169 1/27/2019 5:59:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message Hi Ken,
If you agree it's up to you after my last activation (message 156). Like James wrote: Price is not killed and then he's now on the turn track
168 1/26/2019 10:43:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message James,

Thanks, I definitely misread the cav rule on SP. I agree that I only had 2 SP then.

Ken
167 1/26/2019 10:20:00 PM Spring 1862 Moderator Message Ken, I think you need to drop by my FTP event at WBC... a quick tutorial will help immensely with your understanding and grasp of the various rules...

for example, the procedure is interception roll first, then the avoid battle roll if needed... not the other way around... only one interception roll is allowed per card play (exception is Campaign card), but you are allow as many avoid battle rolls as needed.
166 1/26/2019 10:14:00 PM Spring 1862 Moderator Message Forrest cav brigade is a special case in that you're allowed to build up to 2 SP ... so is Sheridan if you convert him to a cav leader... in both cases, you must announce that you are building the cav leader to 2 SP when there are 2 SP available... Rule 5.67.
165 1/26/2019 10:05:00 PM Spring 1862 Moderator Message also, when it comes to Union naval control, think of it as hydraulic pressure coming down from the North map edge and coming up from the Gulf/ sea... if there is nothing stopping the pressure, the water will continue to flow down the rivers and coming up from the Gulf...

for example, if you put a plug (in game terms, a fort or ironclad) in New Orleans, the water pressure from the Gulf is stopped... if you also put a plug in Memphis, the water pressure from the North is stopped at that point... so now, there is no pressure between those 2 points ... so the CSA can now safely cross between Union is now DUNC...

the game starts off with CSA forts in Columbus KY and Ft P-J, which DUNC between thsoe 2 points, allowing CSA to cross the Mississ R... the CSA fort in Dover TN is a plug that DUNC of the Tenn and Cumberland Rivers... you can see that by looking carefully at the map...
164 1/26/2019 9:53:00 PM Spring 1862 Moderator Message several things...
1. hard for me to visualize and back track the game w/o map, but Jean Louis is correct.... his summary on post #158 correctly shows that AONV is at 2 sp only.

2. what I think Ken is not grasping is that when a cav leader is placed on board, he comes alone by himself... there is no "free" SP attached ... which is why when you place cav leader reinforcement on map, you place in a location with at least 1 SP so as to show that the cav leader is now mated to its cav brigade... see Rule 10.64.

3. in post #134, Price should not be killed from the AOP/AONV battle since AOP was OOS... a force is exempted from rolling for leader loss if it has at least 3-1 odds ratio or the enemy force is OOS...

4. if there is leader loss, all subordinate leaders in an army are eligible for loss, including cav leaders... so in the example above, if Price is the only infantry subordinate leader, then he and Stuart cav and Forrest cav leaders need to roll to see who is being killed...

5. Ken, I know you're new to this, but you need to keep better track of your map board position and forces... too many sloppy mistakes... Jean did a good track correcting some of them... if using Cyberboard/Vassal is not enough, I suggest using a physical game map to help you visualize in these early games...

163 1/26/2019 10:33:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message I think the best thing to do is to send a message to James. You be in copy.

Just a remark: it is strange that Forrest has 2SP with him because you did never mention it.
162 1/26/2019 9:38:00 AM Spring 1862 Confederate Message I agree it had 2 regular SP before the battle but it also had 3 Cav SP, one from Stuart and 2 from Forrest.
161 1/26/2019 9:02:00 AM Spring 1862 Union Message Ken,
like i demonstrated in message 153, I think AoNV had only 2SP before the battle whare it has beed elimanted.

If you dont agree with me, either you find some prrofs in the game journal to show me my msitake, either you ask to the referee (James) to adjudicate the situaition

Thank you
