sorry, I had them all in Montreal for some reason
156 1/20/2019 2:55:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message you are right. see journal entry 105

so I need to know exactly what you have in there - which leaders and which units? And are any of the units reduced?
155 1/20/2019 2:54:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message Hang on you may be right
154 1/20/2019 2:53:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message Dieskau and 2 reduced marine units and marin but your board is more official than mine. We can say he was in montreal

Roll a die and restore that number of reduced Coureurs, Rangers, Light Infantry, or Provincials to full strength.

Message from France:
Play as event. I'll do a die request.
147 1/20/2019 2:44:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message you are fine. you still have lots of ways to score points
146 1/20/2019 2:33:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message That was brutal for me. I think this is going to be over soon.
145 1/20/2019 2:28:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Play Strategy card as Event #47: 3 / Troop Transports
French may not play after Quiberon or if Quebec is British controlled. Restore 3 French or 6 British reduced Regular or Light Infantry units to full strength.

1. both reduced units in Laurel Ridge South
2. both reduced units in Crown Point
144 1/20/2019 2:26:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message Gists Station
143 1/20/2019 2:09:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message Also I get +1 vp per 7.81 since I defeated a force with more than 4 units of any kind. So VPs go to 1 on the British side of the VP track (was at 0).
142 1/20/2019 2:07:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message ok which space do you retreat back to? It's supposed to be the space from which you entered the battle space, but I don't believe you specified that
141 1/20/2019 2:05:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message In that case per rule 7.62 only one marine detach suffers a loss. Langdale aux suffers the other loss.
140 1/20/2019 1:47:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message you are right about that. the player aid card is not worded correctly which threw me off.

Luckily for me, the result is still 2-2. I win the battle. Both my units flip.

By the way, I think you only have to take half the losses from drilled troops. see 7.62.
139 1/20/2019 1:44:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message Both marine detach suffer step losses. Per the rules drilled troops have to suffer losses first.
138 1/20/2019 1:41:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message I think you suffer another drm -1 because my side has aux, and yours does not and we are in a mountain terrain. Look at rule 7.52.
137 1/20/2019 1:27:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message each side takes 2 step losses.

134 1/19/2019 7:09:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message Before I submit die roll request, I want to make sure we understand the die roll modifiers.
133 1/19/2019 7:08:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message From my side of the die roll:
-1 for the stockade
+1 for my tactics rating
I have a strength force size of 9
132 1/19/2019 6:16:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #6: 3 / Surrender!
Play in place of a roll on the Siege Table. At Louisbourg, you must already have Siege 1 or 2. Capture the fort or fortess intact. Enemy player places defenders at his closest unbesieged fortification.

NOTE: The deck will be reshuffled before next turn's cards are dealt.

Message from France:
Play as ops:This is going to be a big battle.
Activate Levis. Levis is the commander of this force with 2 subcommanders: Beaujeu and Dumas. Levis commands 5 units and the other 2 each command 2 units each. This is a total of 9 units. The force, led by Levis, moves into Laurel Ridge South for battle.Rule 5.34 outlines what I'm trying to do force activation wise. We need to connect on how to resolve this.
131 1/19/2019 5:21:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #8: 1 / Coehorns & How.

127 1/19/2019 4:37:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message The other 2 that were in Venango: Ojibwa and Langlade.
126 1/19/2019 4:34:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message You still need to designate which two Aux units get dropped in Ohio Forks
125 1/19/2019 4:33:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message Gary - yes I believe that is possible.
124 1/19/2019 4:26:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message Here's my revision: I do the same move but Levis drops 2 aux units in ohio forks and keeps moving with aux unit Mississauga into Mingo Town. I believe this should be permissible.
123 1/19/2019 4:03:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message Gary - I don't believe you can keep moving with Levis. They all have to stop in Ohio Forks.

Reason: a Force always consists of leaders and units - and you activated the Force to move.

I assume you still want to do the move anyway, but leave Levis in Ohio Forks.
122 1/15/2019 8:21:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #44: 2 / Raise Regiments
May not be played if Assemblies Reluctant. Within Assemblies track limits, place 4 Northern or 2 Southern Provincial units at any fortifications in their Department, or restore all Provincials of one Department to full.

