I conduct an overrun at Bowling Green unless A. Johnson attempts and succeeds in an intercept roll. Here is where I got the idea about emancipation being triggered. 5.72 OVERRUNS: If the force ratio is 10-1 or greater and no fort is present, then there is no battle, although retreat before battle is allowed. Instead, the smaller force is eliminated and the larger force may continue moving. If the moving force has a force ratio of 10-1 or greater, but a fort is present, then a battle is conducted. If a space is occupied solely by an ungarrisoned fort (coastal or counter), then there is no battle, the non-coastal fort counter is removed, and the moving force can continue its movement. An overrun triggers Emancipation including the capture or removal of an ungarrisoned fort, which in all cases regardless of the size of the overrunning force is considered a medium battle for this situation. What do you think about emancipation taked about in this over run rule. You need to tell me if A. Johnson is attempting intercept? |

Battle drm’s The OOS drm is a +2 not a -2 The attackers die roll is matched to the defenders column and is the defenders result The defenders die roll is matched to the attackers column and is the attackers result It’s the custom to list the sides in the same order as the die roll. So if you are taking the top roll then the union should be listed on top. Helps to eliminate any confusion. Medium Battle (7 SP) +6 US (+4 ratio) (+2 CS OOS) die roll was 3 +6 = 9 = 2* +5 CS (+1 Johnston) (+2 fort) (+2 US OOS) die roll was 4 +5 = 9 = 3 7.32 the side that takes the most losses on the CRT loses the battle. Result I lose 2 on the CRT (eliminated - Johnston to turn track) You lose 3 on the CRT retreat to Frankfort with 3 SPs I’ll adjust the board |

You are really into gaming that you have time to surf the game websites. When and where did you run across the rule about the attacking across the rivers and is this an approve GMT rule change? I do not mind playing with this PDF rule but would have been nice to know before game started. It makes since why you moved and exposed your CSA force out on a limb in Louisville and the strange placement of PC markers in KY. You had prior knowledge of a rule I did not have. I would have placed a PC marker in Frankfurt Ky instead of Bowling Green so I would not be attacking out of Supply. I have to check if I have supply if I have 1sp in Falmouth to establish a LOC. I'm sure this new rule twist was not a deliberate oversight but sure put a twist in my plans. Second I would have concentrated forces in Cincinnati instead of Bloomington as alternative campaign. I would still activate the Burnside/Pope team with 6sp but move to Vernon-Cincinnati-Falmouth-Lexington- Frankfurt to attack Lousiville. Not sure of supplies and have to check. Do you attempt evasion? |
