currently moving to no more than one space of movement. (Converting a space counts as movement.) Applies to only one move during a Major or Minor campaign card, but not a special army-naval move. Message from Union: Well, that attack on Memphis went bad - well, I don't really like the idea of you having 4 cards left to my 2 but I want to keep your Arkansas units on the other side of the Mississippi. On the leader dice, I used 999 sided dice instead of 6-sided one to lessen the chance for duplicates. Some use 99 sided which mostly likely would avoid duplicates but I go for bigger ones when rolling for 7 leaders. the 999 or 99 is just an option when you submit the roll. |

Jeff, Just to make sure I got your Strat moves correct since some of it did not show up in the journal: You moved 4 SP as follows: Marion -> Manassas (n3) Charleston -> Manassas (n4) Cedar Key -> Manassas (n5) Mobile -> Nashville (n3) I was able to read from my email so pretty sure that is correct. You have quite a few SP tied up in the forts which will make it tough for any Union sea incursions. |

EP revised ruling: The Emancipation Proclamation event requires that the Union wins a medium or large battle. Two exceptions are overruns (5.72) and Army Amphibious Assault (6.15). The Design Note under 5.72 is in the context of overrun only, where any size force overrunning a fort would trigger EP. * An amphibious assault on an ungarrisoned fort will not trigger EP except in the rare case where an Union Army wins the AA and 6 SP are involved. ** An ungarrisoned coastal fort has 0 SP. If you were to capture it in a Small battle, this would NOT trigger EP. |