Message from France:
Play as ops. Activate Levis. He moves all 3 aux units in Venango to ohio forks and then moves into Mingo town. I believe I can drop troops off and move Levis into Mingo town but check it. Also, let me know if u still need my route for the raid. I took the most direct route.

Message from Britain:
Play as event. Place 2-6 Goreham rangers unit at Schenectady
120 1/14/2019 6:00:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message Gary can you tell me how you traced the movement from Oswego to Easton for the raid?
119 1/14/2019 2:42:00 AM 1757 Early Season France Message It looks like I have success. Put a raid marker on Easton. Redeploy everyone to nearest unbeseiged fort, which is Oswego I believe. Let me know if I did this incorrectly.
118 1/14/2019 2:41:00 AM 1757 Early Season France Die roll request Request: 6-sided die x 1

117 1/14/2019 2:40:00 AM 1757 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #30: 1 / Cherokees
May not be played after Cherokee Uprising. Place all Cherokee (GREEN) Indian units not on the map at a British fortification in the Southern Department and restore any reduced Cherokee to full strength. French may play Cherokee Uprising (place marker).

Message from France:

113 1/13/2019 10:00:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Event #27: 2 / Western Indian
Play if you have fort at Ohio Forks. Place ORANGE or--if you have a fort at Niagara-- BLUE/ORANGE Indian units totalling half a die roll (rounded up), or a full roll if French VP >4. Place units at their settlements. For every 1 you could place, you may instead restore 2 to full.

NOTE: This card was held from the Start turn.

Message from France:
Message from France:
Play as event. I rolled a 4. I have a fort in Niagra. I select 2 mingo aux indian units and place in the settlement mingo town
112 1/13/2019 9:58:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Return Strategy card to hand #27: 2 / Western Indian

Message from France:
111 1/13/2019 9:55:00 PM 1757 Early Season Britain Message Hey, just look at the discard pile, find the Western Indian card, return it to your hand, and then replay it as an event
110 1/13/2019 9:31:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Message Sorry I accidentally hit ops but that last card was for an event.
109 1/13/2019 9:31:00 PM 1757 Early Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #27: 2 / Western Indian

Message from France:

108 1/13/2019 9:18:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain End Turn
107 1/13/2019 9:14:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Indians and Leaders go home: Ottawa and Huron go from Ohio Forks —-> Pays d’en Haut; Levis —-> Venango.

Remove raid markers: none

Attrition: 3 drilled troops eliminated in Oswego (your choice)

Victory check: none

Look good? If so I will end the turn.
106 1/13/2019 9:11:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message No worries, that was the right move. It’s not going to be a horrible result for you.

Which 3 drilled troops unit will you lose in Oswego?
105 1/13/2019 9:09:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message Take back Moncalm move.
Instead Activate Dieskau and move both marine detach and aux unit to St. Jeans. Total moron for not managing attrition better. Lesson learned.

104 1/13/2019 9:02:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Just for the record: we decided that Indian Aux in forts may choose to go home in order to avoid triggering winter attrition
103 1/13/2019 8:53:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message 1) Keep Montcalm move for 1 point.

(Ottawa and Huron eventually go home.

2) Move Bearn and Guyenne to St. Jeans
102 1/13/2019 8:53:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Gary - you asked who was in Drucour’s box.

A few turns ago I moved all the units out of the boxes as it was confusing me.

So I show Drucour in Louisbourg, and there are also three 3-4 units there as well as a 1-6.
101 1/13/2019 8:35:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message Ok let me re-do that last move
100 1/13/2019 8:29:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Gary -

See 5.32 and 5.34. A card can be used to activate only one Force at a time - your recent play activated three Forces.
99 1/13/2019 6:36:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message Ok according my calculations for Ile-aux-noix, I'll lose one half of my reduced units (eliminate one marine detach) and one full-strength unit (eliminate Guyenne). Really bad playing on my part this season. I saw 2-3 things I did wrong. Not good.
98 1/13/2019 6:33:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message I meant to say move one 3-4 drilled troop unit to St. Jeans. I'll move Bearn.
97 1/13/2019 6:15:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message Hang on I can't activate Dieskau as it costs 2 points.
Instead I activate 1 marine detach and move to St. Jeans. I'll lose units in Ile aux noix
96 1/13/2019 6:12:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #62: 3 / Quiberon Bay
Play if Louisbourg Squadrons REMOVED, if you control Louisbourg, or after 1759. REMOVE French may not play Diplomatic Revolution, Victories in Germany, Troop Transports, or Regulars. Starting next season, French get 7 cards and British go first.

