783 2/5/2019 3:58:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Message Ism't hindsight wonderful :-)
782 2/5/2019 3:54:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Japanese Message BTW I think Galvanic was a fine play. Odds were that would have shut me out of India. But I got the event card the turn after. Very unlikely!
781 2/5/2019 3:52:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Message Good points about MacArthur and Dimasur. Problem I had in India was possibly overconfidence after getting the turn 3 reinforcements. You cant affordvthat as the allies as the Japanese can always overwhelm the CBI if they want to.

All useful things to learn ...
780 2/5/2019 3:48:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Japanese Play Strategy card as Event #77: 3 / Fuel Shortage: Japanese re-deploy fleet
Due to fuel shortages the Japanese player may move the Combined Fleet HQ and up to 4 naval units of any type from their current location to any port hex which is within 3 hexes of a resource space. The movement of the HQ and naval units may not enter an unneutralized Allied air ZOI.

OC: 5 EC: 0

Message from Japanese:
I had this. Might have come in handy to redeploy CF to Japan.

Note that Hakodate and Ominato were out of all JP HQ range!
779 2/5/2019 3:47:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Message Correction 2 military ecs, but one got hurricanes...
778 2/5/2019 3:46:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Japanese Message If I may, two things that made my push into India feasible in the short and long run were that you left Dimasur empty. I got lucky twice there that I weathered your move after I attacked Akyab and was able to walk into Dimasur cutting a bunch of guys off. The turn after the India event again allowed me a tempo to do it.

But in the long run, what really helped me was that Macarthur was in Townsville and not Cairns. From Cairns you threaten the belly of the DEI and also can take a shot at Singapore. For instance, a 1 PW hail mary from Cairns to Singapore, and then the USN based there raiding into Dacca to kill the air would have freed SEAC to reenter India.

Anyway, good game, thanks.
777 2/5/2019 3:45:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Discard Strategy card #39: 2 / Sextant Conference: Burma Road
OC: 2 EC: 0

Message from Allies:
The last card was not up to much
776 2/5/2019 3:45:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Message I also drew an awful hand this turn. Exactly one military event card. The rest was China offensives and other 2 oc events. Not helpful ...
775 2/5/2019 3:41:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Message And that was a storming last hand/ extra draws...
Monsoon, Gandhi and Tokyo Rose. Overkill...
774 2/5/2019 3:39:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Message I think I made two major mistakes.
1) I should have used Galvanic in turn 4 to attack and decimate your defences rather than as a desperate counterattack in India.
2) The badly handled attack against Vogelkop.

I possibly should have pushed harder in the central Pacific as well.

I have learnt a few lessons.

I think it is your task to inform the moderator. Good luck in round 2.
773 2/5/2019 3:35:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Allies Message Congratulations on a well deserved victory.

Mind you, you also got the perfect finishing hand Gandhi AND Tokyo Rose ....
772 2/5/2019 3:34:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Japanese Message Got the killer hand this turn: Tokio Rose, Halsey, and Ghandi. An ISR ender would also have allowed me to grab another India event in the pile to push it to Revolt.
771 2/5/2019 3:32:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Japanese Message India to Unstable, will Revolt at the end of this turn.
770 2/5/2019 3:30:00 PM Jan-Apr 1944 Japanese Play Strategy card as Event #15: 3 / Mahatma Gandhi: Independence Campaign
Move the India marker one box toward India Revolts, if already in India Revolts box no additional effect. to the unrest box. Bonus: The Allies lose 1 ground replacement step next game turn and any other ground replacement steps available during the next game turn can only be used for non-Commonwealth ground units. Remove from played if used as an event.

Message from Japanese:
Will go ahead and play this now there is no chance you can activate SEAC to retake Northern India. I was concerned you could do that with two plays.
