162 1/6/2019 7:33:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message James, I've sent the result through to Michael.
161 1/5/2019 9:58:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message Thanks James for trying.

I didn't come to the game like a new Euro looking for interesting or quirky mechanics. I came to the game out of a genuine interest in the ACW. I have now seen and experienced how the game "should be" or is best played several times and have found it to be a huge turn off. I think the system would better represent WW2. If marketed as a WW2 game I'd probably never even played it once. Different strokes for different folks.

I'm sure there is more game than I have seen. But one would need to enjoy it and have a motivating interest in it to dig deeper as you have done. I don't. It isn't about winning or losing. Good luck or bad luck. I paint and play with miniatures which always involves some of both. It is about the experience the game gives. FtP has provided me with very poor ones and too many times. Allbeit and despite playing with good people.

Ftp and I are not a good mix. Fullstop.
160 1/5/2019 7:41:00 PM Spring 1862 Union Message Eric, thanks for the game. I know it can be painful when cards and dice do not fall your way. But I hope you'll reconsider coming back later when the "heat of disgust" subside. The more you play, the more you can see the subtleties. There are literally dozens and dozens of openings, each with its butterfly effects. You just happen to get one on the extreme bell curve.
159 1/5/2019 7:03:00 PM Spring 1862 Confederate Message That'll do

Death of a thousand cuts. I'd rather avoid any more.

I find the game resembles the ACW sort of like a red screwdriver resembles the Planet Mars. It isn't the game for me. I'll meet my obligations. One more game in the Tournament and a 1 card per day game with a guy (Jim) off Consimworld. But that'll likely be the end of it.

Thanks James for your time and energy and good luck with the rest of the Tourney. It was great to "meet" you.

Mate, I was Army, then a pro Firefighter and Rescue operator. I'd gone through some pain but that day was a bad day and I can't even try to describe the pain when it let go. My wife, having grown used to me over the years, kept encouraging me to "toughen up" throughout the day. Poor thing spent a very bad night when they told her I nearly died! But it worked out well for the family. We got upgraded into full suites (by the travel insurance) so I could have my own big bed. In Vegas that meant a room half the size of a whole floor! I was in a helicopter 3 days fater the surgery racing through the Grand Canyon. I managed to walk around Washington DC, most of Gettysburg, almost all of New York. Constant pain but I got fit! So the holiday was a success and we all had a hell of a story to tell after it.

yeah, it's tough for the Rebels when the Union has the cards to squeeze the Confederacy everywhere... with 2 states gone, SA zone closed and Blockade at 2, you're losing at least 3 SP/turn ... it's going to be tough going... but it's not completely hopeless.