Message from France:
Play as ops:

1) Activate Moncalm who takes a force of one Coureaurs de Bois (Repentigny) plus all 3 drilled troops in his box to cataraqui.

2)Activate Dumas who takes two 1-6 Indians (Huron and Ottawa) to French creek

3) Activate Dieskau who takes a force of two 0-4 Marine Detach + Aux: one 0-6 Coureaurs de Bois (Marin) to St.Jean which is a friendly originally cultivated space.

When you get a chance confirm for me what is in Drucour's box. I thought 3 drilled troops units
95 1/13/2019 4:46:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message One question I have though is if you have a space and stacking limits are not followed and there are more than 4 units, if some of those are indian aux units do they just go home and not subject to attrition penalties?
94 1/13/2019 4:36:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message Got back sooner than I expected but I'll probably only have time for one turn. I agree on all of your reporting. I failed to look at the leader boxes.
93 1/13/2019 3:17:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Ok here is what I show for the three spaces we have talked about:

1. Ohio Forks - Leaders: Dumas and Beaujeau; Drilled Troops: three 1-4 Marine Detach (full strength); Aux Units: one 1-6 Coureurs de Bois (Lingeris) and two 1-6 Indians (Huron and Ottawa).

2. Oswego - Leaders: Montcalm and Villers; Drilled Troops: two 0-4 Marine Detach (reduced strength), three 2-4 regulars (3/Berry, Cambis, Ryl Rousslln) (reduced strength); three 1-6 Coureaurs de Bois (Lery, Joncaire, Repentigny)

3. Lie-Aux-Noix - Leader: Dieskau; Drilled Troops: four 3-4 regulars (La Reine, Languedoc, Bearn, Guyenne) (full strength); two 0-4 Marine Detach (reduced strength); Aux: one 0-6 Coureaurs de Bois (Marin) (reduced strength)
92 1/13/2019 12:47:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message I just re-read the rules for attrition. No more than 4 units can occupy a fortress space. Ouch. But I think I could send aux units home
91 1/13/2019 12:27:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message The previous message relates to ohio forks. For Ile-aux-Noix I have Dieskau and 4 units in his box: Bearn, Guyenne, Languedoc, La Reine. So according to my records I only have 4 units in that space.

Oswego -- it looks I have 8 units. Repentigay (1) and Villars has 4 units and Montcalm has 3.

According to your previous message we don't suffer attrition if we are in a fortress space irrespective of the number of units in that space?
90 1/13/2019 12:18:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message According to my records I have: 1)Ottawa aux 2)Huron aux
3)Marine detach 4)Marine detach.

I don't think I have any drilled troops outside of fortress areas.
89 1/12/2019 4:56:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Gary - we should confirm right now how many units you have in Ohio Forks, Oswego, and Ile-aux-Noix. Because I am currently showing you with 4+ units in each of those spaces, even with the move of the Obijwa to Venango.

Remember, drilled troops suffer winter attrition if there are more than 4 units of any type in their space, unless they are in an originally cultivate space, or a fortress.
88 1/12/2019 3:55:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #15: 1 / Lake Schooner
Play when enemy moves into friendly fortification space along lake connection (Ontario or Erie shore, or anywhere from Ile-aux-Noix to Hudson Carry North). Enemy stops in the previously occupied space.

Message from France:
Play as ops. Move aux unit Ojibwa back to Venango. I had to do this because only 4 units can fit into a fort in ohio forks and otherwise the unit would go all the way home. I'm probably out until tomorrow night.
87 1/12/2019 3:00:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #32: 2 / Treaty of Easton
Play if British Drilled Troops are in an unbesieged fortification in or adjacent to Ohio Forks. REMOVE Eliminate all unbesieged Shawnee, Mingo, and Delaware (ORANGE only) units

Message from Britain:
2 ops - construction. Place fort under construction markers in Laurel Ridge South and Schenectady.
86 1/12/2019 2:54:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #67: 3 / William Pitt
REMOVE Highlanders, Amherst, Forbes, and Wolfe are available. Draw any one Highlanders, British Regulars, Light Infantry, or Troop Transports from Discard. Starting next season, British get 9 cards.

Message from France:
Play as ops:
(2) activate Levis who moves from Oneida castle to La Belle River. Note: when moving units or leaders you must stop when entering a mountain space which is why I took the route I did.
(1) move Mississauga from buffalo swamp to vennago
85 1/12/2019 1:46:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message NOTE: at the end of this turn, Indians and leaders alone will all go home, and attrition will occur.
84 1/12/2019 1:44:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #7: 1 / Massacre!
Play when enemy stack of both Indian and Drilled Troops units captures a stockade space, fort, or fortress. Receive 1 VP. All Indians in the space eliminated.

Message from Britain:
1 op: activate Bradstreet in Crown Point. He takes the Rhode Island 2-4 Provincial and river moves to Schenectady.
83 1/12/2019 1:38:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Ok i recordeded your last moves, but just to be clear Levis moved by himself without units to Oneida castle, correct?

Also, just for rules learning purposes, that Aux move from Mississauga to Buffalo Swamp would have to be by land, since the last three spaces would be land moves.
82 1/10/2019 10:00:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message No worries. We need to be understanding with each other. We both have a lot of responsibility.
81 1/10/2019 9:32:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Hey, I am on a work trip (in Canada! Ottawa to be precise) so won’t be able to play my next card until Saturday
80 1/10/2019 9:07:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Play Strategy card as Operations #28: 3 / Iroquois Alliance
Play if only your side has fortifications at Oswego or Oneida Carry West or East. British also must have Johnson within 2 spaces of GRAY settlement.Place at their settlements up to a die roll of GRAY Indian units from tribes not currently enemy. For every 1 you could place, you may instead restore 2 to full.

Message from France:
Play as ops:
1) Activate Levis who moves by himself 6 spaces from ile-aux noix to Oneida castle (2 ops)
1) Activate Mississauga aux in Mississauga and move to Buffalo swamp (1 ops)
79 1/9/2019 6:33:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Play Strategy card as Operations #10: 1 / Fieldworks
Play before Battle if you have Drilled Troops. If defending, place marker--attacker shifts 1 column left. If attacking, remove defender's marker. (Marker also removed anytime owner chooses or if attackers win.)

Message from Britain:
1 op: activate Monckton in NY - he individually moves to Raystown
78 1/9/2019 6:25:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message I have Dunbar in Raystown, and then in Dunbar’s box there is a Virginia 2-4 provincial
77 1/9/2019 5:33:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message Ok, I withdraw that move but will use the same card. I move the Huron Aux out of the Pays d'en Haut to Ohio forks. When you get a chance tell me the leader and provincial unit you have in Raystown so I can update my board.
76 1/9/2019 9:00:00 AM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Yes there is a British leader and a provincial driller troop unit in his leader box. I will confirm which leader later.

FYI I could not have built a stockade there without the presence of the drilled troop.

Do you want to use the same card to do something else, or use a different card? If you want to use a different card, I think I can return the one you player to your hand.
75 1/8/2019 8:33:00 PM 1756 Late Season France Message 1) I went from Ohio Forks to Laurel Ridge North and into Raystown
2)I did not have on my map your having drilled troops I just thought there was a stockade. What drilled troop do you have there? That will impact if I want to do this move. I'll use the ops point for something else
74 1/8/2019 7:18:00 PM 1756 Late Season Britain Message Gary, first, I believe I would have the opportunity to intercept you in the space prior to Raystown. Can you tell me which route you took to get to Raystown?

Second, since I have drilled troops in Raystown, unless I intercept, I believe we have to fight a battle first, then if you win the battle, any remaining auxiliaries must raid against the stockade.

Do you want to take that play back, or if you choose to still make the play, tell me which spaces you move through to get to Raystown, and then I will tell you if I attempt an intercept first.
